  1. As-salāmu ʿalaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh
  2. Last episode, we talked about Allah's grace and blessings upon all of us, before we even came to life
  3. Allah said in the Quran:
  4. (Indeed, We created humans in the best form)
  5. We have created the human in the most perfect, most complete shape and image
  6. Glory be to Allah, we didn't even mention last episode
  7. that when Allah created Adam and He taught Adam the name of all the things, that knowledge. He asked the angels,
  8. and when the angels did not know that knowledge, Allah commanded the angels to prostrate and bow down to Adam out of respect
  9. That's when Satan erupted
  10. How come this newcomer to the scene, to earth, comes and takes all the glory, all the love, all the attention? Why not me?
  11. How come?
  12. So Satan, may Allah curse him, did not bow down to Adam
  13. And when Allah SWT asked him why, he said "I am better than him,
  14. You created me from fire, You created him from clay,
  15. I am better"
  16. And even in that point, Satan was wrong
  17. Because it's funny to know that you can put off fire in two ways,
  18. either you pour water on it or you pour dirt on it,
  19. and in both cases, the fire will be extinguished
  20. So even in that point, Satan was wrong and he was ignorant
  21. And the pride, the negative pride and the arrogance took over
  22. And he disobeyed Allah SWT and caused himself to be casted away from Allah's mercy
  23. This is a lesson for us from the get go
  24. Who's our enemy and why did Satan end up the way he is?
  25. Jealousy, false pride, arrogance, boastfulness, huge ego
  26. Then you end up falling down onto your nose and end up getting nowhere
  27. And you will be wrong and you will be ignorant too
  28. Glory be to Allah, with Adam PBUH, Allah mentioned two reasons in the Quran
  29. One, He told the angels to bow down after teaching Adam the names of all the things
  30. The other reason is after Allah blew in Adam of his spirit,
  31. his essence
  32. (When your Lord said to the angels, “I am going to create a human being from clay.
  33. So when I have fashioned him and had a spirit of My Own ˹creation˺ breathed into him, fall down in prostration to him.”)
  34. And your Lord told the angels that I'm going to create a human from clay,
  35. a mixture of dirt and water,
  36. once I create him and complete his creation
  37. then I blow in him of My essence
  38. then fall into prostration
  39. Two reasons made you great and made Allah command the angels
  40. to bow down and prostrate to you out of respect and admiration
  41. One, your soul
  42. And it's through your soul that you establish a relationship with Allah SWT
  43. And two, the proper knowledge about who you are? Who your Lord is?
  44. What's your mission in this world?
  45. What's your job?
  46. What's your role?
  47. What's your purpose?
  48. What's your goal?
  49. And when you fulfill that
  50. Then you become honorable and high in the eyes of God Almighty, Allah Glory be to Him, the Exalted
  51. to a point that He will make the angels serve you
  52. And we know from the Hadith that the angels serve us day and night
  53. That's fascinating
  54. What an honor that when we say "Glory be to Allah" the angels record that
  55. What an honor that when we go and help someone on the street
  56. who needs a hot meal or a car ride,
  57. that the angels report that to our Lord Allah SWT
  58. This is fascinating
  59. And that shows you your place
  60. It's fascinating to know that when you're born in this world
  61. You're born pure, innocent, and sinless
  62. You're not born with an original sin
  63. You're not being judged for a mistake that your father did
  64. Especially that Allah said that when Adam ate from the tree,
  65. he asked for forgiveness and God forgave him,
  66. and God bestowed His mercy upon him,
  67. and God brought him on earth with grace and forgiveness and love
  68. to do the mission that He originally created him for
  69. It's very beautiful to know that we came from heaven
  70. And we want to go back to heaven
  71. And it's like, once you discover that,
  72. you realize like I want to go back home
  73. I want to go back with my creator
  74. I want to go back with my Lord
  75. I want to go back to where I came from, Glory be to Allah
  76. My dear brothers and sisters
  77. When we come to this world
  78. The grace and the blessings of Allah do not stop
  79. You come to this world
  80. And all of a sudden Allah dedicates to you two servants
  81. Two servants that are ready to die for you
  82. That are ready to give everything in their power
  83. Those are our parents
  84. Our mom and dad
  85. And that's why Allah in the Quran, so many times,
  86. Four times in the Quran, after Allah said
  87. You shall worship your Lord as one with no partners
  88. And with love and devotion
  89. Then number two
  90. And you should be honorable and good to your parents
  91. Why?
  92. Because without your parents
  93. You wouldn't have survived beyond three days
  94. Especially the first two years of your life
  95. This is very important to see
  96. That this is a continuation of Allah's blessings
  97. Another blessing upon us
  98. Before Allah ever asked us to do anything,
  99. Before He asked us to worship Him,
  100. He gave us like almost nine, ten, eleven, twelve years
  101. of childhood before puberty
  102. in which you're not asked to do anything as an obligation
  103. You can learn from your parents
  104. You know you can start to explore
  105. You know with prayers and with fasting
  106. But not as an obligation
  107. Look at that break, that childhood
  108. that Allah gave you
  109. and He did not ask you
  110. and He gave you parents to take care of you
  111. And now you're growing and growing and growing
  112. And Allah's blessings did not stop
  113. You grew up into this adult
  114. That you have a complete body
  115. That functions without your involvement
  116. Imagine if you have to keep on telling your heart
  117. Beat, beat, beat
  118. You will not be living
  119. You'll spend the rest of your life
  120. Just telling your heart to beat
  121. Or if you have to tell your lungs
  122. Inhale, exhale
  123. Or to tell your kidneys
  124. Filter, filter, filter
  125. Or to tell your liver
  126. Release the enzymes, release them
  127. You're not going to live
  128. You have a body that functions completely, perfectly,
  129. with health
  130. So that you can be busy with other things
  131. Allah did not give you the job of making your own body
  132. run the way it's supposed to run
  133. So that your mind can be free
  134. for what He wanted you to think about
  135. The relationship between you and Him
  136. This is very important to remember
  137. That even before Allah asked us to do anything
  138. He Has given us everything
  139. And what He asked of us is very little, very small
  140. And what He asked of us
  141. Actually turns to our own benefit
  142. And to our own growth
  143. And to our own peace and happiness in this world
  144. It's very important to start this Ramadan
  145. With being positive
  146. With seeing all the blessings in your life
  147. Not focusing on the one or two things
  148. negative that are going in your life
  149. Which each and every one of us
  150. all the time has something wrong going on
  151. Let's focus on the positive, on the 99%
  152. And let's use these blessings
  153. To reflect as now adults
  154. And to say "Oh Allah, thank you
  155. for what You have given me,
  156. so much, before You ever asked me to say anything
  157. or to do anything!"
  158. May Allah Glory be to Him
  159. Grant us gratitude in this Ramadan
  160. And may Allah make us from the grateful ones
  161. For truly few people reflect on the points that I've mentioned
  162. And feel a deep sense of gratitude
  163. And a deep connection with their Lord Allah Glory be to Him
  164. May Allah connect us with Him
  165. Ameen Ya Rabb Alameen
  166. Wa Assalaamu 'Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh
