Session 1: (Friday Sept 8, 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM EST) • The cycle of human life and our creation (using Ayat from the Quran and Hadith). • Puberty in Islam and becoming a young Muslim lady. • How Allah swt created the female reproductive system (age appropriate) • How to be ready and welcome your monthly visitor: Menstruation. Session 2: (Saturday Sept 9, 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM EST) • Self-Care: Taking care of my physical, mental, and emotional health as a Muslim girl prior to and during my period. • How to strengthen my relationship with my Rabb • Explaining the rulings of Figh of Haydh and Tahara (Figh of Menstruation & Purification) in an easy and simple way • How to do ghusl according to the Sunnah of our beloved Prophet Muhammad peace and mercy be upon him 𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐫: Dr. Heba Abolaban is a physician by training who obtained her medical degree from Damascus Medical School, Syria. Then, she obtained her Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from Northeastern University in Boston. She worked for several years at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health as a Women's Health Consultant. She has been working as an independent Muslim health consultant and educator for 10 years. She has had the honor to educate hundreds of healthcare professionals on cultural competency training and how to care for our Muslim patients and clients. Dr. Abolaban also worked as an academic researcher at the Muslims Mental Health & Islamic Psychology Lab at Stanford University in California from 2019 to 2021. She currently lives in Boston and offers a variety of online courses related to Islam and health in different topics, and she enjoys being a mother of three beautiful children.
