2 moments mention “Trust in Allah”:

  1. Assalaamu 'Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh
  2. and welcome back to Tawasaw Ramadan series, author
  3. "As-Sirat al-Mustaqim"
  4. Yesterday, we covered: (And urge each other to the truth)
  5. Omar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased of him, said something very beautiful.
  6. He said: "May Allah reward someone who gifted us our mistakes
  7. and our wrongdoings"
  8. He considered when someone comes and advice him that
  9. he actually gave him a gift.
  10. If we can think like that, then we will be stronger and stronger
  11. because every time someone corrects you, you'll become better
  12. and a better believer Insha'Allah Ta'ala
  13. Today, Allah repeats the same word:
  14. (And urge each other to perseverance)
  15. Meaning,
  16. it could have been perfectly okay in Arabic
  17. if Allah said: (And urge each other to the truth and perseverance)
  18. but Allah said: (And urge each other to the truth, and urge each other to perseverance)
  19. because the word "Tawasaw/Urge" is needed in this context
  20. that you give advice to your believing brothers and sisters
  21. with sincerity and care and support,
  22. and you accept advice from them when they advise you.
  23. Alhamdulillah Rabb Alameen
  24. (And urge each other to perseverance)
  25. when we hear the word "Sabr" patience, I grew up knowing
  26. that patience is when something bad happens, and you sit down
  27. and you wait for it to go away and for things to get better.
  28. But little did I know that actually the word patience in Arabic
  29. it means: To hold on to something or hold off something.
  30. So, for example, to hold on
  31. to what Allah the Mighty and Majestic has told you to do, Allah asked us
  32. to have certain pillars of faith and certain pillars of action.
  33. This is called: Patience with the obedience of Allah
  34. To be consists and persistent
  35. with the obedience of Allah. The word patience
  36. in its basic meaning, it means to be consistent, persistent,
  37. hold on to something and be committed to it.
  38. Patience, (And urge each other to perseverance)
  39. The first patience that we need, is to be consistent
  40. and persistent with our practice of our religion.
  41. What Allah told us to do. That's called: Patience with the obedience of Allah
  42. The second type of patience is when Allah SWT told us
  43. to hold off certain things.
  44. These things are called: Haram.
  45. It starts from the highest, Shirk, may Allah SWT
  46. keep us away from Shirk from Kufr.
  47. And then the major sins, the minor sins. Disbelief,
  48. associating partners with Allah, major sins, minor sins.
  49. Allah told us to stay away from that.
  50. Everyday you need to stay away from alcohol, from drugs,
  51. from Zena , whether the Zena of the eyes or of the ears
  52. or the actual, God forbid, fornication or adultery.
  53. Everyday you don't do haram, you have accomplished something big.
  54. People come to me and they say:
  55. We feel stagnant in our faith, like we feel like our faith is dying.
  56. I ask them: Are you praying five times a day? "Yes"
  57. Are you staying away from Haram every day? "Yes"
  58. Then Mashaa'Allah, every day you do that, you are winning.
  59. Don't let Satan make you doubt yourself.
  60. The third type of patience is when something bad happens.
  61. Tragic, "Mosiba"
  62. Allah calls it, a calamity,
  63. tragedy, that you hold on to your faith
  64. and you stay with Allah SWT and with your Iman, with your faith,
  65. just like our brothers and sisters again Gaza
  66. May Allah reward them, may Allah have mercy on those who passed away,
  67. accept them as martyrs, heal the sick, heal the wounded,
  68. and make their reality better every day.
  69. And may Allah give them better than what he has given us.
  70. Ameen Ya Rabb Alameen
  71. Look at them,
  72. when they were going through the tragedy and they still going through it,
  73. they say: "God suffices me, and He is the best disposer of affairs"
  74. "Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed, to Him we return"
  75. "There is no might nor power except with Allah"
  76. and they have lost everything
  77. This type of patience is that you trust Allah's judgment.
  78. You trust that Allah is not forsaking
  79. you, that Allah did not forget about you, that Allah cares about you,
  80. and that the fact that you're going through a test
  81. or trial or tribulation, does not mean you are getting punished,
  82. but rather you're getting purified and elevated.
  83. My dear brothers and sisters, the fourth type of patience
  84. is the highest type of patience, which is patience with Allah SWT
  85. is that when you grow in your faith so much, that you're no more
  86. look at what's happening.
  87. Maybe you're getting sick every day.
  88. Maybe you've tried ten businesses and you failed at them again and again.
  89. Maybe you got into so many relationships and they didn't work.
  90. You just don't look at the details anymore.
  91. You just living with Allah.
  92. What did Allah SWT say in Surah Al-Muddaththir?
  93. (And persevere for ˹the sake of˺ your Lord)
  94. In Surah Al-Qalam:
  95. (So be patient with your Lord’s decree)
  96. be consistent and patient with their destiny of your Lord
  97. In Surah Al-Muddaththir
  98. Allah the Mighty and Majestic tells us to be patient with Allah SWT. Meaning what?
  99. Meaning I am with Allah, I accept what Allah designs for me.
  100. Meaning if I still have Allah,
  101. I don't care if I lose everything else
  102. because Allah can give me back everything else.
  103. And this patience, my dear brothers, sisters, in this understanding.
  104. Now, you understand when Allah says:
  105. (And seek help through patience and prayer)
  106. (Surely Allah is with those who persevere)
  107. Seek the help of patience and prayers
  108. and people say: How are we going to seek the help of patience?
  109. I thought patience is just, you know, waiting.
  110. No, no, no.
  111. Patience means consistency and persistency, perseverance.
  112. And you keep on doing and holding to your faith.
  113. And that will change things.
  114. Nothing will stay the same.
  115. Everyone's reality will change.
  116. And the biggest change that will happen to all of us at
  117. the end, is to move on from this stage of life to the next one.
  118. Insha'Allah, Allah makes our hereafter better than our life.
  119. May Allah accept our Ramadan and our fasting
  120. May Allah accept from us all
  121. Wa Assalaamu 'Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah
