  31. very beautiful allah bless your health
  32. your wealth your time your energy
  33. your parents your brothers and sisters
  34. insha'allah
  35. and uh
  36. it is it's a surah you know just in a
  37. nutshell
  38. at the end of it it has an offer that is
  39. not mentioned anywhere else in the quran
  40. it says that allah would
  41. painfully punish one who associate
  42. partners with him
  43. one who commits murder
  44. killing and the fornication
  45. and adultery except those who repent and
  46. follow
  47. themselves with good deeds this is what
  48. allah said this is
  49. mind-blowing this is you know we know
  50. that if you sin and you ask forgiveness
  51. allah will forgive you
  52. but here is another one there's another
  53. offer of forgiveness in the quran
  54. and in the hadith which is forgiveness
  55. you did the sin
  56. it's on your record and the forgiveness
  57. is on your record
  58. you will not be held but it's on your
  59. record then there is afu
  60. which rasulullah told isha when it's
  61. night of uh
  62. al-qaeda if you think it's a night of
  63. al-qaeda
  64. what is afu is that the sin gets wiped
  65. out from your record completely
  66. when you're resurrected on the day of
  67. judgement nobody you cannot remember you
  68. made a sin
  69. nobody can remember you made a sin the
  70. angels don't remember it it's not in
  71. your book
  72. it's omitted from history it's literally
  73. as if you traveled back in the past
  74. and took that part and threw it out of
  75. your record
  76. this surah offers a third mind-blowing
  77. forgiveness
  78. not only allah will forgive you not only
  79. allah will expunge it from your record
  80. but allah will go back to that bad deed
  81. and turn it into a good deed on your
  82. record
  83. so when you wake up on the day of
  84. judgment you see yourself that you did
  85. something
  86. great and you forget that actually what
  87. you did was
  88. a great sin now that is called
  89. time travel you get to go to the past
  90. you get to change the past and turn the
  91. mistakes into good choices
  92. and put that on your record and move
  93. forward to the future on the day of
  94. judgement
  95. and meet allah with an amazing record
  96. you can't beat that this is unbelievable
  97. three different levels of forgiveness
  98. each one of them
  99. is mind-blowing so what's the format for
  100. tonight
  101. um we are going to have uh
  102. if you put your request for dua on
  103. social media
  104. between the speakers we're going to
  105. promote your dua inshallah
  106. for you so you can do that
  107. that's one option and then we're going
  108. to hear
  109. recitation of the quran from different
  110. people and
  111. some performances inshallah but the
  112. first one that i thought masha allah
  113. would
  114. enlighten us tonight is sheikh
  115. yasir who is masha'allah have been
  116. leading
  117. efforts day and night with al misbah and
  118. he has a surprise for us because he's
  119. not the only one who's watching
  120. he's actually having a whole they call
  121. it the warehouse it's in sacramento
  122. it's a it's an unbelievable group of
  123. brothers and sisters who actually do
  124. volunteer work community service they
  125. speak the same language we speak
  126. at tawasa and in at mca
  127. so alhamdulillah we're all on the same
  128. bandwidth
  129. almost the same thing that we teach the
  130. community service and all of that stuff
  131. alhamdulillah
  132. the mic is yours
  133. i appreciate
  134. [Music]
  135. you know to be told to speak here uh
  136. this evening on the suspicious night
  137. is
  138. respected brothers and sisters in islam
  139. i want to share
  140. three points short and simple that we
  141. can ensure
  142. hold very close to our hearts that will
  143. take us very
  144. far in life and ensure
  145. it will raise our statuses in the
  146. hereafter as well
  147. number one is the sunnah
  148. with all the different advancements that
  149. we see in society
  150. technology and this thing is coming out
  151. this vehicle
  152. and and we see the world is just
  153. you know racing with each other you know
  154. within itself to
  155. be the next big thing
  156. alhamdulillah that allah gave us the
  157. sunnah
  158. that we are to remain grounded in the
  159. sunnah
  160. we have to have this conviction that
  161. every any other way of
  162. life that we are to adopt and we believe
  163. that is that is the type of lifestyle
  164. that's going to lead us to success
  165. which is besides the sunnah our
  166. conviction
  167. should be that any other
  168. lifestyle and methodology of doing
  169. something which is against
  170. the sunnah is guaranteed
  171. going to lead us towards destruction and
  172. that is something that we
  173. need to you know internalize
  174. regardless of how advanced everything
  175. else is going our methodology is within
  176. the sunnah and
  177. it may seem like okay there's this
  178. paradigm or there's this
  179. uh uh you know conflict oh as
  180. if the sunlight is backwards no no it is
  181. not don't don't you know don't think
  182. that's the case
  183. we need to do our part
  184. and study the seerah under masha'ikh
  185. under mustand
  186. because we we need to believe that all
  187. of our problems
  188. that exist today the solutions are found
  189. in the seed of rasulallah
  190. the different incidents that took place
  191. what are some points that
  192. this author of that wrote aceta
  193. is able to derive from this point that
  194. from this incident
  195. you're able to derive this point and
  196. from that incident you're able to derive
  197. that point
  198. so this is something that i want all of
  199. us to hold on to
  200. is the sunnah of rasulullah now
  201. my next point point number two is from
  202. the sunnah of rasulullah i want everyone
  203. to
  204. hold dearly to your heart i believe
  205. which is which is one of the forgotten
  206. sunnah of rasulallah
  207. and what is that sunnah that is the
  208. sunnah of
  209. having worry and concern for the umba
  210. it's that flame as i like to say that
  211. creates this pulp the zeal
  212. to do more which is the motivating
  213. factor which pushes a person
  214. to do whatever that needs to happen for
  215. the ummah
  216. to deliver a food box to counsel someone
  217. to answer someone's phone call that we
  218. know is going through problems
  219. to assist someone in any way possible
  220. that
  221. requires motivation and
  222. the motivating factor should be the
  223. sunnah remember
  224. and one of the forgotten sunnah of
  225. sunnah is to have
  226. legitimate worry and concern for the
  227. ummah so much so
  228. that rasulullah sallam he would stand at
  229. night and he would cry for the ummah
  230. he would lose sleep because of the ummah
  231. he would lose his appetite because of
  232. the ummah
  233. he would toss and turn at night you and
  234. i toss and turn because
  235. we have exams coming up or we lose our
  236. sleep because of
  237. you know different challenges that we
  238. have the man
  239. would experience these emotions and
  240. challenges regarding the ummah of
  241. rasulullah
  242. and number three respected brothers and
  243. sisters in islam my third point and i
  244. will conclude here inshaallah
  245. is all of us want to
  246. have the keys to be able to draw from
  247. the trenches of allah subhanahu ta'ala
  248. we recognize who allah subhanahu wa is
  249. we recognize how
  250. amazing he is and how vast his kingdom
  251. is it is beyond our imagination
  252. combined allah with his
  253. treasures is like infinite treasures
  254. we need to be the smart ones intelligent
  255. ones to be able to tap into such
  256. treasures
  257. and the one of the keys to tapping into
  258. those treasures
  259. is by being sincere sincerity
  260. is that key to unlock that lock to draw
  261. from the treasures of allah
  262. it is to be doing it for the sake of
  263. allah wa
  264. so i remind myself first because i'm
  265. listening
  266. i'm able to hear and listen to myself
  267. first before the audience
  268. number one the sunnah of rasulullah
  269. sallam
  270. just because i don't know the solution
  271. to a problem does not mean it does not
  272. exist it is my weakness and it is my
  273. shortcoming i need to do a better job to
  274. understand the seat of rasulallah
  275. number two we need to hold on to this
  276. amazing sunnah of
  277. having worry and concern for fellow
  278. human beings
  279. i'm not saying fellow muslims i'm saying
  280. fellow human beings
  281. because islam came for the world islam
  282. did not come
  283. for an exclusive group of people and
  284. number three
  285. in order for us to draw from from the
  286. treasures of allah
  287. what is this verse talking about you
  288. boil what
  289. if you boil this down if you may it
  290. comes down to ikhlas may allah grant us
  291. these amazing qualities
  292. may allah accept everyone's efforts and
  293. my dear respected sheikh
  294. al-awlin as i was telling him over text
  295. messaging
  296. you gave me the umar and i'm here uh
  297. you remind me what we learned in the
  298. books uh
  299. for an action to be accepted by allah
  300. you need two things sincerity and
  301. following the prophet sallallahu alaihi
  302. sallam
  303. and as long as it is you know within the
  304. guidance of the quran
  305. are you speaking on your phone or this
  306. computer i wanted you to show us
  307. the the people because you know
  308. sometimes the numbers on the facebook
  309. does not reflect
  310. please go ahead unmute yourself so that
  311. you go back on the screen
  312. okay so they see me coming because
  313. they're also watching inside
  314. but uh
  315. [Music]
  316. masha'allah
  317. [Music]
  318. from that corner right there so we'll
  319. pray we pray our jumrah here and
  320. we have some shabbat here masha'allah
  321. and uh
  322. on the sister side and the warehouse as
  323. well but yeah
  324. i mean thank you very much bless your
  325. effort and the youth
  326. brothers and sisters and may allah give
  327. you tawfiq
  328. and success in dunya
  329. um yes
  330. um what better way to reintroduce our
  331. theme
  332. that we are focusing on this night which
  333. is that the empower that we are
  334. empowered by the quran
  335. and insha allah as you guys see the rest
  336. of our guest lineup
  337. that we are really bringing this theme
  338. to life our next speaker is one of our
  339. own very youth amina mahadeen who is a
  340. fellow middle schooler
  341. and has a passion for public speaking
  342. insha allah she will now be taking the
  343. floor to talk about her
  344. identity in faith
  345. his face can easily be fixed if they
  346. look at the crowd
  347. everyone my name is amina and today i
  348. would like to talk about how to quran
  349. empowers me
  350. one problem that many people face is
  351. that they aren't happy with the way they
  352. look
  353. they want to lose weight measure up to
  354. society's impossible
  355. yet in the quran allah tells us in surah
  356. 95
  357. ayah 4 we have indeed created men out of
  358. the best of worlds
  359. this empowers me because i know that on
  360. the day of judgment i'll be judged based
  361. on my character
  362. how i treat others not by how i look or
  363. the way i dressed
  364. the quran is also empowering because it
  365. has answers to every problem that i face
  366. whenever i'm faced with a situation or
  367. question i look at the crime for answers
  368. or what the prophets peace be upon him
  369. did in similar situations
  370. the quran is a guide to how we live our
  371. lives
  372. in conclusion the quran empowers me
  373. because i know i can turn to it whenever
  374. i feel anxious
  375. afraid or i simply need a boost of
  376. confidence
  377. the quran is advice on every possible
  378. situation
  379. and i'm and most of all it empowers me
  380. because it shows me i'm perfect just the
  381. way i am
  382. i'm special because i was created every
  383. day i try to remember
  384. thank you
  385. what are your thoughts on that i think i
  386. need to take some uh public speaking
  387. lessons from uh from sister amina
  388. yes she is she is always killing it
  389. masha'allah
  390. may allah bless her bless her parents
  391. who raised her
  392. and she has been with us from the first
  393. class
  394. at the tawasa alhamdulillah
  395. her and her sisters are amazing so
  396. go ahead inshaallah brother bismillah
  397. all right
  398. um that was refreshing to hear to start
  399. off from one of our youth our middle
  400. school or sister amina
  401. but i want to shift gears a little bit
  402. introduce um um our next
  403. speaker uh sister amen who uh
  404. has who is actually dr eman faraz should
  405. introduce she has a
  406. doctorate in psychology she's the
  407. president and founder of iman network
  408. um she has masala a list of diff you
  409. know other degrees and certificates
  410. um and she's she's also teaching she
  411. teaches at a
  412. university she's very active with the
  413. mca and i've actually had the pleasure
  414. of working with her
  415. in the last few months without further
  416. ado let me just
  417. introduce her and give her the mic uh dr
  418. iman farazella
  419. and i'm going to be talking about
  420. inshallah the quran and
  421. what the quran means for me in my life
  422. um
  423. uh i am a firm believer that the best
  424. word that allah gifted our beloved
  425. muhammad sallallahu alaihi
  426. wasallam uh on behalf of his ummah is
  427. basically the revelation of the quran
  428. which was revealed to him in the 23
  429. years
  430. and uh subhanallah jibrin and when he
  431. used to come to the prophet sallallahu
  432. alaihi wasallam
  433. every ramadan he would actually
  434. um recite the quran or review the quran
  435. with the prophet sallallahu alaihi
  436. for that month and then um
  437. subhanallah after that uh in the day
  438. when allah chooses the prophet
  439. sallallahu alaihi wasallam
  440. to be with him he is he actually
  441. reviewed the quran with him
  442. two times at ramadan um and that was an
  443. indication for the prophet sallallahu
  444. alaihi sallam
  445. for for the agile for the time that is
  446. the time to go
  447. um and uh why i'm saying that because
  448. subhanallah during the month of ramadan
  449. we compete among each other like we
  450. we try to see how many times did you
  451. recite the quran how many
  452. times did you finish the quran but do we
  453. actually
  454. reflect upon the quran that we recite
  455. every um
  456. every uh ramadan do we do tadaburg
  457. this is really very important it doesn't
  458. matter how many times you read the quran
  459. what matters is the tada
  460. that you do when you read the quran
  461. and subhanallah um you know for me
  462. one of the greatest areas that actually
  463. um
  464. subhanallah affect me a lot and
  465. um it plays a huge role in in who i am
  466. or achieves who i
  467. am the ayah 14 of surah
  468. foreign
  469. we have believed say you have not
  470. believed
  471. but say we have submitted for faith
  472. has not yet entered your hearts but if
  473. you obey allah
  474. and his messenger he will diminish none
  475. of your deeds
  476. allah is forgiving and most merciful um
  477. you know subhanallah the reason i i this
  478. ayah touches my heart is because
  479. i think we need to revisit all the time
  480. ourselves
  481. we need really to visit our hearts and
  482. to see
  483. um are we from the group of the muslim
  484. mean are we from
  485. from the menin are we a group of them
  486. and the top iman is the son
  487. and subhanallah a lot of us we say that
  488. we are
  489. menin or we actually claim that we have
  490. iman in our hearts
  491. and this is why i am a firm believer
  492. that every now and then we need to
  493. revisit our heart and we value
  494. our relationship with allah subhanahu wa
  495. ta'ala in order insha'allah to reach the
  496. the the time of isa or that
  497. the top relationship which is uh you
  498. know
  499. when it was revealed in the hadith uh of
  500. uh
  501. the prophet sallallahu alaihi man
  502. you know and his uh the levels of iman
  503. the other point i would like to um point
  504. out
  505. is and i know like i am i have only
  506. three minutes and three minutes you
  507. cannot say too much
  508. but you know the uh you know the other
  509. ayah that really uh always uh
  510. remind me uh of also the the phase of uh
  511. visiting the iman as we are familiar
  512. with the story of the
  513. muhallabhina and rasulullah they have
  514. that when he went to yarmouk to fight um
  515. the room
  516. and uh a lot of the arab
  517. said to the prophet sallallahu alaihi
  518. salam we will not join you because
  519. they said that we cannot join you
  520. because we are worried for our
  521. families and we are worried for our
  522. women but unfortunately that wasn't the
  523. reason really
  524. and they left the prophet sallallahu
  525. alaihi send them to fight that battle
  526. when he came back
  527. there was only three faithful sahabah
  528. who told
  529. rasool allah that we have no excuse that
  530. we left you in that battle we should
  531. have been there
  532. and then allah revealed
  533. um the other thing that i want to say
  534. for the quran that we not only that
  535. adapt and see the
  536. the uh the meanings of the ayat and at
  537. the same time we try to work by it
  538. is that basically trying to make
  539. sure with ramadan or without ramadan
  540. that we have
  541. always we always have to make some time
  542. of our day or our night
  543. to basically especially in in ramadan
  544. also
  545. to read the quran as we say in arabic
  546. um always make birth of the day
  547. or the night for three the quran but
  548. also make
  549. part of the day for your dicker for your
  550. a better for your pm
  551. for your work for your sleep as the way
  552. you put
  553. time for to sleep or visit your raheem
  554. or to to
  555. to work also made a little bit of time
  556. for the quran
  557. allah
  558. uh that was a good two points
  559. from al-quran because the whole point of
  560. today is to be
  561. empowered by the quran so the question
  562. is how can we have
  563. iman enter our hearts and how can we
  564. not make excuses that don't hold off
  565. they don't hold any grounds we can
  566. live and die making excuses and that
  567. will not get us
  568. um anywhere subhanallah we have people
  569. mashallah watching with us
  570. from malaysia from indonesia there's
  571. we're multi-streaming into many channels
  572. and one of these channels actually has
  573. 750
  574. 000 uh participants obviously not all of
  575. them are watching
  576. but alhamdulillah maybe you cannot see
  577. them on the
  578. um on the channel that you are in but on
  579. other channels we see
  580. all the feedback here and alhamdulillah
  581. for every um one
  582. participant is having a whole family so
  583. right now inshallah you know we're
  584. around maybe four or five hundred people
  585. watching alhamdulillah i mean from all
  586. the channels
  587. uh distributed on small and large ones
  588. um alhamdulillah we have here
  589. um our brothers
  590. the band from uh malaysia

  618. brother shafiq you can introduce our
  619. next middle schooler
  620. yes so i will take it away because i
  621. think
  622. away from the camera but alhamdulillah i
  623. had the pleasure of introducing another
  624. one of our tawaso youth we have
  625. another youth by the name of farhan who
  626. will also be speaking
  627. and i am excited to see what he has in
  628. store for us
  629. has empowered me in many ways the quran
  630. has always been kind of a beacon of
  631. inspiration for me i've always been able
  632. to look to it
  633. whenever i am sad or when i'm angry or
  634. i'm just not completely
  635. i'm completely feeling like i can't do
  636. anything and i can't get anything right
  637. um the quran has always been kind of um
  638. the paragon of inspiration for me where
  639. it kind of tells me that oh
  640. um don't worry you know everything will
  641. get better allah gives us to everyone
  642. it's not just you
  643. uh everything will be easy for you after
  644. this and
  645. um the ayah that highlights this that i
  646. thought would be great to share would be
  647. [Music]
  648. um
  649. will give us all hardships first but
  650. then after that he's going to give us
  651. ease and he's going to give us rewards
  652. for all the hardships and the struggles
  653. that we went through
  654. masha'allah brother very outspoken
  655. and he was nervous because we told
  656. everyone not to exceed two minutes
  657. so he was trying to fit so much in a
  658. very so little
  659. alhamdulillah that's an
  660. excellent reminder um let's hear another
  661. reminder from one of our youth inshallah
  662. uh sister
  663. now if we can roll that
  664. everyone my name is nina and today i'd
  665. like to talk about why built what end
  666. empowers me
  667. the quran empowers me because it shows
  668. me that everything happens
  669. for a reason anytime something doesn't
  670. go my way something i
  671. really wanted doesn't happen then or
  672. something i really didn't want
  673. does happen i know it's for the best
  674. allah says
  675. and perhaps you hate a thing that is
  676. good for you and perhaps you love the
  677. thing that is bad for you
  678. allah knows what and with that
  679. i am content in the midst of this
  680. pandemic of people
  681. dying all around the world injustice all
  682. around us
  683. and people being evicted from their
  684. homes unfairly i find strength in the
  685. fact that with hardship
  686. comes ease last but not least
  687. do you not see that allah has made the
  688. heavens and the earth subservient to you
  689. astronomers say that there are over a
  690. hundred
  691. if sorry about that uh if you can give
  692. us just a brief moment i think uh the
  693. video was having some issues so we're
  694. going to go ahead and try to reload that
  695. for you all
  696. mashallah i uh make dua for all of the
  697. listeners
  698. meanwhile when you're sitting and
  699. enjoying the speeches make sure you
  700. hydrate you drink water you drink your
  701. tea
  702. you enjoy listening to our youth you
  703. enjoy listening to quran
  704. there is nothing that we're looking to
  705. accomplish tonight
  706. more than listening to the quran and
  707. enjoying the youth speeches and our
  708. scholars and guest speakers
  709. to be together in this environment of
  710. covid and everyone is distant
  711. so that's uh we're spending a night fee
  712. so um inshallah if sister sadia
  713. is the video um
  714. uh is the video ready alhamdulillah you
  715. can start it again
  716. with a sound and picture um
  717. these technical difficulties are
  718. expected to happen
  719. no matter what um
  720. please go with the next session
  721. inshallah i will rewind the video and
  722. we'll play
  723. after it no problem so
  724. let's see who we have next on the list
  725. actually i'm going to interject because
  726. um you know knowing that it's a
  727. difference of two to three hours
  728. my dear brother riyad shamma is with us
  729. from
  730. ohio masha'allah he also leads a youth
  731. organization
  732. he has a passion for creating
  733. mentors like teaching how our
  734. youth the older youth can mentor the
  735. younger youth
  736. when they mentor they themselves grow
  737. and they help the other youth grow so i
  738. don't know
  739. if uh brother riyad you're still with us
  740. here masha
  741. allah i am can you tell us a little bit
  742. about
  743. your organization 25 years ago when i
  744. met brother riyad
  745. we both did not have white hair now we
  746. both
  747. we were like a shiny redheads
  748. masha'allah
  749. and now you can see what time has done
  750. to us
  751. uh for inviting me i do remember our
  752. first
  753. meeting and how exciting it was uh to
  754. have you with us you brought so much
  755. energy masha'allah
  756. uh to the youth and that's uh always
  757. carried through for me
  758. uh i started the institute of youth
  759. development and excellence
  760. a number of years ago with the principle
  761. of
  762. enabling our youth to live to their
  763. fullest potential and that's our vision
  764. that every youth in the world will live
  765. to their fullest potential
  766. and we believe that happens by putting
  767. positive adults in their lives
  768. i.e mentors and that when mentors are
  769. trained they have the skills to best
  770. help the youth and help them grow and so
  771. about a club fake for all the work that
  772. you're doing
  773. there with the youth and inshallah we we
  774. really hope that
  775. others can start to step forward to get
  776. trained so that they're
  777. actually working with the youth in the
  778. very best of ways
  779. and of course people can check us out
  780. iyde.org
  781. or why transform dot com but uh
  782. insha allah i just want to share a few
  783. things about the quran however
  784. tonight and one of the key things was
  785. how do we make the quran impact our
  786. daily life
  787. and so the number one tip is read the
  788. quran
  789. every day of your life so you can't make
  790. it a part of your life if you're never
  791. spending time with it
  792. so number one is as dr iman had
  793. mentioned and some of the others
  794. make some time every day for quran even
  795. if it's just a little bit of time
  796. then make some day for all the quran
  797. number two i would say
  798. find a reciter that moves your heart you
  799. know mashallah we live in the digital
  800. age
  801. and any of us can get onto youtube and
  802. find a hundred or a thousand different
  803. reciters
  804. somebody out there will be reciting in a
  805. way that really
  806. moves your heart and and different types
  807. of recitation resonate with us
  808. differently
  809. but find someone with a beautiful
  810. recitation that
  811. that you particularly enjoy that
  812. connects your heart
  813. masha'allah our malaysian brothers uh
  814. what a beautiful recitation
  815. and and just subhanallah spend a little
  816. bit of time
  817. and what a great use of your time to to
  818. go through youtube and
  819. you're gonna get sucked down that social
  820. media hold but spend it
  821. being you know reviewing hundreds or
  822. dozens of different quran reciters
  823. uh and then figure out which ones speak
  824. to your heart
  825. then make sure that while you're
  826. listening to the quran you understand
  827. the quran
  828. so if you don't understand arabic and
  829. that might even be true even if you're
  830. an arab
  831. you're hearing the quran but you don't
  832. understand it read along in a language
  833. you understand
  834. a translation so as you're hearing the
  835. ayat and the verses
  836. you're understanding what's being said
  837. so that that
  838. movement of your heart is tied to an
  839. understanding
  840. and then ask allah to grant you insights
  841. and
  842. an understanding that moves you to
  843. actually taking
  844. some action in your life so have that
  845. again as dr eman said that to double
  846. that deep reflection and thinking
  847. so here in aya that for some reason it
  848. stirs your heart
  849. and then look at the meaning and
  850. translation and see
  851. what it's saying and then reflect upon
  852. why does this particular ayah
  853. stir your heart at this moment in time
  854. and understand that
  855. you might hear the same ayah 10 years
  856. from now and it moves you in a
  857. completely different way
  858. because allah opens a different
  859. understanding for you at that time
  860. and this is the beauty of the quran that
  861. you can never exhaust its meaning and
  862. its understanding
  863. and that's why you can keep going back
  864. to it over and over but really reflect
  865. upon
  866. that ayah read the tafsirs about it
  867. again you can find them online very
  868. easily
  869. and then most importantly take some
  870. action
  871. based on that ayah so
  872. inshallah this is something that all of
  873. us can do
  874. listen to the reciters that move our
  875. hearts read the meanings of the ayat
  876. and then reflect on them and figure out
  877. how you can take some action
  878. on that ayah whether it's motivating you
  879. to give
  880. or to volunteer or to forgive somebody
  881. or to turn back to allah or maybe it's
  882. to not lose hope
  883. or maybe it's something that gives you
  884. that
  885. sense of constant
  886. ease in times of hardship and difficulty
  887. but look for those ayats and then always
  888. keep them with you
  889. and implement them in your life
  890. insha'allah
  891. we have read the quran understand the
  892. quran
  893. in a language that you understand don't
  894. don't stop understanding the quran until
  895. you learn all the arabic language
  896. read english french persian urdu
  897. whatever you know you can understand and
  898. three
  899. take one concept implement it and enjoy
  900. it
  901. you know alhamdulillah we couldn't have
  902. a
  903. more concise precise advice on
  904. a night that could possibly be laylatul
  905. you know these words i grew up from age
  906. 13 growing up hearing them every year
  907. and you mentioned something absolutely
  908. profound
  909. you can hear the same thing every year
  910. and every year you will understand it on
  911. a deeper level because you're getting
  912. older
  913. wiser more experienced and life will hit
  914. you
  915. with so many things that you will always
  916. come back to the quran and find
  917. a deeper meaning uh masha allah what's
  918. the difference between us two or three
  919. hours
  920. three hours so
  921. you're almost having to eat your uh
  922. suhoor
  923. um we are um having
  924. uh and also another interjection uh
  925. we have uh uh alhamdulillah
  926. this will be a refreshing to remember
  927. tonight could be leila
  928. so i want to stop here and say may allah
  929. everyone that is watching
  930. your family your loved ones may allah
  931. give you
  932. health and wealth and barakah
  933. in your iman may allah give you a life a
  934. productive life
  935. a prosperous life a a a purposeful life
  936. may allah use you to
  937. serve humanity to serve his deen to
  938. serve the truth
  939. to honor allah's name on earth
  940. you know we can make dua all day long
  941. ya allah heal me ya allah finish my uh
  942. you know get rid of my financial
  943. problems ya allah get rid of my
  944. social problems okay let's say allah
  945. takes care of your health problems
  946. all of them financial problem all of
  947. them
  948. social problem all of them and now they
  949. have no problem
  950. you still don't have a purpose you need
  951. a purpose and a goal so that if allah
  952. will take all of this
  953. you're going to be and and that's why
  954. allah gave us
  955. a big problem so that when we get busy
  956. with the big problem we forget about
  957. the smaller problems the smaller
  958. problems will go away
  959. when you have a bigger problem so that's
  960. my advice to you and that's why i say
  961. allah make our concern humanity
  962. the planet muslims the truth
  963. allah goodness mercy
  964. enlightenment you know spreading justice
  965. peace eradicating
  966. poverty racism prejudicing
  967. all of these things that is why we're
  968. asking allah
  969. to take all of our problems away so that
  970. we can get busy
  971. with a bigger problem but we need to
  972. start getting busy with a bigger problem
  973. right now right here tonight
  974. make an intention that you want to give
  975. your entire life for allah
  976. and then go and conquer the world go to
  977. school
  978. go to college graduate
  979. open a business start your own company
  980. get rich and with that money turn around
  981. and change the world to a better place
  982. that's what we want to make dua with
  983. that may allah heal you from any
  984. sickness
  985. all of those who are sick including
  986. myself
  987. physically may allah heal us from all
  988. spiritual sickness
  989. from all the diseases of the heart from
  990. all the diseases of the
  991. mind and you know like the twisted mind
  992. may allah
  993. make us live a life of security and
  994. peace and happiness
  995. so that we are always busy and concerned
  996. how to guide people to the truth
  997. serve them give them justice give them
  998. mercy
  999. make the world a better place that's
  1000. what we want
1001. make big dreams brothers and sisters
  1002. only little
1003. don't make small dreams just yes just
  1004. heal me
1005. okay and allah will heal you insha allah
  1006. but then what
1007. make it make a big plan right make a big
  1008. resolution
1009. uh with that we want to refresh
1010. ourselves with surat al-qaeda inshallah
  1011. go ahead malik

1050. you have another program after this
  1051. inshallah and
1052. it is our time here in malaysia it's uh
  1053. 4 p.m
1054. already inshallah we are fasting
1055. thank you so much for the chance for
  1056. opportunity
1057. that was a beautiful recitation from
  1058. malik and now then
1059. she's from in team that really just you
  1060. know revives us here
1061. who are in the pm i am very pleased to
1062. announce our next guest speaker who is
1063. also one of our thewalsa youth
1064. it is um her name is zaineb and she will
1065. also be touching on the topic of how the
1066. quran has empowered her so without
1067. further ado i introduced zainab
1068. and to nourish our souls assalamu
  1069. alaikum everyone
1070. my name is zainab and today i'd like to
1071. talk about why the quran empowers me
1072. the quran empowers me because it shows
1073. me that everything happens for a reason
1074. anytime something doesn't go my way
  1075. something i really wanted doesn't happen
1076. or something i really didn't want does
1077. happen i know it's for the best
1078. allah says and perhaps you hate a thing
1079. that is good for you
1080. and perhaps you love a thing that is bad
1081. for you allah knows while you know not
1082. and with that i am content in the midst
1083. of this pandemic with people
1084. dying all around the world injustice all
  1085. around us
1086. and people being evicted from their
1087. homes unfairly i find strength in the
  1088. fact that with hardship
1089. comes ease last but not least the quran
1090. empowers me because it shows me that i'm
  1091. special
1092. in surah allah says do you not see
1093. that allah has made the heavens and the
  1094. earth subservient to you
1095. astronomers say that there are over a
1096. hundred billion galaxies in our universe
1097. yet when you look at a map from a bird's
  1098. eye point of view
1099. you'll see that in the grand scheme of
1100. things our universe is so small
1101. that we don't even exist yet allah has
1102. made the heavens and the earth and
1103. everything in our universe subservient
  1104. to us
1105. and i find that so powerful in
1106. conclusion the quran empowers me to be
  1107. content and more confident
  1108. thank you
1109. subhanallah it is so amazing to hear
1110. these strong words of wisdom from our
1111. muslim youth who have really interpreted
1112. the quran in their own way
1113. as a reminder to us all and with that i
1114. would like to introduce our next guest
  1115. who is also
1116. a fellow youth here at the wasa her name
1117. is maryam sirhan she is in college
1118. she has mentioned a lot memorizing the
  1119. entire and with
1120. mca and so without further ado
1121. i'd love for her to take the floor
1122. today i'm going to talk a little bit
1123. about how the quran empowers me
1124. so as i was growing up the quran was
1125. really kind of like a homework right and
1126. so it was like one of those things where
1127. you're like okay you know medium if you
1128. don't finish your foot and you don't get
1129. to play on the tablet
1130. or whatever it may be but as i grew up
1131. i realized the importance of kind of
  1132. getting
1133. these lessons and these meanings from
1134. the quran to relate to my own personal
  1135. life
1136. and it would kind of come in random
1137. times so it would be like the sheikh was
  1138. you know reciting
1139. that would be like wow you know that's
1140. kind of profound or even you know
1141. i was reading alone or whatever uh
  1142. whatever it was and
1143. one of the really big lessons that stood
1144. out to me in those times
1145. was the concept of forgiveness in the
1146. quran you know so many times
1147. uh so much about how allah forgives and
1148. about forgiveness in general and even
  1149. even you know the
1150. prophets when they made mistakes about
1151. how they also were forgiven
1152. and that stood out to me and empowered
1153. me as an individual because
1154. it was a matter of like also not only
  1155. allah forgiving me i
1156. i realized that if allah can forgive me
1157. then i have to try
1158. to forgive myself as well because when
1159. you're kind of living in the past and
  1160. you're living in the mistakes you've
  1161. made
1162. and you know you're always thinking oh
1163. it's over for me like i can't do this
  1164. you know i'm a terrible muslim
1165. then there's no growth you're not moving
  1166. forward you're only staying
1167. in the same place if not if not moving
  1168. backwards so
1169. that was a really big thing for me that
  1170. i have to
1171. find it in myself to kind of
1172. move forward instead of kind of thinking
1173. okay like i'm done for
1174. or um you know there's no there's no
  1175. going forward from here
1176. and so that was just a really big
1177. empowering moment an empowering lesson
1178. for me uh from the quran about
  1179. forgiveness and
1180. sometimes you know when we think about
1181. forgiveness think about others but not
1182. only others but also being able to
  1183. forgive yourself
1184. and learn from your mistakes as well
1185. two excellent video reminders from our
  1186. youth from
1187. zainab and maryam being that uh the
1188. topic tonight is all about the quran i
  1189. would love to
1190. um you know have one of our youth um
1191. recite some quran for us
1192. insha'allah so i'd love to welcome uh
1193. zainal abdeen for some quran
  1194. it's all yours

1217. his parents are from iraq his father is
  1218. a hafil himself
1219. he is a half of his sister is a half ira
  1220. masha allah
1221. he also teaches quran and
1222. he is looking for more students
1223. masha'allah that will be taught by him
1224. which is unbelievable to see our youth
1225. not only memorizing but wanting to teach
  1226. it and
  1227. help others memorize alhamdulillah
1228. so it's good to have you and we make dua
1229. for you brothers in we make du'a for
  1230. your father
1231. and masha allah talking about the
  1232. empowerment of the quran
1233. the father of brother zen subhan allah
1234. went into a car accident on the fifth
  1235. day of ramadan
1236. that no human can survive it can survive
1237. he was driving 65 miles per hour and
1238. suddenly the car in front of him
1239. stopped and he slammed into it and
1240. nothing he broke his thumb
1241. and the seat belt just pulled on the
  1242. middle
1243. uh bone and which caused the crack a
  1244. little bit
1245. but everyone is just wondering how is
  1246. this man still alive
1247. his name is brother imam hafiz
1248. he was the imam of the greatest and
1249. biggest university in iraq the iraq
1250. university with all of its diversity he
1251. was the imam of the masjid
1252. in that university and it is uh
1253. alhamdulillah we make dua allah heal
  1254. brother adele
1255. completely sooner than later give him
  1256. his health back
1257. make him live a long life full of good
1258. deeds and bless his children
  1259. and his progeny eliamine
1260. and may allah bless you brother
1261. he recited surah yusuf because yusuf is
1262. still alive in this youth
1263. uh yusuf said no to temptation
1264. yusuf did not answer hate with hate and
1265. revenge with revenge he did not
1266. do that uh and as a result allah made
  1267. him
1268. the the prince of egypt the man in
  1269. charge so
1270. we still have use of allah alive in our
  1271. youth
1272. who are still alive today with that i
  1273. would like to
1274. introduce my dear friend and
1275. like a confidante and consultant and
  1276. brother in islam
1277. and sheikh masha'allah imam tahir anwar
1278. who masha allah after a long night still
1279. agree to come and join us
1280. the floor is yours insha allah please a
1281. reminder of the quran and any comment
1282. you would like to give
  1283. him
  1284. to everyone um i it's been it's been a
1285. very very long day for me
  1286. uh alhamdulillah i i had uh
1287. three events earlier today and
1288. um just got done with the khatam at sbia
  1289. and honestly
1290. i was climbing into bed
1291. and my wife reminded me and said don't
1292. you have something you need to do right
  1293. now
  1294. it's a good stuff sometimes i share my
  1295. schedule with her
  1296. and i had honestly i had like i
1297. completely forgotten and i was getting
1298. ready to climb into bed and i said yes
1299. absolutely how you know how could i
  1300. forget and so
1301. here i am alhamdulillah by the father of
  1302. allah
1303. you are you uh you were alluding to such
  1304. a beautiful story of
1305. of uh use of alahi salatu
1306. you know when we look at the look at the
  1307. quran
1308. you know of course every story from the
  1309. quran is
1310. is an amazing beautiful one
1311. but you know when we when we talk about
1312. stories there's the story of musa
1313. alaihissalam there's the story of no
  1314. hare salam
1315. but there's one that's just really near
  1316. and dear
1317. to my heart of all stories
1318. is the story of ibrahim and isma'illa
  1319. the the relationship between
1320. um a father and son the relationship
  1321. between
  1322. a parent and a child
1323. and the story begins you know so humbly
  1324. and so
1325. beautifully um you know when when
  1326. ibrahim alaihim ali
1327. and his mother in the middle of the
  1328. desert in mecca
1329. and um you know and and
1330. and you know he when she when he started
  1331. walking away
1332. she asked him and said has has allah
1333. command you to do this
1334. like is this the command of allah and
1335. at that point she realized that this was
1336. the command of allah and at that point
  1337. she didn't
1338. question the fact that he was literally
1339. leaving her and her infant
1340. in the middle of the desert and and
1341. such a strong and powerful couple
1342. that you know they they had their
  1343. complete this
1344. against all odds they had their trust in
  1345. allah
1346. and then the mother performs an action
1347. just literally almost any any anyone
1348. would do this you know run from one
1349. place to the other like literally you
1350. know you're looking for food or looking
  1351. for something
1352. and and she just she just you know like
  1353. any mother would
1354. looking for water for herself and her
  1355. infant you know
1356. climbs to a hill because it's the
1357. highest place in the area and says hey
1358. you know maybe i can see something from
  1359. this hill and she
1360. she climbs the hill and looks around and
1361. doesn't find anything and then she
1362. strolls back down up to the next hill
1363. and looks for something there and
1364. the love the mother has for a child you
  1365. know
1366. um despite everything you know this this
1367. is the love a mother had for
1368. for her child and then you know there's
1369. there's just just in this story there's
1370. so much that allah reminds us to make
  1371. the effort
1372. but the result is with allah subhanahu
1373. wa right the results are always with
1374. allah we have to do our part
1375. and allah doesn't reward us based
1376. on the end result allah rewards us on
1377. the actions that we do to get there
1378. whether they end up resulting um you
  1379. know in
1380. uh you know in our favor or not and
1381. and subhanallah this running of this
1382. mother from one place to the other
1383. literally becomes an act of ibadah and
  1384. worship
  1385. for generations to come
1386. until the day of judgment that
  1387. it's such a powerful
1388. form of worship and then of course allah
  1389. subhanahu wa
1390. allah blessed them with zamzam and you
1391. know we just as muslims we kind of go on
1392. umrah or hajj and just drink the zamzam
1393. and bring some back and
  1394. you know we're reminded that there's
1395. shifa in this and so on and so forth
1396. but like just think of the legacy right
1397. something as simple as a well and and
  1398. how it began
1399. right the love between a mother and a
  1400. child
1401. is where it all began right the love
  1402. between a mother and a child
1403. is is where it all began and that you
  1404. know
1405. billions of individuals drink from it
1406. you know on on a regular basis on an
  1407. annual basis and
1408. god knows bring you know take takes they
1409. take it back with them wherever they go
1410. we believe that there's shifa
1411. in the water there's acceptance of duas
  1412. in the water
1413. but really while it happens to be holy
1414. if you come to think of it it's just
1415. really a well and and it started with
1416. the story of a mother and a child
1417. right and then the gift that allah
  1418. subhanahu wa
1419. blessed them with of course we move you
1420. know they built the kaaba
1421. and they made dua to allah for
1422. acceptance but one of the things
1423. and you know we we when we think about
1424. all of this is that is that is the dua
  1425. of ibrahim
1426. ibrahim the quran is filled with a lot
  1427. of duas
1428. and many of those duas happen to be
  1429. in the quran
1430. right the the dua that we make make for
  1431. salah
1432. make you know make me amongst those who
1433. establish prayer and from my progeny
1434. oh allah accept my prayers there's
1435. another place where allah says and this
  1436. is
1437. the two of us those who submit to you
1438. and our progenies until the
  1439. day of judgment
1440. in other words that you know of all the
  1441. things that we
1442. continue to do in life uh never
  1443. ever forget that um
1444. we can never achieve success without
  1445. certain foundations
  1446. okay certain foundations and
1447. the first foundation is our
1448. one of the rights of allah and that is
  1449. prayer
1450. right like no matter what happens
  1451. whether
1452. our mind is present whether our heart is
  1453. present or not
1454. whether we feel like it or not because a
1455. lot of times people feel like
1456. you know what's the point in me praying
1457. if my mind is not present or what's the
1458. point in me praying if i don't feel like
1459. praying or what's the point of me
1460. praying if i'm forced to pray
1461. it doesn't matter we we are a people of
1462. a tradition the ulama our pious
1463. predecessors the scholars remind us
1464. that even if you are forced to pray even
1465. if it's hard to pray even if your mind
1466. and heart is not present pray because it
1467. will eventually become a habit
1468. and then slowly that habit will turn
1469. into something that you enjoy it may
  1470. take some time
1471. it's struggle but there's we can never
  1472. achieve any success
  1473. whatsoever without salah without
  1474. establishing
1475. our prayer and if there's one thing that
  1476. i you know if
1477. i can share this evening or this morning
1478. uh with with all of us and myself
  1479. included
1480. and you know i like all of you uh you
1481. know there's a lot of young people that
  1482. have logged on
1483. uh like all of you i i was young at one
  1484. time
1485. you know there's days when i still think
  1486. i'm young
1487. um but you know i was young and i
1488. struggled you know we all we've all been
1489. through this waking up for fajr
1490. you know is challenging sometimes you
1491. know the middle of the day there's a
1492. prayer that needs to be done and you
1493. know you're busy or at school or you
1494. know you're not in the most best place
  1495. to pray
1496. in the evening you're home you're tired
1497. but we have to keep in mind that
1498. our success right literally our success
1499. the doors of god's mercy the doors of
1500. god's blessings open up for us
1501. with prayer and you know sometimes we
  1502. feel like
1503. oh but no my life is still hard i mean
1504. think about it you know the terms easy
1505. and hard are very very relative
1506. right they're very very very relative
  1507. i mean if if
1508. subhanallah i don't mean to say this but
1509. i just want people to think about this
1510. for for the vast majority of us if
1511. if our lives remain status quo
1512. we received nothing more than what we
  1513. just have right now
1514. we would still be amongst the top one
1515. percent of the people in the world
1516. right just in terms of our
1517. you know access to luxuries you know
1518. health care hot wa water
1519. i won't even say hot water fresh water
1520. you know health care yes i understand
1521. the american health care system is
  1522. messed up
1523. and you know and i know about this very
  1524. well as as
1525. you know people who have individuals in
  1526. our families who
1527. you know have uh health issues but
1528. despite that you can get it my family is
  1529. from india
1530. my family is from india right now we as
1531. you know as india so so the mother assad
1532. that i studied at you know i studied it
1533. i studied there for seven or eight years
1534. they along with a local hospital came
1535. together and converted one of the large
1536. halls in the madrasa as a covid
1537. hospital okay um we all sent money you
  1538. know i mean
1539. even i got a request you know please
1540. send some money we went so we all you
1541. know whatever we could do
1542. you know all of us students people from
  1543. that town we all
1544. sent in money as we normally would
  1545. subhanallah
1546. you we have all we have the beds we have
  1547. everything set up
1548. but something as simple as oxygen can't
  1549. find it anywhere
1550. the the supplies the supplies that have
  1551. been sent
1552. uh as aid to this land
1553. um have not been distributed why because
  1554. they're probably being sold
1555. in the in in you know in in this you
  1556. know in
1557. in a market where you know whoever has
1558. top dollar will get the supplies in
1559. other words the poor and needy are not
  1560. getting it
1561. if you happen to be of a certain faith
1562. background a certain ethnic background
1563. you're not getting those services
1564. there's no way you will ever ever see
  1565. those supplies
1566. right and so you know subhanallah
1567. and i'm not saying that we ask allah for
1568. status quo all i'm saying is that
1569. when we continue to pray sometimes we
  1570. may not
1571. get everything that we so desire but
1572. let's not forget that some of the things
1573. that we have in life
1574. right now could simply be with us as a
1575. result of the prayers that we're already
  1576. doing
1577. right we may not have the luxuries in
1578. life but we may have the basic
1579. necessities in life as a result of our
  1580. prayers
1581. the second takeaway from this entire uh
  1582. you know story
1583. is uh the love uh between um you know a
  1584. parent and a child
  1585. um you know i i i'm you know i i will be
1586. the first one you know subhanallah the
  1587. muslim community has grown
1588. um and you know you have a lot of youth
  1589. programs
1590. events mosques mosques that have
  1591. services in english
1592. you know when i was when i was a young
1593. man growing up here in san jose
  1594. california
1595. in the 80s and the 90s you could forget
1596. about half of the things that you know a
1597. lot of young men and women have today
  1598. and i don't i don't mean to say like oh
1599. my god you know you guys are
1600. no i'm just i'm just trying to state a
1601. fact here right just state a fact here
1602. that you know um you know immigrant you
1603. know immigrant parents were all the same
1604. like if if a lot of if a lot of you feel
1605. that your parents or some of your elders
  1606. you know
1607. uncles and aunties at the mosque they
  1608. don't understand our challenges
1609. trust me 20 years ago 25 years ago
1610. it was a whole different level of not
1611. understanding your challenges if you
1612. know what i'm saying like at least today
1613. our parents you know go to the khutba
1614. they probably walk away with something
1615. you know about modern day culture
1616. and you know um issues that young men
  1617. and women have
1618. at the local you know in their
  1619. communities 20 25 years ago
1620. you know that was like parents just went
1621. to the khutba just kind of heard
  1622. whatever
1623. you know and i'm not i'm not trying to
1624. bad mouth to show you or the mosques or
1625. anyone that's not the goal that's not
1626. the intent that's not the point i'm
  1627. trying to make
1628. it's just that if if some of us if some
1629. of us young men and women have a hard
  1630. time thinking that
1631. you know our my parents don't get it
  1632. trust me 25
1633. those of us that are in our you know 40s
1634. now that have lived here for this many
  1635. years
1636. like 25 years ago if you think parents
1637. don't get it now they totally didn't get
  1638. it
1639. but it was not it was not to any fault
  1640. of theirs
  1641. like don't blame them you know it's it's
  1642. it's it's part of the immigrant
  1643. experience it's just
1644. part of you know um cultures you're kind
  1645. of not
1646. our parents are kind of not there but
  1647. they're not here
1648. if that makes sense right they're not
1649. here they're not there when they go back
1650. home wherever it may be
1651. syria palestine pakistan egypt india
1652. you know indonesia wherever they go it's
1653. almost like oh you're not from here
  1654. you're a foreigner you know what i'm
  1655. saying
1656. and then when they're for when they're
  1657. here it's like oh
1658. okay but you know yes we're americans
1659. but what does that even mean
1660. you know so they're even they're trying
  1661. to figure this out
1662. so you know and it took me a little
1663. while to figure this out and i feel
1664. happy to be in a place where i could
1665. share this with you guys that
1666. you know um you know give our parents
1667. give our parents a break at times
1668. give them a break just because they
1669. sometimes don't understand some of the
  1670. things that we do
1671. um does not give us the the hup or the
  1672. right to disobey them
1673. does not give us the huck or the right
1674. to you know um scold them
1675. to speak with them um you know with with
  1676. a bitter tongue
1677. um you know and and just earned their
  1678. respect and
1679. i'm telling you this and i might have
1680. shared this with you and some of you
1681. might have heard this before
1682. um you know i mean some of you might
  1683. have seen my father
1684. definitely don't know him per se but you
1685. know she's of course knows him
1686. you know my dad growing up was just a
  1687. very old school
1688. very conservative um a parent and and
1689. you know honestly sometimes i feel like
1690. it was a beautiful thing you know i mean
1691. i'm not you know growing up it might
1692. have been a little hard
1693. but over the years as i got older
1694. i figured this out very very soon and
  1695. very very early
1696. and some of my older cousins from
1697. england gave me this advice they said
  1698. listen
1699. your parents come from a culture where
1700. they want to be respected
1701. okay our parents come from a culture
1702. where they want to be respected
1703. and if even in your most bitter moments
  1704. and even if
1705. even if in your most angry moments you
1706. can maintain their dignity and respect
1707. you will win them over and when you win
  1708. them over
1709. then they will do everything you say and
1710. i can tell you this from from my own
  1711. personal experience
1712. um you know my father is in his mid to
  1713. late 70s
1714. um he has changed so much
1715. in the last 20 years but even the last
1716. you know people think that once you get
  1717. older you don't change
1718. much and it's hard change is very hard
  1719. when you get older
1720. and even in the last 10 years i've seen
  1721. my own father change
1722. so much changed so much of his views
1723. changed so much of his interactions
1724. because because you know i'm able to
1725. have that conversation with my dad and
1726. and he respects he respects and this is
1727. not about me being imam tahir really
  1728. okay i don't want i don't want you to
1729. think like oh yeah but your mom taught
  1730. her no
1731. it's not about me being about just me
1732. being about a respectful son where my
1733. father says oh okay you know what
1734. i'm able to have a conversation have dad
1735. you know have you thought about this
  1736. from this perspective
1737. like you know they you know it's like
1738. yeah maybe not and they may not say it
  1739. in front of you
1740. but they think you know and so that's
1741. what we take away young men and women
1742. your our our rights with allah
1743. and and our rights with our parents
  1744. it'll take us a long way
  1745. if anything if anything
1746. it'll take us to paradise okay if
  1747. anything
1748. is going to take us to paradise and
  1749. that's what we're all on that's where we
1750. all want to get eventually but
1751. in addition to that it makes our life
  1752. here easier as well
1753. now i will also add that i know many
1754. young men and women have come my way and
1755. you know some of their parents have just
  1756. been you know
1757. um just very very difficult and very
  1758. very hard
1759. honestly that's what these blessed
1760. nights are for raise your hands and make
1761. dua to allah say allah my
1762. my father or my mother they just don't
1763. understand something about my life it
  1764. could be something around
1765. school career marriage you know
  1766. different things and
1767. like genuinely raise your hands and and
  1768. and
1769. and make do up for them um i i have a
  1770. friend
1771. um you know uh growing up and you know
  1772. we grew up together
1773. um here in california and um you know
1774. father became the family was initially
1775. not very practicing at all
1776. um and this is a this is years and years
1777. and years ago um you know
1778. maybe even before your parents got
1779. married let alone anything else but
1780. you know his father became practicing
  1781. very soon
1782. and and a mother on the other hand was
1783. not practicing at all in fact
1784. you know she was on the deep end of not
1785. practicing if that makes sense
1786. and again we're not bad mouthing anyone
1787. i'm just trying to explain to you as an
  1788. example that's all i'm saying
1789. and um and he would always tell me that
  1790. you know
1791. my father and this was when his father
1792. was relatively younger in his 30s and
  1793. 40s
1794. he said my father wakes up in the middle
1795. of the night and makes so much dua for
  1796. my mom
1797. right makes so much dua for my mom and
1798. of course from the over the years things
  1799. changed and you know
1800. it shall look you know it's just amazing
1801. but what i mean to say is
1802. ladies and gentlemen the power of prayer
  1803. is very strong
1804. don't give up on prayer don't give up on
  1805. prayer
1806. um and and you know we you know with
1807. prayer comes with a lot of other
1808. responsibilities sometimes we feel like
  1809. oh yeah
1810. i'm gonna raise my hands for about four
1811. minutes ask allah and then wake up in
1812. the morning and then disobey allah you
1813. know like go back to my regular life
  1814. well
1815. kind of doesn't work that way you know
  1816. what i'm saying like it's a package deal
1817. you got to put it all together you got
1818. to stitch all the pieces together to
1819. make it actually eventually work if you
1820. don't stitch all the pieces together
1821. it's not going to happen
1822. so yeah that's that's really all um you
  1823. know i have to share i don't i don't
1824. have a lot to say
1825. god bless you all i'm happy to see all
1826. of you online this late in the morning
1827. or or this late at night and may may
1828. allah bless you and your families
  1829. sorry about that
1830. we said this will be a relaxing uh event
  1831. alhamdulillah
1832. and everybody is is welcome and uh
  1833. masha'allah
1834. for the reminders relationships with our
  1835. parents
1836. aside from the quran that we need to be
  1837. reminded of
1838. tonight make dua for your parents
1839. parents make dua for your children and
1840. let's all make dua for one another may
  1841. allah make our relationship
  1842. amazing and beautiful
1843. for coming and joining us and may allah
  1844. give you a blessed
1845. what one hour of sleep you know
1846. barely anything if you give me
  1847. permission i will i will take
1848. leave as i have to um i have something
1849. to do early in the morning
1850. of course thank you so much and i see i
  1851. see my dear friend
1852. hussein so maulana good to see you
  1853. brother man it's been a while
1854. next uh our brother mufti hussain kamani
  1855. uh
1856. talking to us are you in dallas mufti
  1857. yes
1858. sharing with us on this blessed night um
1859. at a faculty at the kalam institute
1860. and i don't want to take much because
1861. time is ticking and they're close to
  1862. suhoor
1863. so may allah reward you i met mufi
1864. hussein kamani 10 years ago
1865. if not more actually more 15 years ago
  1866. at isla convention
1867. and he gave me two thub as a gift
  1868. masha'allah
1869. which i actually gifted to my two sons
1870. and they were the coolest two kids in
  1871. the masjid
1872. everyone was asking where in the world
1873. did you get that though
1874. man and it was the clothing line of
1875. mufti hussein kamani which still
  1876. actually exists kamani
1877. but that's just a side item we are
1878. in the 27th night getting empowered by
  1879. the quran
1880. inshallah give us a boost
  1881. foreign
1882. so i'm going to attempt to explain
  1883. something
  1884. that's a little intricate but
1885. uh i'm going to attempt to do it anyway
1886. so i need you guys to give me all the
  1887. attention you can muster
1888. i also have limited time bakari
  1889. mentioned our
1890. suhoor is just an hour away and what
1891. just about an hour from now it's going
1892. to end so it's going to end and i'm
1893. still at the masjid because we just
  1894. finished
1895. right now i still have to go home so we
1896. have a short window and i'm going to try
1897. to fit the census give me your undivided
1898. attention let's see if we can do this
1899. there is an ayah in which allah says
1900. that when my servants ask you of me or
  1901. messenger of allah
  1902. say i am near.
1903. i answer the call of the one who calls
1904. up to me whenever they call out itadan
1905. so they should respond to me well you
1906. know they should believe in me
1907. they may be rightly guided this ayah
  1908. talks about
1909. calling out to allah making the law of
1910. allah and when you look at the verses
  1911. before and after
1912. someone may argue it doesn't fit in
1913. because there are some filthy rulings
1914. that come before islamic law
1915. issues and then this ayah comes in
1916. and then the ayahs continue on with some
1917. other rulings what's this ayah doing in
  1918. the middle
1919. such an intimate beautiful ayah so i
  1920. wanted to examine
1921. that question that issue and try to
  1922. understand
1923. and i feel like if we're able to
1924. understand it there could be great
1925. and tremendous benefit for all of us if
1926. we come a few ayats back we find allah
  1927. subhanahu wa
  1928. saying
1929. fasting has been made obligated upon you
1930. so you may gain consciousness of allah
1931. now when it comes to purification of the
1932. lower self what we call the nafs
1933. the human being is basically suspended
  1934. between two forces
1935. the first force is what we call the
  1936. which likes
1937. it likes to rise connect with the sub
1938. and then underneath the is what we call
  1939. the
1940. the self of the human being and
1941. underneath that column is the nafs the
  1942. lower
1943. in san haiwani material loving
1944. force in the life of the human being
1945. maybe what sigmund freud referred to as
  1946. the it
1947. so there's a lower pulling force and
1948. there's an upward pulling force and then
1949. in the middle there is the south in sun
  1950. that houses
1951. now now when because there is an
  1952. overwhelming
1953. force that's constantly pulling us to
  1954. materialism into
1955. worldly distractions into sometimes even
1956. disobeying allah subhanahu wa ta'ala
1957. speak of the importance of purifying
  1958. yourself of that
1959. now how do you go around purifying
  1960. yourself so
1961. there are two principled approaches they
1962. take the first is what they call tahlia
1963. which is to purify to clean the heart
1964. and then the second is tahlia which is
  1965. to beautify
1966. so a simple analogy if for example
1967. here wants to take a picture of the of
1968. the shelf behind him and post it
1969. on instagram what he needs to do first
1970. is first he needs to clean it up make
1971. sure he gets rid of all the gunk all the
  1972. garbage all the dust
1973. any crumbs he has and wrappers get rid
1974. of all of it clean it up
1975. and then he needs to bring in the props
1976. bring in all the decor
1977. bring in the books that he wants to
1978. showcase or any lighting that he wants
1979. so first you have to clean and then you
  1980. beautify this is why
1981. we say la ilaha first and then ii
1982. la ilaha is a negation it's you
  1983. purifying
  1984. it's cleaning it's
1985. an affirmation it's you beautifying your
  1986. heart and adding
1987. the most absolute truth into your life
1988. which is that only allah
1989. exists so now when we go back to the
1990. ayah we find allah in this ayah tells us
  1991. to
1992. fast and fasting is about negating
1993. you're not doing something in fasting
  1994. you're negating in fasting you're
  1995. negating
1996. submission to your carnal passion you're
  1997. negating submission
1998. to your appetite you're learning to say
1999. no to your own nuts that i won't do it i
  2000. won't do it i won't do it
2001. for the sake of allah otherwise hunger
  2002. itself
  2003. doesn't result in spirituality it's
2004. hunger for the sake of allah
2005. that takes a person on the whole journey
  2006. without the sound intention
2007. actions themselves don't carry much
  2008. weight this is what
2009. makes the awliya of allah the friends of
2010. allah unique that their actions lead
  2011. their ahmad
2012. well for us lead our actions where we're
2013. trying to constantly catch up with
  2014. intentions because
2015. our actions aren't just meaningless or
  2016. mundane they're going
  2017. happening you know anyway
2018. now if you look at the ayah after that
2019. allah subhanahu wa then says
2020. so the first ayah is about refraining
  2021. the second ayah
  2022. is about engaging beautifying
2023. as a month of the quran of allah when it
2024. took me right that way
2025. glorify praise allah and if you do this
2026. you will be perhaps thankful to allah
2027. with god so when you
2028. negate your submission to your lower
2029. self and you stand up against temptation
2030. and you say i won't give in
2031. when you become aware of it when you say
2032. no to the nephs you become aware of
2033. yourself it's almost a moment of birth
  2034. like you're breaking that
2035. collar off of your neck from shaytan and
  2036. you're saying i'm done
2037. and then as you begin to praise allah
2038. you're watering that plant and then you
2039. begin to see the soul come to life
2040. and perhaps you'll thank allah and in
  2041. these na in these
2042. nights of ramadan these days of ramadan
2043. after almost 25 plus days of fasting
2044. the nufs has taken a beating all that no
2045. no no and then on top of that
2046. all of us it's giving the soul some
2047. some strength and when these two things
  2048. come together
2049. now the insane spirit of the insane is
  2050. released
2051. and the first place it wants to go is to
2052. connect back with allah as it's
2053. natural disposition of the inside to
  2054. connect with allah
2055. and as it wants to grow and elevate and
  2056. connect to allah
  2057. now allah answers
2058. as soon as that soul is released it's
2059. going to come searching for me
2060. and muhammad when they go searching for
2061. me tell them that i'm close
  2062. i was always close i actually didn't go
  2063. anywhere
2064. i was right next to you unfortunately
2065. you were fogged unfortunately you were
  2066. blind
2067. you didn't see it but i've always been
  2068. here waiting for you
2069. waiting for the moment that you would
  2070. turn back
  2071. unfortunately our relationship with
2072. allah subhanahu wa has become like that
  2073. of a cashier
2074. where we acknowledge their existence we
  2075. transact with one another
2076. but there's no affection love needs to
2077. be brought back into this relationship
2078. because as long as we continue on this
2079. path of worshiping allah without loving
  2080. him
2081. i'm not sure how much spiritual benefit
  2082. we're going to gain
2083. and how many more people will be lost in
  2084. this battle
2085. who will see no value in worshiping
  2086. allah
2087. these movements represent our submission
2088. but ultimately submission is of heart
2089. our purpose in life while we live in
2090. order for us to start our journey
2091. back to allah to connect with allah
  2092. starts with us
2093. admitting our buddhia that we are slaves
  2094. and servants of allah
2095. when i go into sajdah i'm going to have
2096. to kick the arrogance out the window
2097. and if i i'm not willing to do that
2098. there's no such thing acceptable
2099. so many things to say so little time
2100. but i'll leave it there and i pray that
2101. allah grants us still fear
2102. i wanted to thank chef bakari for
  2103. inviting me honestly
2104. um his love is just so unwarranted i
  2105. can't tell you guys
2106. it's so unwarranted his love is just
  2107. overwhelming
  2108. i remember i think i met his brother
2109. once in indiana and i thought it was
2110. hey he said i get that a lot and then he
  2111. told me of his
2112. uh dean was in the bay area
2113. but anyway i'm very thankful to him for
2114. inviting me once again and for
2115. allowing me to be with you all folks it
2116. was great being here with you
2117. i ask you all to keep me in your duas
2118. maybe one of you is
2119. all of you are the only and i'm in need
2120. of those duas so if you can
2121. in that moment when you raise your hand
2122. and if you find yourself at the moment
  2123. of sincerity
2124. say this sinner's name before your lord
2125. too for we hope for someone's
  2126. intercession
2127. to reach our abode in the hereafter
  2128. allah
2129. thank you for answering our invitation
  2130. um and
2131. uh may allah bless your health your
  2132. wealth your
2133. family put barakah because this is
  2134. allah said
2135. is actually with us from indonesia
2136. he teaches quran and masha'allah his
  2137. brother here
2138. is now leading salah at wvma
2139. and it's uh his brother ibrahim
2140. and uh masha'allah they are a family of
  2141. her father family of
2142. and they're beautiful and amazing and
  2143. masha allah
2144. i the original intention that it was
2145. recite for us quran but i asked him
2146. right now to if he can give us
2147. a nasheed he's well known in indonesia
2148. well known teacher well sought after
2149. their teacher they are from yemen masha
  2150. allah their teacher
2151. has one of the highest is not all the
  2152. way
2153. uh to prophet muhammad when he memorized
  2154. the quran
2155. his teacher from the teacher to the
2156. teacher to the teacher is
2157. one of the highest ejazzas in the world
2158. recognized so much allah blessed family
2159. if you first could yani recite for us
  2160. maybe just two ayat
2161. and then after that you can give us some
2162. nasheed insha allah we want to hear your
  2163. voice in the
  2164. [Music]
  2165. um
  2166. um
  2167. oh
  2168. [Music]
  2169. [Music]
  2170. [Music]
  2171. [Laughter]
  2172. go
  2173. [Music]
  2174. [Music]
  2175. [Music]
2176. who's carrying the quran you
2177. are a beacon of light you are a source
  2178. of guidance you
2179. are a source of joy uh you
2180. you see the world differently you're
2181. gonna be up for a lot of challenges
2182. so that's the song about the carrier the
  2183. hamil
2184. of al-quran in sha allah ibraheem
  2185. we will allah
2186. so i told him we're going back to him
2187. inshaallah allah ask brother shafiq to
  2188. introduce our next speaker
  2189. thank you
2190. our next speaker is a young man a very
  2191. talented youth
2192. he's also you know a product of tawasa
2193. very heavily involved um omar wasim he's
  2194. an amazing
2195. filmmaker and photographer actually he
  2196. went um
2197. he went with the wall saw on an amazing
2198. morocco trip where he documented it
2199. using his videography skills and uh
2200. i'm sure he has a lot to tell us about
2201. that um he graduated high school last
2202. year and i think he's now taking a gap
2203. year to pursue different things
2204. he has a a clothing line as well
2205. mashallah is a very busy youth and i
2206. pray to allah that he continues to use
  2207. his
2208. creative talent to empower uh the quran
  2209. and to
2210. shine light on the quran to other youth
  2211. like him uh
2212. it's all yours brother all right well
  2213. jazakallah for the introduction
2214. um all right so i guess at some point if
2215. you're scrolling through instagram or
2216. facebook you might have come across the
  2217. motivational quote that reads
2218. you're the sum of the five people
  2219. closest to you or
2220. my personal favorite surround yourself
2221. with five millionaires and you will be
  2222. the sixth
2223. like okay like how am i supposed to just
  2224. find five millionaires
2225. in fact i personally find it even harder
2226. to believe when i remember that
2227. i know people that google google
2228. but anyways um beyond the e-commerce
  2229. motivational guru posts
2230. i think there's a lot of truth in the
  2231. importance of uh
2232. surrounding yourself with the right
2233. people i'm gonna share my story i was
  2234. very
2235. easily influenced kid in middle school
2236. and that could have gone very wrong but
  2237. alhamdulillah i joined a hips program
2238. and what this meant was that i was
  2239. always surrounded by
2240. students and teachers of the quran my
  2241. his friends and i
2242. all embraced our muslim identity pretty
2243. early on and anytime we had questions or
  2244. any
2245. type of problem in our life our chefs
2246. would like always sort it out for us
2247. and because of the way the program was
2248. because of the way the program was
  2249. structured
2250. i spent basically all of my teenage
  2251. years at the masjid
2252. my closest friends are people i've met
2253. through my programs and i even got my
  2254. first in-person job
2255. through the masjid and credit to sheikh
  2256. for that
2257. alhamdulillah i feel like my overarching
2258. outlook on life has always been pretty
  2259. positive
2260. i've never dealt with you know addiction
2261. or anything else that people my age
  2262. sometimes fall into
2263. and a large part of that is because of
2264. my parents but when i was writing this
2265. speech i talked to some of my friends
2266. and we all agreed that it is harder to
2267. fall into the wrong things
2268. when you are constantly surrounded by
2269. people of god and that sense of
  2270. community
2271. is probably like the best most
  2272. empowering gift
2273. that the quran could have given me the
2274. prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam says
2275. a person is on the way of life of his
2276. companions therefore let every one of
2277. you carefully consider the company he
  2278. keeps
2279. um i think we're not to jinx anything i
2280. think we're almost nearing the end of
2281. covet inshallah and most of the events
2282. are definitely starting to pick up again
2283. so try to make it a priority to show up
2284. to at least a few
2285. um they're always a good time and you
2286. know you could make more
2287. you could make new friends or you could
2288. tighten your bonds with your muslim
2289. friends that you already have
2290. i see a lot of i guess my high school
2291. friends and a couple of college students
  2292. here
2293. so my parting words to sound
2294. philosophical are surround yourself with
  2295. five millionaires
2296. and you might be the sixth but surround
2297. yourself with just one person
2298. who pushes you closer to allah and
2299. inshallah you'll never have to worry
2300. about going down the wrong path
2301. that was a lot of wise words from you
  2302. quite
2303. late in the night and it's honestly
2304. great to hear i love hearing
2305. how ortho also you really interpret this
2306. and you know really have their own
  2307. experiences to share
2308. um as we you know delve into this so
2309. that was great um and by the way i
2310. realized you did your hives with
2311. mca nour which is great um you are now
2312. the second speaker here who we have
2313. as a product of that which is honestly
2314. quite great to hear um
2315. next we have another though also youth
2316. who i'm very excited to introduce her
  2317. name is dima
2318. she have a she has a speech lined up for
  2319. us and
2320. without further ado dima the floor is
2321. yours i am very excited to hear what you
  2322. have to say
2323. what i just said we say at least 17
  2324. times every single day
2325. but do we truly understand what it means
2326. when we say allah is
2327. the most gracious the most merciful
2328. because allah he created every little
  2329. microscopic cell
2330. he created humans he created the earth
2331. he created galaxies and universes
2332. and he created the seven heavens and in
  2333. comparison to his throne
2334. his ash alone the seven heavens and
2335. everything in them is like a ring it's
  2336. like a ring that's lost
2337. in a desert allah does not need us we
  2338. are so
2339. small and we are so insignificant and
2340. yet all we have to do is raise our hands
2341. and speak to him and he listens to us
  2342. and he provides
2343. and he sustains and the quran in and of
  2344. itself is a blessing
2345. because allah could have just let
2346. humanity be he could have let us ruin
2347. ourselves because we would ruin
  2348. ourselves
2349. he could have let us ruin our lives and
  2350. destroy but he sent
2351. down guidance and it's only when we
2352. really understand how merciful allah is
2353. that we can practice that good trusting
  2354. him
2355. because we live we live in a world where
  2356. we
2357. are made to believe that if we want
2358. something really hard or if we
2359. if we work really hard for it if we want
2360. it really badly then we'll get it and
2361. when we don't we can feel defeated
2362. um personally a few years ago i had some
  2363. friends
2364. um best friends actually we used to talk
2365. about like how our kids would hang out
  2366. but
2367. something happened in the group
2368. dismantled and i really wanted to save
  2369. our friendship
2370. like these were my friends for like
  2371. multiple years but
  2372. i did everything i could like i gave
2373. them space i gave them time i tried to
2374. talk to them but it just wasn't
  2375. salvageable
2376. and like that was a really hard period
2377. in my life but it wasn't
2378. until i lost those friends that i was
2379. able to get closer to some of the
2380. greatest people in my life
2381. and that's when i really understood that
2382. things happened for a reason
2383. that allah had a better plan for me i
2384. just didn't see it at that time
2385. another instance actually recently was
  2386. choosing a mentor i was in a program
2387. where we could choose our mentor
2388. and i had my heart set on this one
2389. person and i believed i would get this
2390. person because we had bonded and it was
  2391. like
2392. like it was a perfect match but i didn't
2393. get them and my heart sank
2394. what's upon allah like if i had known
2395. the mentor i did end up getting i would
2396. have chosen this person from the
  2397. beginning
2398. so it just goes to show that we really
  2399. don't know anything
2400. we may think we know what we want we may
2401. think we know what's best for us
  2402. but only
2403. there is no god but him and upon allah
  2404. let the believers rely
2405. we have to trust allah's plans we have
  2406. to do our part
2407. we have to tie our camel but we also
2408. have to have the faith
2409. we have we also have to have faith that
2410. whatever allah has planned for us
2411. is best for us we may not see it and we
  2412. may not feel it
2413. but if we know and i mean truly
2414. understand that allah is the
  2415. all-gracious
2416. the all-merciful then who else would you
  2417. trust with your fate
  2418. will
2419. that was really insightful and another
2420. great reminder of how you know rarely
2421. allah is the greatest of planners
2422. and it's always a good reminder to hear
2423. that um i will now pass it back to
2424. and he can help us close the event
  2425. inshaallah
2426. we have last two three segments they're
  2427. all short alhamdulillah
2428. including the speech of uh imam
2429. zaitshakir may allah reward him
2430. um i would like to ask our young
  2431. brother yaseen masha
2432. this night has been full of youth who
  2433. are half of
2434. or active or uh you know masha'allah
2435. you know on the right path very
  2436. reassuring to see this
2437. and inshaallah will may allah you know
2438. keep them going so here we have brother
2439. yaseen masha allah go ahead
2440. if you can recite for us from surat
  2441. maryam the few verses
  2442. about saydna yahya ali
  2443. me
  2444. [Music]
  2445. um
  2446. [Music]
  2447. [Music]
  2448. [Music]
  2449. [Music]
  2450. [Music]
  2451. [Music]
  2452. [Music]
  2453. [Music]
2454. how old are you uh 20 years old
2455. and when did you finish your heaven and
2456. i finished my head around six years ago
2457. six years ago masha'allah you your
  2458. father
2459. is from somalia your mother is from
2460. nigeria and you spent how many years in
  2461. yemen learning
2462. um i i live in saudi for around two uh
2463. two and a half years yeah
  2464. that's awesome a beautiful voice
  2465. beautiful delivery
2466. and jazakallahu for joining us tonight
  2467. alhamdulillah
  2468. um masha'allah um we're we're gonna move
  2469. on inshaallah
2470. uh with our uh program and
2471. we have the last uh two three segments
2472. i'm looking here we have the video of
2473. uh imam zaid shakar who recorded a
  2474. message
2475. to us alhamdulillah as he was on the
  2476. east coast and uh
2477. time was impossible as a matter of fact
  2478. tonight we had sister
2479. yasmin mujahid she thought that she
  2480. could make it
2481. but then she realized it will be exactly
2482. the time of suhoor in new york so she
2483. uh asked for our permission to uh opt
2484. out and alhamdulillah we didn't pressure
  2485. her
2486. so alhamdulillah we have a lot of good
  2487. line of speakers
2488. uh sister sadio if we can run the
  2489. message of sheikh zayche
2490. and i'm greeting all of the wonderful
2491. brothers and sisters complete uh
2492. participating rather at any level
2493. in the mca youth kian
2494. the mca youth kiam has brought together
  2495. teachers
2496. such as sheikh al-addin and beckery and
  2497. others
2498. and wonderful students such as
  2499. yourselves
2500. those who have supported you
  2501. administratively and logistically
2502. to really create a wonderful program
  2503. focusing on the
2504. and how we can be empowered by the quran
2505. the first thing is to engage the quran
2506. empowerment to use the term uh
2507. through the quran is not a philosophical
  2508. exercise
2509. we can read philosophically about
2510. everything the quran can do for us but
  2511. if we do not
2512. engage the quran if we don't recite
2513. is there a problem with the video
2514. because the the connection stopped
  2515. alhamdulillah inshallah um
2516. we will try to go back while you know
2517. fix the video inshallah maybe we will
2518. end that with that video
2519. do you have another nasheed for us
  2520. um
  2521. [Music]
  2522. [Music]
  2523. foreign
  2524. foreign
  2525. la

  2534. [Music]
  2535. [Music]
2536. very desired you know teacher in
2537. indonesia who lives in jakarta
2538. right now so alhamdulillah i mean
  2539. inshallah
2540. up to the end of the month insha allah
  2541. masha'allah again
2542. uh we're a bit over time we're going to
2543. have a second try with that video and
2544. that will be the last segment
2545. i will end up with a quick short dua and
2546. inshallah you can go on with your
2547. evening inshaallah sister sadia do you
2548. think we can run it again
  2549. bismillah
2550. and i'm greeting all of the wonderful
2551. brothers and sisters complete uh
2552. participating rather at any level
2553. in the mca youth uh kian
2554. the mca youth kiam has brought together
  2555. teachers
2556. such as bakery and others
2557. and wonderful students such as
  2558. yourselves
2559. those who have supported you
  2560. administratively and logistically
2561. to really create a wonderful program
2562. focusing on the quran how we can be
  2563. empowered
2564. by the quran the first thing is to
  2565. engage the quran empowerment
2566. to use the term uh through the quran
2567. is not a philosophical exercise
2568. we can read philosophically about
2569. everything the quran can do for us
2570. but if we do not engage the qur'an if we
  2571. don't recite the quran
2572. if we don't endeavor to memorize
2573. something of the quran if not the quran
  2574. and it
2575. in its entirety if we are not
  2576. passionately
2577. connected to trying to understand the
  2578. quranic message be that
2579. through learning and the arabic language
2580. or through reading the various
  2581. interpretations and commentaries that
  2582. exist in our case
2583. uh in english so it's very important to
  2584. engage the quran
2585. omar relates from the prophet salallahu
  2586. [Music]
2587. allah elevates by means of this
  2588. scripture
2589. some people and he debases others
2590. those who are elevated by them by it
2591. they are those who recite it
2592. there are those who study it they're
  2593. those
2594. those who endeavor to implement it
2595. and so this is very important uh
2596. for us the unique quranic generation
2597. that's referred to by said kotov and
  2598. others
2599. is is a generation that
2600. took ten verses of the quran and didn't
  2601. go forward until they
2602. understood and implemented everything in
2603. those ten verses and then they proceeded
2604. and so that's how we are empowered
2605. empowered by the quran is understanding
  2606. that
2607. it connects us to the divine the the
2608. the source of all power la
2609. there's no strength or power except with
  2610. allah
2611. except with allah and so as we read the
2612. quran we have to understand we're
  2613. communicating directly
2614. with our creator with the creator of
2615. all that exists with the lord of the
  2616. world worlds
2617. that the when we read the quran this is
2618. the eternal speech of allah
2619. that's being conveyed to us and we have
  2620. to understand that because
2621. understanding that helps us to plug into
2622. a power greater than ourselves
2623. when we say empowered let's say your
2624. battery is dead it's lost
2625. out all power how do we empower
2626. that battery how do we recharge that
  2627. battery
2628. we empower that battery if you will by
2629. connecting it to a source of power
  2630. greater than itself
2631. this is how we empower that battery and
2632. this is how we empower ourselves by
2633. plugging into a power greater than
  2634. ourselves
2635. and in this case it's not plugging the
  2636. battery and
2637. connecting with jumper cables to a
2638. stronger battery that's being powered by
  2639. a car alternator
2640. from from a good car a good battery good
  2641. alternator to that
2642. weak battery we don't do it like that
2643. we do it by connecting our hearts to
  2644. allah subhanahu wa tala
2645. and we connect our hearts to allah
2646. subhanahu wa ta'ala through the quran
2647. which is a form of vikar so it's through
  2648. zikr
2649. that we connect our hearts to a power
  2650. greater than ourselves
2651. does not the remembrance of allah bring
  2652. contentment and tranquility
2653. to the heart and so the quran
2654. this is the most rewarded letter
  2655. and if
  2656. [Music]
2657. is an individual letter lam is an
  2658. individual letter
2659. meme is an individual letter and each
2660. letter will be rewarded 10 times over
2661. and that 10 times is multiplied another
  2662. 70
2663. times in ramadan 700 times for every
  2664. letter
2665. this is the most highly rewarded dicker
  2666. but there are others
2667. in their situation so when we get in the
  2668. car
2669. uh we don't read quran we say
  2670. subhanallah
2671. and that in that instance is the most
  2672. highly rewarded
2673. vicar in the way of the prophet
  2674. sallallahu salaam
2675. implementing his advice but generally
  2676. speaking it's the quran
2677. our all-rod and if everyone should have
2678. a weird that they do in the morning and
2679. evening because that vicar connects us
  2680. to allah
2681. and you choose it can be anything from
  2682. the weird allah
2683. from the hadrami tradition in scholars
2684. it could be the matarat of al-imam
  2685. hassan al-banna
2686. it could be any number of things but can
2687. have a weird of vicar because the vicar
2688. helps to connect your heart to allah
  2689. subhanahu wa'ta'ala
2690. and connecting your heart to allah
  2691. subhanahu wa tala
2692. opens it up to be receptive to that
  2693. power greater than itself
2694. so this is critically important in terms
  2695. of
2696. empowering ourselves through the quran
2697. third and finally by humbling ourselves
2698. by humbling ourselves because when we
  2699. humble ourselves
2700. we understand that we are the servant
2701. and allah is our lord
2702. these days we have what is called the
  2703. new anthropomorphism
2704. the old anthropomorphism we projected
  2705. human-like qualities unto allah
  2706. subhanahu wata'ala
2707. so when you say falca a d
2708. him we say oh one of these things that's
  2709. anthropomorphism it is haram
2710. it is forbidden it can be shirk
2711. but these days we have what one of the
2712. noted christian theologians referred to
2713. as the new anthropo anthropomorphism so
  2714. if the old one
2715. the traditional one human beings
  2716. projected
2717. human-like qualities unto god so god is
  2718. this
2719. man with a big beard sitting on the
  2720. throne in the clouds
2721. that's pure anthropomorphism the new
  2722. anthropomorph
  2723. promorphism we project
2724. godly divine qualities unto humans
  2725. and so we determine
2726. oh that couldn't be haram that couldn't
  2727. be forbidden
  2728. because it's insensitive
2729. and god could never be insensitive and
  2730. so we determine
  2731. what's lawful or what's unlawful what's
  2732. fit or what's proper
2733. what's uh moral or immoral
2734. and to avoid falling into that trap of
  2735. modernity or post-modernity
2736. more accurately we need to humble
  2737. ourselves why what happens
2738. we're talking about empowerment our
  2739. prophet mentions
2740. so people are giving us sadaka it's
  2741. ramadan and there's a
2742. charity will never decrease your your
  2743. wealth
2744. this is the sound this narration is
2745. and so these are the knights who were
  2746. seeking allah's pardon
2747. when uh the prophet sallallahu sallam
  2748. advised i shared
2749. what she should say in the these nights
2750. you are the one who pardons you love to
  2751. pardon pardon us
  2752. and then finally
2753. no one humbles themselves for the sake
  2754. of allah
2755. except that allah elevates them
2756. except that allah elevates them so it's
2757. very important for us brothers and
  2758. sisters
  2759. to understand
2760. our religion to understand its
  2761. implications
  2762. to understand how we
2763. empower ourselves it's not through
  2764. material means
2765. we don't empower ourselves by going to
2766. the gym we our muscles get bigger we're
  2767. more powerful
2768. no we empower ourselves by spiritual
  2769. means
2770. and the greatest of those means is the
  2771. quran and the quran
2772. is a means for us to connect to allah
  2773. subhanahu wa'ta'ala
2774. the gold is allah subhanahu wa and
  2775. nothing
2776. other better than the quran makes that
  2777. clear to us
  2778. [Music]
2779. then leave them launching into their
  2780. empty sport playing amusement
2781. this is imam zai shakir and allah bless
  2782. all of you
2783. to all of those who participated who
  2784. taught
2785. who helped to make the mca youth
  2786. happen
  2787. at
  2788. uh profound advice um
2789. that all of us need to hear may allah
  2790. guide
2791. the youth uh to the best of all
2792. deeds inshallah the point that he's
  2793. making like okay
2794. yeah we tell god what
2795. how god has to say and not to say and
2796. then now we become we attribute godly
2797. attributes to ourselves now we get to
  2798. decide what halal and
2799. we get to decide what's right from wrong
  2800. what's truth from falsehood
2801. oh my god so inshallah we don't go that
2802. route may allah help our youth with that
2803. um um i would like to you know
2804. make dua inshallah at the end as i have
  2805. promised
2806. my heart has been very heavy the whole
2807. day the last 24 hours
2808. and i truly feel way much better after
  2809. participating in this pyaam
2810. because of what has been happening in
  2811. philistine in jerusalem
  2812. it's a it's a historical historical
  2813. moment of
2814. you know epic proportions what's
  2815. happening we're witnessing
2816. another cycle of history subhanallah so
2817. i make dua that allah will
2818. save al masjid al-aqsa from demolition
2819. i make dua to allah azzawajal that allah
2820. will save the palestinians who have been
2821. living there for thousands of years
2822. in east jerusalem and uh what's known as
  2823. sheikh jarrah neighborhood
2824. that they will stay at their homes
2825. because they have no other home
2826. and they don't know where else to go but
  2827. they're being like
2828. you know taken one after another one
2829. family after another just get attacked
2830. and kicked out of their house very
  2831. simply you know done
2832. uh and people were praying seventy
  2833. thousand people were praying
2834. salate tarawih and they were just like
  2835. stormed
2836. and you know it turned into an ugly
  2837. scene so
2838. subhanallah may allah give these people
  2839. saber and support
2840. and insha allah may allah preserve
2841. al-masih al-aqsa and the people who live
2842. around it and protect it with their
2843. lives when they have nothing you know
2844. they just like literally have nothing
  2845. but their bodies
2846. what uh what a carriage they have
2847. what uh what a print what a principle
2848. that they live with what an identity
  2849. they have
  2850. really unbelievable subhanallah
2851. we're talking about beyond david versus
  2852. goliath you know
2853. you know subhanallah so my dua for al
2854. masjid al-aqsa in such a beautiful night
2855. um i have it happened to that i went to
2856. a miz laksa twice in the last three four
  2857. years and
2858. it was beautiful in ramadan like
  2859. unbelievable and very
2860. and and the palestinians who live in
2861. that area wait for ramadan
2862. the whole year because that's when you
2863. know islamic tourism comes and they get
  2864. to
2865. make money for the rest of the year
2866. because it's becoming less and less and
  2867. less
2868. for them so that's what it's uh you know
2869. on so many level economical
  2870. social political religious stressful
2871. emotional financial it's on so many
  2872. levels
2873. may allah preserve them support them
2874. and and and preserve themselves
2875. the second thing that i want to read
  2876. here from
2877. uh you know youtube uh brother um faisal
2878. akbar says please make dua for me
2879. that allah makes memorizing the quran
2880. easy for me may allah
2881. memorizing the quran very easy for you
2882. and may allah make retaining what you
  2883. memorized
2884. very easy for you and may allah give you
  2885. the
2886. energy and the intention and the
  2887. positivity to
2888. go on until you do all of it masha allah

2898. successful prosperous life that you
  2899. spend it
2900. serving allah in this dunya and making
  2901. great things

  2905. comments

2911. even up to this moment late moment which
  2912. is really humbling alhamdulillah
