The Tawasaw Mentorship Journey

At Tawasaw, mentorship is a lifelong journey of growth, leadership, service, and spiritual development. Our mentorship pathway is designed to help students strengthen their Islamic identity, build confidence, and develop the skills needed to positively impact their communities.

During their teen years, students begin stepping into leadership roles as Junior Mentors (ages 13–15) and Certified Mentors (ages 16–18), where they guide younger students while continuing to deepen their own learning, character, and leadership abilities.

Beyond the age of 18, students enter the Legacy Path. Legacy Mentors lead initiatives and community programs while being guided by Legacy Shepherds who mentor and support them throughout their journey. Legacy Stewards help lead and grow Tawasaw Chapters nationally and globally, all under the scholarly guidance and support of the Legacy Council.

Through every stage, Tawasaw aims to nurture generations of compassionate, knowledgeable, and service-driven Muslim leaders.

Mentorship Opportunities

Junior Mentor

At age 13–15, Junior Mentors begin stepping into the role of guiding others while continuing their own learning and development. Under the supervision of Legacy Mentors, Junior Mentors support Adventurers and Pioneers.

At this stage, they are both learners and leaders—growing in responsibility, confidence, and character while being mentored themselves as part of Tawasaw’s continuous chain of guidance.

Certified Mentor

At age 16–18, Senior Mentors have completed advanced training in mentorship and personal development within the Tawasaw program. They take on a central role in guiding Adventurers and Pioneers.

Certified Mentors receive formal certification in leadership, equipping them with the skills to mentor effectively, work within teams, and contribute meaningfully to the community.

Legacy Mentor

A Legacy Mentor takes on a leadership role in shaping and guiding programs and initiatives. Building on years of growth within the Tawasaw pathway, they not only mentor individuals but also lead efforts that strengthen the community as a whole.

Legacy Mentors design and lead initiatives, support the development of younger mentors, and ensure that the values of Tawasaw are carried forward with excellence.

Legacy Shepherd

A Legacy Shepherd is a senior mentor within the Tawasaw community who provides guidance and oversight to a group of Legacy Mentors.

Legacy Shepherds focus on offering wisdom and direction while helping Legacy Mentors grow in their ability to guide others. In this role, they serve as anchors of continuity, strengthening the chain of mentorship and ensuring that the values of Tawasaw are upheld and passed forward with excellence.

Legacy Steward

A Legacy Steward is a trusted leader who oversees and leads a Tawasaw chapter. They are responsible for cultivating a strong environment of mentorship, ensuring that programs are implemented with excellence, and that the vision of Tawasaw is lived at every level of the community.

They lead with responsibility, service, and vision—ensuring that each generation is nurtured and connected within the Tawasaw pathway.

Legacy Council

The Legacy Council is a group of respected scholars who support and guide the Tawasaw community. Once a year, they join us for a special Legacy Retreat, where Legacy Mentors, Legacy Shepherds, and Legacy Stewards spend dedicated time with them in a close and meaningful setting.

In this space, leaders are able to openly share their struggles, seek sincere advice, and benefit from their wisdom and experience. This gathering helps ensure that our work remains grounded in knowledge, sincerity, and barakah, as we continue to grow and serve the community for the sake of Allah.
