Deadly Characteristics | Your Relationship With Allah Ep. 28 | Sh. Alauddin ElBakri | Ramadan Series
Shaykh Alauddin ElBakri
1 moment mention “Relationship with Allah”:
- As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa
- barakatuh, and welcome back to Ramadan
- series, Your Relationship with Allah
- Subhana Wa Ta'ala. We covered three
- categories last episode that Allah does
- not love those who transgress. Allah
- does not love those who are ungrateful.
- Allah does not love those who betray and
- deceive others. We will continue with
- this list so that we make sure we don't
- meet any of these categories so that we
- stay within the categories of the people
- that Allah loves Subhana Wa Ta'ala. One
- of the biggest statements in the Quran,
- inna Allaha la yuhibbul mufsidin, Allah
- does not love mischiefers. This category
- came in two statements. Inna Allaha la
- yuhibbul mufsidin wallahu la yuhibbul
- fasad. Allah does not love mischiefers
- and Allah does not love mischief. What
- am I talking about? We're talking about
- corruption on the level of the society.
- We're talking about when people start
- accepting bribes. When people start, you
- know, bypassing the systems with
- connections, vasita and rashwa. We're
- talking about when people allow
- themselves to become corrupt to make a
- little bit of money
- or a little bit of fame or a little bit
- of power. It becomes, you know, the
- person is willing to do what he or she
- should never do. This idea of luring
- people with money, with connections,
- I'll give you a little bit power, I'll
- give you a little bit fame, some wealth.
- This action, when you spread that,
- that's called fasad. It's very
- interesting that in English the facade
- is the front of the building, the cover,
- the things that covers it. In Arabic,
- fasad is to put a show of mischief, to
- put a show of corruption on Earth. Allah
- Azza Wa Jalla says, wa idha tawalla,
- this person, when he goes on on earth
- said feeling
- you have to see that we have while you
- can have
- and this person when he turns around and
- walks the earth to spread mischief and
- corruption
- you know and destroy
- the land the farmland and destroy the
- children destroy the progeny of the
- people As if Allah is talking about war
- indirectly. This is what we see
- happening in
- the children are dying the
- infrastructure is dying destroyed the
- farms are destroyed people are left to
- starve for a prolonged time while the
- world is watching and pretending nothing
- is happening. Allah does not love those
- who commit these acts of corruption
- destruction war aggression oppression.
- You don't want to be one of these people
- and you don't want to sell your here
- after for a cheap price in this world
- no amount of money no amount of fame no
- amount of power is worth your soul don't
- sell your soul to the devil by going
- with the path of corruption as Allah
- warns us of that in
- the next category that Allah
- mentioned in the Quran.
- Allah
- does not love extravagant people when a
- person is extravagant that's an
- indication that the person has extra
- wealth
- and instead of helping people with that
- wealth they just keep on spending and
- spending and spoiling themselves more
- and more and more
- until it becomes pointless
- so even when it comes to not spending
- even if it comes to eating, Allah says
- "Wash rabu wala tusrifu. Innahu la
- yuhibbul musrifin." Eat and drink,
- but don't overdo it.
- You know, israf comes with halal, not
- with haram. Haram is haram, you should
- not do it.
- Like, just don't do it.
- Israf, just don't overdo it. It comes
- with halal.
- Is it halal to eat bread? Yeah, it is.
- But should you eat 100 pieces of bread a
- day? No, that most probably will kill
- you or cause you diabetes or something.
- Or, you know, stomach pain. So, my dear
- brothers and sisters,
- israf is something that the believer
- runs away from. We believers try to live
- a minimalistic,
- simple life. And specially for us who
- has wealth,
- there's people around the world, be it
- in, you know, Indonesia, in Africa, even
- in America, 13 million children go to
- sleep without dinner. In the richest
- country in the world. Why?
- Because all the casinos in Las Vegas are
- dumping tons and tons of food that
- nobody's allowed to use or reuse. They
- say the amount of food waste in the
- United States can go up to 70%. It's an
- astronomical number. Allah does not love
- those who are extravagant. If you have
- too much money on your hand, go and
- invest it. Go and give charity.
- Save some of it. But don't be spending
- your money
- mindlessly. Allah will not love you or
- love that action. The next category of
- people that Allah does not love are
- those who cover the truth,
- fight the truth, dilute the truth,
- give half a truth, you know, these
- people are
- you know, a category by themselves. Al
- kafirin, those who intentionally, they
- They the truth and they intentionally
- fight it, and look the other way, and
- turn a blind eye, and refuse to accept
- it.
- When that's the purpose of their life.
- Why are we all alive? Just to know the
- truth,
- follow the truth, promote the truth, and
- that as they say the truth shall set you
- free.
- And this is what we believe as Muslims.
- Allah's name is the truth. Islam is the
- truth. Quran is the truth, you know?
- There is truth in this world. There is
- certainty in this world. Not everything
- is maybe or perhaps. There is certainty
- that there is good versus bad, good
- versus evil, right versus wrong. Do you
- know truth versus falsehood? May Allah
- Azza wa Jal make us from the followers
- of the truth. Amen. Ya Rabbal Alameen.
- The next category of people that Allah
- does not love, wallahu la yuhibbu
- zalimin. Allah does not love the
- oppressors, the aggressors. We see so
- much oppression in the world right now
- that we are baffled. Like the whole
- world is watching what's happening in
- Gaza, and nothing no one can do anything
- to stop that oppression and aggression.
- Allah does not love those who are
- aggressors, the dictators, the tyrants,
- the murderers, the killers.
- And we the believers should abstain and
- stay away from that and be the people of
- justice and fairness, inshallah. Rabbal
- Alameen.
- And the last category of people that
- Allah Subhana wa Ta'ala Allah does not
- love are those who are arrogant.
- Oh my god, Allah does not stand arrogant
- people. Snobby, boastful, full of
- themselves, selfish.
- This category could be like uh an
- episode by itself.
- But Subhanallah, you know, I know
- everybody knows when we talk about kibr,
- but kibr has a root.
- I am better than you.
- You are less than me. In Islam as
- Muslims,
- Allah knows who's best. The best of
- amongst us are those with the most
- righteousness. Inna akramakum indallahi
- atqakum. And taqwa is inside the heart.
- So, we don't know who's best and who's
- better than the other one, but Allah
- knows and Allah decide. So, we live our
- lives with humbleness, doing our duty,
- serving mankind and humanity and the
- creation. And we ask Allah subhana wa
- ta'ala to grant us humbleness and
- humility in his name, for his sake. May
- Allah subhana wa ta'ala never make us
- from those whom he does not love. And
- may Allah make us from those whom he
- loves. Amin ya rabbal alamin. Wa
- sallallahu ala sayyidina Muhammad wa ala
- alihi wa sahbihi ajma'in.
