Tawasaw Robotics terms
Last updated September 9, 2026
Terms of Service
These terms cover this website and the program applications submitted through it. They are meant to be readable, not to trap anyone, if something here is unclear, email us and ask.
The short version
- This is an informational site for a youth robotics program. It sells nothing and collects no payments.
- Submitting an application is not enrollment, and it does not guarantee a spot on a team.
- Actually joining a team involves separate paperwork, FIRST registration and our own permission forms, and those documents control, not this page.
- Schedules, dates, age ranges, and program details on this site can change.
Accepting these terms
By using robotics.tawasaw.org or submitting an application through it, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
If you are under 18, read these terms with a parent or guardian. A parent or guardian must be the one to submit an application and to agree to these terms on a student's behalf.
What this site is
This site describes the Tawasaw Robotics FIRST LEGO League and FIRST Tech Challenge programs in Silicon Valley, lists past season results, and links to application forms. It is informational.
Program details, meeting times, start dates, age and grade ranges, application deadlines, and which teams we field, reflect our plans at the time of writing and may change as a season develops. Nothing on this site is a binding offer of admission, a promise that a specific team or program will run, or a guarantee that a student will compete at any particular event.
Applying to a program
When you submit an application form, you agree that:
Space on our teams is limited. We may decline an application, close a program early, place a student on a waitlist, or assign a student to a different team than the one requested. FIRST sets its own eligibility rules for each program, and those rules apply regardless of what an application says.
- You are the student's parent or legal guardian, or you are submitting with their permission.
- The information you provide is accurate and current, and you will tell us if it changes.
- Submitting an application starts a conversation. It is not acceptance, enrollment, or a reserved spot.
Participation is governed separately
These terms cover the website. They do not govern participation in a program. Joining a team requires separate documents, which may include registration and consent forms through FIRST, our own permission and media forms, a team code of conduct, and any arrangements for fees, travel, or equipment.
Where those documents and this page disagree, those documents control.
No payments through this site
This site does not process payments, take donations, or store payment information, and no page here asks for a card number. If any program fee or trip cost applies, we communicate it directly to families and handle it outside this website. Treat any page or message that asks you to pay Tawasaw Robotics through this site as fraudulent, and please tell us about it.
Acceptable use
When using this site, please do not:
- Submit false information, or apply on behalf of a child you are not responsible for.
- Submit content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, or otherwise inappropriate for a program serving children.
- Attempt to break, probe, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the site or the services behind it.
- Scrape or reuse the site's content or images for commercial purposes without our permission.
- Use the site to contact our students or families for advertising or solicitation.
Content and intellectual property
The text, images, photographs, logos, and design on this site belong to Tawasaw Robotics or are used with permission, and are not licensed for reuse. You are welcome to link to this site, quote short passages with attribution, and share our public posts.
The source code for this website is a separate matter: it is published on GitHub under the BSD 2-Clause License, and that license governs the code alone. It does not grant any right to our name, logos, photographs, or written content.
FIRST, FIRST LEGO League, and FIRST Tech Challenge are trademarks of For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST). LEGO is a trademark of the LEGO Group. Both are used here only to identify the programs our teams participate in. Neither organization sponsors, authorizes, or endorses this site.
Third-party services and links
Our application pages embed Google Forms, and the site links out to Instagram, YouTube, the Tawasaw Institute site, and a separate team site for FTC #30619. Those services and sites are run by other people under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability, or practices.
Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect through this site and how we handle it, including information about children. It is part of these terms.
Availability and accuracy
This site is provided as is and as available. We work to keep it accurate and online, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or current at every moment, and we may change or remove any part of it at any time. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Tawasaw Robotics and its coaches, mentors, volunteers, and staff are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this website, or from reliance on information published here that later changed.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under law, and nothing here affects the separate agreements and releases that govern actual program participation.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we will revise the page and the "last updated" date at the top. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute about this website will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Santa Clara County, California.
