  5. those of you who have been coming to
  6. family night for a number of years know
  7. that it's typically on a Friday night
  8. but when we had an opportunity to pair
  9. with tawasu.org we thought that what a
  10. great opportunity let's make sure and we
  11. change our schedule so as to be able to
  12. accommodate this program so we're really
  13. pleased to have a very unique family
  14. event today and I'm actually going to
  15. pass it on to a representative of
  16. thorasso brother Malik al-bakri who is
  17. going to take you through the agenda for
  18. the day talk a little bit about the
  19. content of today's event and I
  20. um I'm sure you'll find it to be very
  21. inspiring and fulfilling so with that
  22. brother Malik please come to the stage
  23. so
  24. um
  25. I want to welcome you guys all to the
  26. third annual uh Speech competition slash
  27. poetry competition
  28. um it's been
  29. it's been three years of us running this
  30. program and subhanallah like
  31. I I don't know how many of you guys were
  32. with us from the beginning but to also
  33. started out like this uh you know the
  34. the talk show and subhanallah this
  35. brings me back to the old days
  36. subhanallah 2018
  37. Insha'Allah the name of the event as you
  38. guys can see is
  39. um
  40. rasulullah his character inspires me
  41. so without further Ado I'd like to bring
  42. up to the stage uh brother Adib he's one
  43. of our tawaso mentors and also Hafiz in
  44. the community beautiful voice inshaallah

  69. inshallah I'll be doing the translation
  70. surely following the Heavenly record we
  71. decreed in the scriptures my righteous
  72. servants shall inherit the land
  73. surely this Quran is sufficient as a
  74. reminder for for those devoted to
  75. worship
  76. we have sent you o Prophet only as a
  77. mercy for the whole world
  78. say what has been revealed to me is this
  79. your God is only one God will you then
  80. submit
  81. if they turn away then say I have warned
  82. you all equally I do not know if what
  83. you are threatened with is near or far
  84. Allah surely knows what you say openly
  85. and whatever you hide
  86. I do not know if this delay is possibly
  87. a test for you or an enjoyment for a
  88. while
  89. in the end the prophet said my lord
  90. judge between us in truth and our Lord
  91. is the most compassionate whose help is
  92. sought against what you claim
  93. foreign
  94. be great
  95. [Music]
  96. okay so uh before we start the event I
  97. want to talk to you guys a little bit
  98. about salasso
  99. um for those of you that this is your
  100. first event and for those of you who
  101. haven't been fully introduced to the
  102. concept so to also uh like I said was
  103. founded in 2018
  104. and the goal is in the name itself uh I
  105. don't know if you guys heard what Allah
  106. and then also with Allah
  107. so by going through these three themes
  108. learning the truth the way rasulullah
  109. let your brothers and sisters help you
  110. become consistent in your faith and be
  111. there for others and let others be there
  112. for you um and show me to others and let
  113. them show Mercy to you this is something
  114. that we've been trying to embody since
  115. 2018 and it's been such a long journey
  116. and I'm so happy to have you guys here
  117. with us
  118. foreign
  119. okay
  120. our mission is to inspire Muslims and
  121. adults from all ages through Iman
  122. um
  123. a service to become upright people and
  124. leaders who passionately serve their
  125. community and the um large people who
  126. are
  127. want to be there be true Muslims
  128. submitters to Allah
  129. through the organization and through
  130. other means inshallah
  131. our vision for the future of torasso is
  132. to have chapters all over the nation and
  133. all over the world so that Muslims can
  134. be connected with their communities and
  135. with the goal of learning from each
  136. other and to support one another as
  137. Muslims I think it's super important
  138. um I feel like if someone new comes to
  139. the community like a convert
  140. um
  141. they come they introduce they get
  142. introduced to Islam and they're left
  143. alone
  144. um everyone has their small clicks
  145. they're small things in their community
  146. and we need something that connects
  147. people together on a larger scale make
  148. it a whole Uma project not just for this
  149. Masjid or that Masjid something to
  150. connect us together as Muslims
  151. all right
  152. foreign
  153. t uh limited you know there's definitely
  154. more but the five main goals I would say
  155. first is impactful learning and we have
  156. programs such as speech competitions
  157. um and other like today and also public
  158. speaking classes uh we put on so many
  159. different events to help the kids learn
  160. um inspiring mentorship I think it's
  161. when you look at the Sunnah of
  162. rasulullah there is always
  163. he would always assign that sahaba to
  164. someone above them a mentor for them
  165. um so that they can learn Islam through
  166. someone they look up to so uh with also
  167. we have the the elementary school
  168. because the most cool thing for
  169. elementary school is to have a middle
  170. school friend so we make the Middle
  171. School their friends and we help them
  172. Mentor the elementary school and then
  173. the high school and went to middle
  174. school and so on and so forth
  175. um
  176. the third is strengthening identity and
  177. obviously this comes with learning and
  178. with action
  179. and doing things with your brothers and
  180. sisters in Islam theater also
  181. encouraging community service we have
  182. multiple events around different
  183. communities we're not the only ones
  184. doing things we're not the only ones
  185. running the programs so we want to
  186. connect people with their local programs
  187. as well because we're never going to be
  188. able to do everything and so we want
  189. people to also give service to the
  190. community that raise them
  191. the last is promoting leadership I think
  192. it's super important I think many people
  193. think I'm not a leader
  194. um I can't do what this other person
  195. does comparing to them I think every
  196. single person is a leader in their own
  197. aspect
  198. um and that's what we promote as though
  199. into law so you lead what you're good at
  200. you do what you're good at
  201. um and inshallah it's a community that
  202. helps everyone grow
  203. so I want to show you guys this is the
  204. the first speech competition that we
  205. ever had this was in 2020
  206. um in honor of rasulullah
  207. [Music]
  208. and then the next
  209. um
  210. this is the next one sorry I can't read
  211. and then
  212. why why I love rasulullah and uh it was
  213. 2022 and uh sorry
  214. 2021 and now we have
  215. um this spoken word 2023 and we're so
  216. excited to have you guys inshallah
  217. thank you
  218. something
  219. so I'd like to introduce to the stage
  220. one of my
  221. one of my old Middle School teachers he
  222. is like the coolest guy in all of the
  223. community all the younger kids know him
  224. all the older people know him he's that
  225. connect that meshes you know everyone
  226. together in masha'allah Vice principle
  227. of Granada Islamic school founder and
  228. head instructor at Indonesia academics
  229. and has a local tutoring service please
  230. help me introduce to the stage Asif
  231. so
  232. next introduction I mean you guys all
  233. know him he's your your local guy uh you
  234. know I'm so I hit it
  235. um
  236. all right give me one second
  237. the slides aren't working but this may
  238. not please help me welcome to the stage
  239. he's one of my enons someone I go to
  240. um for advice
  241. okay
  242. [Applause]
  243. and lastly
  244. lastly is
  245. the the founder of torasso he is you
  246. know one of my greatest role models and
  247. like you know a great long life for the
  248. community masha'allah and please help me
  249. introduce him to the stage so I could
  250. love it
  251. and without further Ado
  252. we start in the name of Allah
  253. the college spoken word competition and
  254. the topic as you guys all know him
  255. I and the world
  256. the first competitor
  257. um that we would like to introduce
  258. isbia youth president and speech and
  259. debate second place state championship
  260. please help me introduce her to the
  261. stage
  262. okay
  263. thank you
  264. [Music]
  265. Allah
  266. if you're here today I would cry Wallah
  267. if you could see how we treat each other
  268. in this ummah the way they disregard the
  269. Great
  270. ulama
  271. I see our people
  272. begging for Iman
  273. yet why does no one stand in a year
  274. if you were here
  275. how would you tell your people to pray
  276. but you get down on your knees and beg
  277. Allah to forgive them and their ways
  278. I see my people getting trashed every
  279. day song for wearing makeup and some for
  280. not praying five times a day
  281. if you were here how would you explain
  282. to them
  283. that each person is responsible for
  284. their own and unjudgment day that is how
  285. they will be seen alone not for the
  286. actions and the decisions of their
  287. friends that they spent most of their
  288. life pretending to amend but for who
  289. they are and how they repay their debt
  290. how do I fix my ummah's vision
  291. do I lead by example
  292. or do I stand and stay quiet
  293. do I let my family and friends drown in
  294. their bigots
  295. maybe I am too young
  296. and the Elders of my community would
  297. shame me for my fast tongue Allah
  298. how were you able to show them Islam
  299. that their ears would listen
  300. but their hearts would melt and drown
  301. when I raise my hands and make dual
  302. give me countless reasons to say that I
  303. love my ummah thank you
  304. [Applause]
  305. Allah that was amazing one more round of
  306. applause please yeah
  307. so um if I can have uh
  308. give us some judging commentary
  309. one thing that popped out to me is just
  310. the emotion and the intonation that you
  311. use while you were up there on stage
  312. um the slight pauses raising the voice
  313. lowering the voice
  314. um that in and of itself is a very
  315. moving feature of the spoken word so I
  316. really love that about it
  317. um I was also looking for a little bit
  318. of more metaphoric language I I think
  319. that would have been a a great place to
  320. really capture the essence of rasulullah
  321. a lot of times it's hard to be
  322. explicitly direct when describing their
  323. profit so sometimes we have to use
  324. comparisons to do that but overall that
  325. was an amazing moving performance
  326. mashallah
  327. all right
  328. extremely extremely powerful
  329. as haseeb mentioned uh just the
  330. intonation the sound the voice the way
  331. it was going up and down extremely
  332. extremely powerful
  333. uh brings you uh close to the prophet
  334. sallallahu alaihi wasallam in a language
  335. that most of us are able to understand
  336. a lot of us were raised reading poetry
  337. in other languages
  338. and to be able to hear some of that in
  339. English I think masha'allah extremely
  340. extremely powerful
  341. thank you
  342. [Music]
  343. um
  344. I'll start with the criticism first
  345. why did you stop
  346. that's my criticism I was getting worked
  347. out I was getting into the speech I was
  348. getting you know you were building the
  349. momentum and then you end I really would
  350. have loved to hear more
  351. um
  352. my you know my I love how you brought
  353. your family like you into the thing you
  354. did not only talk about the ummah but
  355. you actually talked about your family
  356. your mom your dad uh what to say how to
  357. do it I like how you spoke to the
  358. Prophet sallallahu this is called munaja
  359. and we do monajah with Allah we can also
  360. do munaja through poetry which munaja
  361. meaning letting your heart out to Allah
  362. or letting your heart out to the prophet
  363. sallallahu alaihi wasallam in the form
  364. of poetry so this was uh brought
  365. something that is old that our poets
  366. used to use in the past and we're not
  367. using anymore but mashallah great job
  368. thank you
  369. [Applause]
  370. foreign
  371. the second condenser Contender is liba
  372. Hussain a student at zetuna College an
  373. active volunteer in the Bay Area
  374. Community please help me welcome to the
  375. stage
  376. okay
  377. always
  378. the world we live in today affects us in
  379. so many ways
  380. fast-paced days ideologies that sway
  381. people who slowly Decay life passing by
  382. in a haze Stress and Anxiety Prevail and
  383. take over but we stay strong by
  384. following the order
  385. the way of Islam worshiping Allah and
  386. following our blessed Prophet Muhammad
  387. sallallahu alaihi wasallam my beloved
  388. Prophet the most perfect man
  389. my beloved Prophets The Walking Quran my
  390. beloved Prophet the best of all Humanity
  391. if you were here with me I would feel
  392. only peace and Tranquility if you were
  393. here with me I wouldn't need anybody if
  394. you were here the world would be free
  395. free of troubles really worries fruit
  396. problems
  397. wouldn't it
  398. yet you also face difficulties trials
  399. tribulations and unwelcoming Society a
  400. world of impropriety in fact you face
  401. the most difficulty of all
  402. so maybe all of our problems today
  403. wouldn't just magically go away if I had
  404. a chance to fix the world's problems
  405. with you what would I do
  406. for me the answer is clear from the life
  407. you led when you were here
  408. rather than seeing faults in everything
  409. around me I would learn how to start
  410. with me myself
  411. as you were able to overcome the hardest
  412. of challenges I too aspire to learn to
  413. do the same with the obstacles I face in
  414. life
  415. that is what I would want to learn from
  416. you my beloved prophets
  417. was so strong how you were kind to those
  418. who Did You Wrong how your character was
  419. the best how you prayed through your
  420. tests how your nuts was converted how
  421. your family was supported how you had
  422. unending patience how you cared the most
  423. for your almost guidance if I had the
  424. chance to solve The World's problems
  425. with you Allah I would start with fixing
  426. myself
  427. then no problem would be too big because
  428. I have the knowledge to deal with it and
  429. then with the knowledge that I gain I
  430. could face the world's problems and try
  431. to ease others pain but to tell you the
  432. full truth if I was with you my beloved
  433. prophet I would be in so much awe I
  434. don't think I would be able to speak I
  435. would sit in your shining presence and
  436. weep because
  437. I love you rasool Allah
  438. [Applause]
  439. uh poetry is really just sound
  440. comparisons and imagery and one of the
  441. beautiful things I liked about light
  442. Buzz
  443. um spoken word was the rhyme as simple
  444. as as it is or something very attractive
  445. about rhyme when we introduce poetry to
  446. young children it usually starts off
  447. with Rhymes and just the way she was
  448. able to connect meaning with the Rhymes
  449. that shows a talent that we see here
  450. today and I I really appreciate that
  451. about lipa's poem
  452. of course very well done
  453. the fact that she made it very personal
  454. and the fact that she Masha Allah
  455. there was a self-reflection in her piece
  456. that was really really powerful that it
  457. wasn't just about speaking about the
  458. grandness of the nabia as he was so
  459. rightfully deserves but it was also
  460. speaking to oneself as to ensuring that
  461. there's things as someone who truly
  462. believes and loves the messenger
  463. that I have a responsibility as well and
  464. I appreciate that responsibility piece
  465. that she spoke so well about masha'allah
  466. foreign
  467. again
  468. I
  469. feel like
  470. was a perfect length and you took us in
  471. a journey from talking about yourself
  472. um as Imam Tahir said and that we need
  473. to fix ourselves uh with the knowledge
  474. that we have before we try to fix the
  475. world
  476. and then I also
  477. um
  478. uh you you took us a journey about
  479. talking about the prophet sallallahu
  480. sallam then talking about the ummah so
  481. you hit and and the point of this whole
  482. competition this whole spoken word was I
  483. you know him I and the world how would
  484. you fix the world's problems with the
  485. prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam so I
  486. felt that you addressed that I wish you
  487. even addressed it more uh with more uh
  488. talking about specific problems and
  489. specific maybe uh solutions that you
  490. would propose
  491. you know the elements the
  492. your your voice vibrations going up and
  493. down and uh making it personal and
  494. really giving it all of yourself it was
  495. beautiful thank you so much
  496. the third Contender today is Miriam
  497. Sirhan a Communications major uh to also
  498. Mentor who enjoys doing graphic design
  499. Circle
  500. to mend a broken world
  501. life slides by like a bird with wings
  502. weighed down by the unknown
  503. waiting for the destination no GBS to
  504. tell it where to go but as each day
  505. gives way to a dark and peaceful night
  506. and the bird is better silhouette brings
  507. arched mid-flight nothing remains but
  508. the Luminous Beacon and its Celestial
  509. companions shining bright and as this
  510. Moon glows cradled in the Velvet arms of
  511. the night sky I know that with every
  512. tear the world cries and every flower
  513. that Withers and dies there was a time
  514. when these very streets now shining with
  515. pearly marble with people checking their
  516. Reflections in the Gilded golden doors
  517. only the reign of respect and the Sands
  518. of sincerity used to brush these blessed
  519. beautiful floors there were people that
  520. never touched gold but had hearts of
  521. gold markets were bred and dates were
  522. bought and sold and as the sky weeps
  523. filling the rivers with memories of
  524. companions that lived and died for Islam
  525. of bustling streets with the music of
  526. Salam of a prophet who was a mercy to
  527. man I wonder
  528. what could I tell and I mean about this
  529. world a world that replaced the tune of
  530. nasiha with a deathly silence washing
  531. houses burn and people go astray without
  532. a breath of defiance letting the ones be
  533. claimed to love walk into dens filled
  534. with lions all under the premise of no
  535. hate and no judgment forgetting about
  536. the fast approaching day of judgment I
  537. wonder
  538. what could I tell al-sadiq about this
  539. world where truth is a rare occurrence
  540. drowning in an ocean of excuses and an
  541. intricate woven Web of Lies where
  542. promises are made and broken like pieces
  543. of an old puzzle we said we'd finish but
  544. never even tried and millions of people
  545. just drifting with the tide depression
  546. and despair just along for the ride I
  547. wonder what could I tell al-habib about
  548. this world well the wheels that spurry
  549. from ear to ear eager to strike and
  550. match and light a fire burn Bridges and
  551. bonds in seconds are constantly turning
  552. never Tire what could I tell you
  553. how we all wish we could go back today's
  554. prior your light is missed every day and
  555. all how we aspire
  556. for your companionship yet even in your
  557. absence I see your presence in the
  558. spoken world the string you left behind
  559. to mend this tapestry unfold I see your
  560. patience in every eye that sheds a tear
  561. at night not knowing if tomorrow will
  562. finally bring an end to its plight in
  563. every heart that goes against itself and
  564. does what is right
  565. I hear your wisdom and your repeated
  566. reminders carried by the breeze putting
  567. my mind into perspective and my heart at
  568. ease I hear your love laced in the
  569. laughs that echo in the cave of
  570. camaraderie in the gentle pitter-patter
  571. of hearts that beat for Allah's sake and
  572. strive to meet on a day where only
  573. thakura can compete I see your
  574. persistence in the oppressed that don't
  575. miss a beat stand with their heads held
  576. high when told to take a seat in the
  577. Wounded Warriors that still greet the
  578. ones who wounded them with a smile
  579. refusing to accept defeat I hear your
  580. truth and conversations carried out on
  581. quiet evenings reflecting on the rules
  582. of the world and pondering on people's
  583. reasonings I see your Hope on the days
  584. where a single word makes the gray
  585. clouds fade in the transformation of
  586. opinions I thought would never be swayed
  587. I see your resilience in the beads of
  588. sweat that streak down a tired face and
  589. the runners that keep running even after
  590. losing a race I see your ummah hurting
  591. yearning growing learning striving and
  592. with Allah's guidance and your legacy
  593. ever improving always surviving thank
  594. you
  595. one thing that I that stuck out right
  596. away to me is the high level of language
  597. vocabulary
  598. a lot of metaphoric language a lot of
  599. modifiers there's double entendras in
  600. there I'm sure you guys caught some of
  601. those so high level of language
  602. mashallah
  603. yeah I think that that really stood out
  604. I think uh the deep meaning you had to
  605. be a present
  606. uh to understand what was going on you
  607. had to pay attention
  608. and uh that just goes to show the talent
  609. of the speaker masha'allah and we ask
  610. Allah to continue blood continuously uh
  611. bless her insha Allah but also another
  612. thing that stood out for me was speaking
  613. to the realities and I think all the
  614. speakers have done that in some way
  615. shape or form but this was speaking to
  616. those
  617. um to those realities of what's going on
  618. and addressing those in a beautiful way
  619. yet also despite some of the uh
  620. blameworthy traits that human beings are
  621. going through that were mentioned
  622. um ended on a positive note and so I
  623. think that that's really powerful
  624. alhamdulillah may Allah bless you
  625. inshallah
  626. [Applause]
  627. um mashallah I've noticed uh
  628. that you were reading uh not only from
  629. your memory
  630. uh you were not reading uh from your
  631. from a page or from a phone so that you
  632. committed all of that to memory but I
  633. felt that you were reading it from your
  634. heart not from your memory not from your
  635. mind
  636. um so that was something that stood up
  637. to me I also
  638. um alhamdulillah
  639. uh foreign
  640. the metaphors that you used and the uh
  641. connection to the reality that we live
  642. in and proposing Solutions I think all
  643. of that was uh very powerful and
  644. masha'allah
  645. was uh was very moving I would like to
  646. say
  647. so look we're going to give a few
  648. minutes for the judges to uh you know
  649. talk behind the scenes Insha'Allah so if
  650. we can get Nasheed in the background
  651. Insha'Allah and we'll get to it
  652. [Music]
  653. foreign
  654. [Music]
  655. foreign
  656. foreign
  657. [Music]
  658. [Music]
  659. listen to me
  660. [Music]
  661. come on
  662. come on
  663. thank you
  664. [Music]
  665. foreign
  666. [Applause]
  667. [Music]
  668. foreign
  669. this was a very very hard judgment just
  670. so that everyone knows here
  671. we switched our opinions back and forth
  672. two three times
  673. um so we kept on going back and forth
  674. and back and forth and going back to the
  675. rubric because we're actually judging
  676. based on a rubric
  677. and um
  678. so that that's what we were discussing
  679. uh just so that you know the rubric that
  680. we have
  681. first point
  682. vocal intonation and expression
  683. land number two language used
  684. number three volume
  685. loudness and up and down and number four
  686. audience address
  687. so these are the four things the rubric
  688. we all three judges have the same rubric
  689. and uh we got it from
  690. uh basically the website any website so
  691. um so I would read for you like the
  692. highest marks so we have one two and
  693. three so and four so number four is the
  694. highest Mark so basically highly
  695. effective expressive intonation
  696. used to reinforce change in mood voice
  697. setting and or characterizations that's
  698. the the highest level uh and that's
  699. under vocal intonation and expression
  700. under language used highly effective
  701. used highly effective use of strong
  702. vocabulary
  703. as it relates to the storyline some
  704. words were taken from the vocabulary
  705. Journal right so this is basically just
  706. the volume highly appropriate audience
  707. volume used when speaking and Performing
  708. so that's where you you go up and down
  709. and you engage and you feel like you're
  710. drawn into the speech and number four
  711. um appropriate audience
  712. address
  713. um audience basically
  714. appropriate audience address with a high
  715. likelihood to engage and entertain
  716. so that's what we're looking at and we
  717. had to go back and forth and back and
  718. forth masha'allah three uh powerful
  719. speakers
  720. and uh if I may say with very
  721. um
  722. uh
  723. hard line uh I would like to announce
  724. the third place first
  725. so alhamdulillah the third place was
  726. Allah
  727. okay
  728. um and uh again we loved your speech and
  729. we all really really really wanted more
  730. so that's like really what got you in
  731. the third place you were powerful but we
  732. really wanted next time
  733. make it longer okay inshallah we loved
  734. it alhamdulillah
  735. so can we have some drumming or
  736. something
  737. I'm the last second place
  738. in first place Maryam sarhan
  739. so I would like us our mashallah board
  740. member sister Sadia azim to bring the
  741. gifts inshallah and inshallah we'll hand
  742. it over
  743. so the contenders the first prize was
  744. 500 the second prize was 300 and the
  745. third prize was two hundred dollars just
  746. so that you know and alhamdulillah uh
  747. today sbia sponsored this event because
  748. after Madrid we're gonna announce the
  749. elementary middle and high school and if
  750. you think these three speakers are
  751. powerful think again once you hear these
  752. younger kids they're gonna put them to
  753. the side basically they're they're like
  754. not effective basically masha'allah so I
  755. would like to call Imam Tahir to give
  756. this to first person this sister Maryam
  757. sarhan please come Allah
  758. [Music]
  759. I'd like to call on the second basis
  760. thank you so much
  761. alhamdulillah
  762. masha'allah imanta her teaches
  763. and third place sister
  764. thank you so much
  765. may Allah bless you thank you
  766. masha'allah I'll get it back to
  767. Malik I yeah
  768. so look before we take a break from I'd
  769. like to
  770. if you could please give us a small
  771. speech about you know the character of
  772. rasulullah
  773. you know Allah thank you so much
  774. welcome once again everyone may Allah
  775. bless our presence in sha Allah and
  776. allow for these moments to be in our
  777. book of Good Deeds
  778. uh Malik mentioned and asked me to speak
  779. about what was the words that you used
  780. the character of
  781. rasulullahi wasallam
  782. when I think of the character of the
  783. Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam
  784. there's just one word and one word that
  785. comes to my mind and that is easy
  786. as we all know he was a messenger for
  787. all of humanity the prophet sallallahu
  788. alaihi wasallam was a Mercy to Mankind
  789. the prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam
  790. was
  791. he was the last and final of all of the
  792. prophets the prophet sallallahu alaihi
  793. wasallam was USANA he was the final and
  794. complete example perfect example for all
  795. of humanity and so by Design Allah
  796. sent the prophet sallallahu alaihi
  797. wasallam not only to convey the Quran
  798. but also his character his speech the
  799. way he walked the way he talked the way
  800. he dealt with others and this was for
  801. everyone all human beings until the day
  802. of judgment now that is billions of
  803. individuals from the time of the Prophet
  804. salaam all the way till the very end and
  805. if that happened to be God's goal for
  806. human Humanity then it had to be
  807. something that was
  808. easy
  809. for everyone men women young old for
  810. everyone to be able to emulate that when
  811. I think of a characteristic of the
  812. Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam
  813. something as easy as smiling to someone
  814. something as easy as speaking truth to
  815. someone something as easy as not lying
  816. to someone something as easy as
  817. respecting my Elder something as easy as
  818. being kind to those who are younger than
  819. me these are all good qualities now I
  820. understand at times they can be
  821. difficult because of certain
  822. circumstances but in reality all of
  823. these things happen to be easy
  824. right these happen to be easy and when
  825. we do them
  826. we are elevated if you in any Gathering
  827. Muslim or otherwise if you are in a
  828. parking lot at Costco or Safeway and
  829. there's an elder individual and you help
  830. one that you help them with their cart
  831. or you help put things away for them
  832. just today I was contemplating I think
  833. last night
  834. I just wish we had a neighbor I've
  835. shared this story many times their young
  836. child a teenager would mow our lawn for
  837. us my brother and I were still very very
  838. young but it's something that I haven't
  839. forgotten we've completely lost touch I
  840. have no idea where they're at and I wish
  841. I could find them but again that's not
  842. the point the point is any Act of
  843. goodness all that which we find in the
  844. Sunnah and the characteristic of the
  845. Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam makes
  846. us better people not just as Muslims but
  847. as human beings and ultimately all of
  848. that happens to be
  849. easy may Allah bless us Allah
  850. please one more round of applause
  851. and then um
  852. instead I see you I see mashallah your
  853. daughters on your lap but if I can uh
  854. have you come up which I'd like give a
  855. few words or I can bring the mic to you
  856. yeah
  857. uh I've never heard of that description
  858. before uh and I I really love it that's
  859. gonna stick with me the easy part of it
  860. uh when it comes to the prophet
  861. sallallahu alaihi wasallam I think
  862. um as a parent
  863. we all want our children to embody his
  864. character when I think of the prophet
  865. salallahu
  866. the thing that comes to mind is how can
  867. I
  868. share his life with other people share
  869. his examples with other people so that
  870. our world becomes a better place
  871. I currently work at Granada Islamic
  872. school and one of the I feel like one of
  873. my callings is to work with Muslim youth
  874. it's something that I get a lot of
  875. fulfillment and satisfaction from
  876. and when we expose them to his character
  877. through our own actions and then just
  878. direct teaching what he used to do you
  879. can see there's a switch that goes on in
  880. their mind
  881. and it's a very powerful switch
  882. and a lot of times you don't see it till
  883. years later
  884. and they'll even recall a story that you
  885. told them about the prophet or about a
  886. companion
  887. and whatever the case may be it sits in
  888. their mind
  889. and they can't forget it and truly
  890. rasulullah is Unforgettable
  891. and I guess my biggest takeaway from his
  892. character me learning about it I know
  893. the powerful effect it had on me of
  894. course we're gonna have shortcomings
  895. we're never going to reach his status
  896. but it's something that we can strive
  897. towards and it's something that we want
  898. to pass on to our children right so
  899. whenever we hear Prophet Muhammad what
  900. do we say Asia
  901. and what do we say
  902. there you go
  903. and I'll end it with that
  904. second look okay I want everyone to stay
  905. and show Allah come after Melody the
  906. best part is optim the the the meat and
  907. potatoes Insha'Allah
  908. um so we want to see everyone back
  909. inshallah but before we go can I take a
  910. selfie with all those speakers
  911. just you know just for the Instagram
  912. Michelle

  1008. for the speech competition
  1009. one by one inshallah

1025. okay Elementary winners second place

1042. I would like to talk about how the
  1043. prophet
1044. Muhammad's actions have influenced me
  1045. and my life
1046. all of us know our beloved Prophet
  1047. Muhammad
1048. and the great things he has done like
1049. spreading The Message of Islam to
  1050. thousands of people
1051. choosing the religion over anything
1052. overall he's a good role model in every
  1053. aspect of life
  1054. as a son a friend a father a husband a
  1055. relative a queer a teacher and as a
  1056. ruler
1057. he's one of the most influential people
1058. who's ever lived on Earth and has
1059. impacted the lives of many children and
  1060. adults
1061. for me he has helped me to become more
1062. of a kind and compassionate kind of
  1063. person through his actions
1064. I recently read the book Muhammad his
1065. character and conduct by Adam Sarai
1066. in this book there are a lot of hadiths
1067. and events from the prophet's life as
1068. well as verses from the Quran which some
1069. are about loose kindness and compassion
  1070. one verse is
1071. oh Prophet we have not sent you but as a
  1072. mercy to the worlds
1073. this Ayah shows how when Allah
1074. sent the prophet to Earth it wasn't to
1075. hurt people by making so many rules and
1076. restrictions but to show them mercy and
1077. the prophet is Mercy to the whole world
1078. that means it anyone and everyone
1079. in Syrah we can find an incident where
1080. the sahabas approached the prophet
1081. requesting him to make Dua against their
1082. persecutors they were going through a
1083. lot of hardships just because they
  1084. followed the prophets and
1085. practiced the deed of Islam
1086. but the prophet refused to make Dua
1087. against them instead he said
1088. I'm not here to curse anyone
1089. I'm here as a mercy to all
1090. this required really surprised me it's
1091. easy to be nice to people who are nice
1092. to us but we should practice to be kind
1093. even to those who are not so nice to us
1094. there's a Hadith recorded in El bukhari
1095. and Muslim from a man named Malik who
1096. was a member of a group who went to the
1097. prophet and stayed with him for 20 days
  1098. to learn about Islam
1099. the prophet sent that the group was
1100. their family so we asked them about whom
1101. they left behind and let them go back
1102. home if they wish he was both caring
  1103. and compassionate
1104. this is very important Hadith shows how
1105. when the prophet sallallahu alaihi
1106. wasallam had people staying with him he
1107. would look after them and care for them
1108. as well as tend to learn if he sense any
1109. discomfort or nervousness without them
  1110. even telling you
1111. this inspired me to always ask how
1112. people are and to ask if they're okay
1113. and if I sense anything to help them
1114. sure there are times when I remember the
1115. confidence words like one time I saw a
1116. kid who was looking very sad so I went
1117. up to him and asked him if he was okay
1118. if there's any way I could cheer him up
1119. after listening to him I felt so happy
1120. knowing that I made another person smile
1121. I know there's a lot of other people who
1122. have been impacted by The Prophet's
  1123. words
  1124. deeply what about you
1125. may Allah help all of us to study the
1126. life of the Prophet so we can all become
  1127. better
1128. I mean thank you for listening
  1129. good
  1130. mashallah the next
  1131. inshallah no kidding
1132. Abel where where are your parents from
  1133. uh they're from India
1134. and how old are you I'm 10 10 years old
1135. and in which grade fifth grade fifth
  1136. grade mashallah
1137. um how long did it take you to like put
1138. this speech together in terms of writing
1139. and research and all of that I think
1140. like a month or two a month or two
1141. months how many takes did you have to
1142. record to record it right at the end
  1143. maybe like 10 20 10 20 wow masha'allah
1144. you can tell because I know these things
1145. you know you might have not thought
1146. about it but for him to take that
1147. perfect take I thought that he recorded
1148. at least 10 times again and again Masha
1149. Allah uh Imam haseeb Imam do you have
1150. any question or comment on the speech
1151. that you heard please I just want to say
1152. I like how you went with the theme you
1153. gave a story of how
1154. it his character actually inspired you
1155. and what happened so I really
1156. appreciated that part uh of your speech
1157. what made you decide to pick that
1158. specific moment do you have other
  1159. moments in mind
1160. um that's one of the moments that like
1161. really reflected to me about the prophet
1162. and like what he did as a messenger
1163. I thought that was a really nice
1164. Personal Touch on your speech I really
1165. appreciated that thank you yes
  1166. absolutely
  1167. um
1168. I think you did a fine job in Allah
1169. um as shikhana said and he asked you the
1170. critical question how many takes you had
1171. so I think uh you know I see that smile
1172. on your face if there was something else
1173. you could speak about what would that be
1174. maybe how the prophets Companions and
  1175. people like Abu Bakr
1176. who how what they what their role was
1177. and like how they helped the prophets
1178. masha'allah give our star of the night
1179. mashallah big hand of applies thank you
1180. brother congratulations on winning the
1181. first place masha'allah and inshallah
1182. you participate again and again and
  1183. again
  1184. um then
1185. so then next we'll announce the Middle
  1186. School winners
  1187. third place is
1188. she here with us today
  1189. okay
  1190. second place
  1191. foreign
1192. and now first place for
1193. the first place for Middle School
  1194. winners
  1195. wow
  1196. are you here Mariam
1197. perhaps masha'allah your second place
  1198. right
1199. please if you can help us hand over this
1200. is the third this is your second place
  1201. right
  1202. Allah please
1203. and the first place is here
  1204. Mom oh masha'allah well-raised
1205. so this is the first place right this is
1206. first and the name on the first place
1207. thank you so much mashallah
1208. congratulations and inshallah we will
  1209. yeah in trouble
1210. we can play the first place
  1211. of Middle School yes
  1212. about how Prophet
  1213. Muhammad's character inspiration
  1214. foreign
1215. 's character inspires me so I chose one
  1216. characteristic humbleness
1217. what do you mean by Humble Mists
1218. being humble is when we do not think
1219. highly of ourselves instead we are
  1220. modest respectful and submissive
  1221. what is an event
1222. it was narrated the album was had said a
1223. man came to the prophet saws
1224. and his voice trembled out of us he
1225. spoke to him the prophet saw Allah said
1226. to him be calm for I am not a king
1227. verily I am only the son of a woman who
  1228. ate dried me
1229. and I sit as a servant since rarely I am
1230. only a servant most of these hadiths
1231. show that even though he was a messenger
1232. of a war and the leader of Allah Prophet
1233. Muhammad was humble and how he portrayed
1234. himself how does this character of his
1235. impact do well it may be more America
1236. Act for example when someone compliments
1237. me I don't press myself but but instead
1238. I think Allah for the blessings he
1239. bestowed upon me when someone advises me
1240. I accepted by Central to implement it
1241. instead of thinking I'm too good for it
1242. a treat I also treat everyone the same
1243. way despite their status after Allah
1244. is the greatest human being to ever
  1245. lived
1246. yeah he never thought I love himself his
  1247. narrated
1248. he said Allah's messenger so I said do
1249. not extort me as a Christians that stole
1250. Jesus the son of Mary I merely a servant
1251. so say he is a lost servant in his
  1252. muscle
1253. in this beautiful characteristic that
  1254. the prophet saws
1255. implement it into our lives see you next
1256. time and chat Allah with the new moral
1257. imbecile but I wanted from
  1258. them
1259. yeah you can see that there is a lot of
1260. production that was put in there how
1261. long did it take her
1262. three or four weeks yeah it looks like a
1263. lot of work Masha Allah we would have
1264. loved to have her here tonight but I
1265. believe she was in a
1266. another engagement may Allah bless your
1267. daughter for you and alhamdulillah
1268. so inshallah we move on
1269. so Allah and now the high school winners
1270. third group third place Amon Bose
  1271. [Applause]
1272. second place is uh Jannah husseini
  1273. masha'allah
1274. and for first place can I get a drum
  1275. roll drum roll
  1276. wow
  1277. oh my God
1278. alhamdulillah please have a seat here
1279. you can have give her a mic
1280. before you speak we would like to watch
1281. your speech first please you can go
1282. test Allah gives me I immediately
1283. realize I need to work on my stubborn
1284. and initially when I thought of Summer I
1285. thought of patience I would think how
1286. can I become a more patient person and
1287. what better way to fix your character
1288. than by the guidance of Islam in the
  1289. Prophet Muhammad
1290. however the reading Hadith and analyzing
1291. the experiences of our Prophet I
1292. realized that summer is not just about
1293. patience but also about perseverance and
1294. sticking to your Islamic morals and
1295. goals someone is remembering that Allah
1296. is the best of planners and only gives
1297. you what you can handle
1298. subhanallah there are numerous stories
1299. highlighting the immense summer of
  1300. prophet Muhammad
1301. but one story specifically resonated
1302. with me upon hearing it
1303. one day when the prophet sallallahu
1304. alaihi wasallam was praying near the
1305. Gaba Abu jahil and his friends saw him
1306. and made a plan to disrespect him by
1307. dumping camel intestines on top of him
1308. while he was in sujud
1309. when they committed this horrible act
1310. the prophet didn't react he simply
1311. stayed in sajut he stayed in prostration
1312. until a man called out for Fatima had to
  1313. help him
1314. the prophet had every right to get mad
1315. seeing how these men ridiculed him and
1316. his religion everything he stood for but
1317. he stayed calm he put his trust in Allah
1318. and knew Allah subhanallah would deal
  1319. with them
1320. subhanallah between the disrespect the
1321. murder attempts and the battles of the
1322. Prophet sallallahu fought and he stayed
1323. faithful in Allah and trusted Allah's
1324. plans he continued to preach Islam No
  1325. matter what he faced
1326. once you hear about all the tests Allah
1327. put the prophet salallahu you cannot
1328. help but think what issues in my life
1329. are even slightly comparable to those
1330. that the prophet faced how can I become
1331. so angry and lose all my Hope from an
1332. issue so insignificant compared to what
1333. the prophet went through for Islam to
  1334. prosper
1335. and through these stories of the Prophet
1336. sallallahu alaihi wasallam I recognize
1337. that someone boils down to having faith
1338. in the love of Allah that he has for his
1339. servants having confidence that he knows
1340. what is best for us and that he gives us
1341. the tests we can handle and learn from
1342. may Allah be pleased with him reported
1343. the messenger of Allah said if Allah
1344. Wills good for someone he afflicts them
1345. with trials I go through hardships and
1346. stress because Allah loves me and
1347. learning about the history of Islam and
  1348. the prophet
1349. Muhammad's life reinstates my trust in
1350. Allah and my love for Islam
1351. truly there is so much to learn from the
1352. wisdom of the prophet sallallahu
  1353. please
1354. so I'm now you what grade are you in
  1355. high school now I
1356. think Masha Allah so Junior and um
1357. how long did it take you to come up with
1358. that I think um it took me like an hour
  1359. but an hour
1360. and did it just like click with you
1361. um I had thought about what I wanted to
1362. talk about and what story I wanted to
1363. use however when I put everything
1364. together it took me only an hour
  1365. mashallah
1366. yeah brother hasid if you have any two
1367. two things that stood out to me
1368. one you made it personal again you know
1369. I mean um Abel earlier I said the same
1370. thing I love that you made it about you
1371. like you really followed the theme which
1372. is how how the prophet inspires you
  1373. specifically
1374. I love that and then one other thing
1375. your tone your tone was so encouraging
1376. and self-reflective that it made me
  1377. self-reflective you know so I really
1378. love how you use your tone as like a
1379. tool in your speech and that's one of
1380. the things that made you really stand
1381. out so great job with that
1382. too thank you so much
  1383. I what I found really powerful and I
1384. mentioned this to brother haseeb as we
1385. were as you were speaking in the video
  1386. is
1387. um your ability to re make that
  1388. reflection
  1389. a very adult-like reflection
1390. um that you know this is that you know
1391. this is the character of the prophet
1392. sallallahu alaihi wasallam and what he
1393. went through and you know what we happen
1394. to be going through and I think it's
1395. extremely extremely powerful uh in the
1396. time that we happen to be living in and
1397. um the fact that you put it together in
  1398. under an hour
  1399. um that's awesome
  1400. yeah
1401. that would take me a lot more than that
  1402. um
1403. you go to uh public school which school
1404. you go to I go to Lynbrook limb Brook
  1405. Masha Allah and um
  1406. do you see
1407. how are you able to like carry yourself
1408. as a Muslim there with your friends and
1409. how's how's is like if you were to speak
1410. to another girl Muslim girl that goes to
  1411. public school
1412. and goes through that struggle I want to
1413. fit in I want to like feel I belong this
1414. and that but yet you have to keep your
1415. Iman and your identity how how do you
1416. deal how do you negotiate that
1417. um it definitely is hard especially in a
1418. school setting when you see other people
1419. that aren't Muslim who don't have the
1420. same values as you and they seem you
1421. know happier than you however when you
1422. you really have to focus on yourself and
1423. stay true to what the Quran tells you to
1424. do because when you reflect on yourself
1425. and what Islam tells you and you know
1426. you think about like what will I have in
1427. the future in Jannah yeah and then you
1428. know you have to focus on yourself
1429. basically you know I have to do this all
1430. the time I have to come home and you
1431. know you pray and you make the line you
1432. say like okay how can I make myself
1433. better because I have control over
1434. myself only and I know essentially if I
1435. control myself and you know do things
1436. that I know will benefit me then I
1437. surely will be happier than those who I
1438. think are happier than me right now oh
  1439. wow
1440. thank you very much that was very
  1441. powerful
  1442. um
1443. and what I've learned in life actually
1444. is many times when I come across people
1445. and they seem very happy and jolly that
  1446. there's a lot of pain behind that I
1447. don't know about it so I have learned
1448. not to compare myself to others because
1449. I thought they were happier than me
1450. but and then they have no struggle in
1451. life but maybe I find out later on that
1452. they have like maybe 10 times more
1453. struggle than me and they're just
1454. putting a smile so I learned from that
1455. if you are going through struggle you
1456. can also put a smile right and you can
1457. move on so uh that's that's what I find
1458. so alhamdulillah may Allah bless you
  1459. inshallah you
1460. um always uh when inshallah this was a
1461. hard one uh for you there was a lot of
1462. high school submissions and uh it was
1463. hard for the judges in the back to
  1464. decide masha'allah
1465. um but alhamdulillah you earned it and
1466. congratulations thank you so much
  1467. foreign
1468. as I said in the beginning this whole
1469. event put on by tawaso is for the
1470. purpose of trying to bring forth the
1471. Future Leaders of this community to talk
  1472. about Islam
1473. um to get them in tune with their
1474. leadership and with their community
1475. so we thank all of you for giving them
1476. the chance to do that inshaallah I want
1477. to thank everyone who came today from
1478. the panel of speakers to the parat to
1479. the winners to the people who didn't win
1480. but still submitted still did their best
1481. and put their heart and soul into their
1482. work I want to thank all of you
1483. thank you very much I would like to
1484. personally thank brother haseeb hasi
1485. what do you think of the event today
1486. I love it and made me question like
1487. why I wasted my childhood not being like
1488. these kids but I love the event it's
1489. inspirational it brings the community
1490. together beautiful and they love me I
1491. love this you brother like the first
1492. speech I gave in my life about Islam I
1493. was 23 years old and I almost had a
  1494. heart attack
1495. literally I could remember seeing my
1496. heart pumping here because I was put on
  1497. the spot
1498. I was the only English speaking in the
1499. middle of uh you know a crowd and they
1500. were uh converts to Islam this is in
1501. Saudi Arabia in Jeddah and someone heard
1502. me speak in English conversation like Hi
1503. how are you he thought I can give a
1504. lecture about Islam and English just
1505. because I know how to because it's a big
1506. deal lucky this guy knows English so he
1507. put me in front of the crowd and asked
1508. me to speak and I almost like fainted
1509. because I've never had spoken to a large
1510. crowd more than five people so suddenly
1511. I had a 50 people and that was very
1512. large for me so that was the first time
1513. I ever spoke in my life like as a happy
1514. record or like a speech and that was at
1515. age 23 so for you to do it at this age I
  1516. mean hands down I wouldn't had I didn't
1517. have that when I was grow up subhanallah
1518. Imam what do you think of today
  1519. mashallah
  1520. I think for
  1521. families
  1522. and young children
  1523. to have this opportunity
1524. to have an entire organization
  1525. non-profit
  1526. run
1527. very Hands-On by one of our great
1528. teachers and mentors and leaders in this
  1529. community
1530. uh goes to show the
1531. sincerity and love that our beloved
  1532. teacher and Sheikh has
1533. for the young in our community
1534. but for the parents also that we have
1535. this opportunity in this community to be
1536. eight for the young to be able to
  1537. benefit directly
1538. from one of our greatest teachers I
  1539. think that's a very very powerful
  1540. sentiment
  1541. um
1542. is my friend colleague older brother but
  1543. most importantly a teacher
  1544. and
1545. um people of his caliber
1546. I'm sorry for putting you on the
1547. spotlight no problem people of his
1548. caliber are you know traveling on the
1549. weekends and you know they're you know
1550. and one of the greatest complaints we
  1551. hear
1552. uh is that many uh should you are
1553. serving their entire serving the entire
  1554. country but their communities
1555. uh and when we have who's not just
1556. serving our community but he is serving
  1557. Hands-On with our youth and I think it's
1558. a really really powerful sentiment it
1559. just goes to his to show his love and
1560. his sincerity and we ask Allah to accept
1561. it from him but also to all the parents
1562. specifically the parents that we have
1563. this opportunity to benefit and so let
1564. us let's spread the word really you know
1565. my my kids are a little older now so I
1566. don't have this anymore my kids are but
1567. in any case I I almost you know you talk
1568. about having this when you were young I
1569. you know and so do I but I just wish
1570. something like this was around maybe
1571. just even 10 or 12 years ago where my
1572. where my own kids would have been able
1573. to benefit from this and so I think it's
1574. very very powerful and so uh
1575. alhamdulillah very proud of all the this
1576. is my second speech competition I've
1577. attended today I have a young lady right
1578. here uh who was at both of them she won
  1579. there and here
1580. Masha Allah so it goes to show how
1581. amazing she is masha'allah but at the
  1582. same time
1583. these opportunities and it's these
1584. moments that will make us who we are as
1585. we grow up into the future this this
1586. will be a big part of our identity this
1587. will be a big part of our personality
1588. this be a big part of our lives and who
1589. we all of these young people will end up
1590. becoming as they grow into adults
  1591. inshallah
  1592. um
1593. for all the kind words may Allah make me
1594. as you think of me inshallah and bitter
1595. the idea here is I want to say something
1596. Abdullah I am hands on with tawaso but
1597. believe it or not as far as what I did
  1598. today is I said we're gonna have a
  1599. speech competition
1600. and then the rest was executed by the
1601. youth I came half an hour before you you
1602. some of you saw me roaming around youth
1603. were here at one o'clock they were
1604. setting up doing the balloons doing the
1605. stage doing the program setting up the
  1606. show that you saw
1607. communicating reaching out to brother
1608. haseeb who's the our lead judge so
1609. tomorrow alhamdulillah we have an event
1610. Salah workshop for high schoolers we
  1611. opened 50 spots and
1612. um 50 spots were full actually the
1613. reason why we limited to 50 spots
1614. because the space that was available for
1615. us at MCA only could accommodate that
1616. number also that event is also was
1617. organized executed I just give their
1618. knowledge and then they do the rest so
  1619. it's alhamdulillah I'm so happy that I
1620. don't have to do the small things and
1621. the little things and this is a training
1622. ground for them we have programs for
1623. Elementary online and in person Middle
1624. School online and in person High School
1625. online in person but when I say online
1626. it's only one hour on zoom on Wednesday
1627. one hour a week on Zoom it takes no
1628. driving front no driving back so we have
1629. three to four courses every year each
1630. course is eight to ten weeks meaning
1631. eight to ten hours basically and then we
1632. have one hour a week for the parents I
1633. found out that I'm teaching the children
1634. but the parents don't know what I'm
1635. doing teaching their kids so I opened up
1636. the same thing that we teach the kids in
1637. these courses is the same I think I
1638. teach on a higher level sophisticated
1639. deep level for the parents my goal is
1640. the father the mother and their High
1641. School Middle School elementary school
1642. sit down on the dinner dinner table and
1643. have a discussion about what they all
1644. learned about the same topic at four or
1645. five different levels we have a home
1646. section for college students who
1647. regularly visiting and doing programs
1648. with standard Stanford MSA Santa Cruz
1649. MSA UC Davis MSA you know UC Santa Cruz
1650. UC Berkeley mashallah we're trying to
1651. serve the college students so four or
1652. five different levels Elementary Middle

1654. take these kids inshallah you will hear
1655. from us soon about a trip only for 18
  1656. years Plus
1657. and not anyone younger and not anyone
1658. older like basically just for college
  1659. age 18 to 25 inshallah we're going to
1660. spend two weeks in namra inshallah one
1661. week five days in matka learning the
  1662. entire
  1663. on site
1664. we we show them where the Prophet sallam
1665. was born where he lived where he grew up
1666. everything on site then five days in
1667. Medina and then two days in the way of
1668. Hijra it's getting developed right now
1669. inshallah we will announce it my hope is
1670. also to take the high schoolers but you
1671. have to sign their life away for me
1672. inshallah for me to go to umrah right
1673. because there is a liability form but my
1674. thing is it's gonna take more than one
1675. thing to make these kids
1676. holistically strong Muslims it's going
1677. to take online education it's going to
  1678. take on in-person activity it's gonna
1679. take that it's going to take a rehla to
1680. Turkey to Morocco we have done all of
1681. that 2019 we took 25 youth to Morocco
1682. these 25 youth they're not their life
1683. has never been the same after that they
1684. left four of them took me aside four
1685. Muslim kids took me aside after just
1686. four days in Morocco out of 12 days
1687. they took me aside and they said
  1688. we left Islam
1689. we are here because our parents forced
1690. us to come here but we right now we want
1691. to pronounce our shahada in front of you
1692. and I cried and I weeped and I sobbed
1693. because four born Muslim kids took their
1694. shahada with me in Morocco
1695. this is crazy like subhanallah you know
1696. and and they came back to the Deen why
1697. because of experiential learning it's
1698. gonna take so much effort to save our
  1699. kids
1700. may Allah bless like sister Amna sister
1701. Jannah they go to public school I'm
1702. telling you I'm a Sheikh if I go to
  1703. public high school I don't think I'm
  1704. going to say
1705. it's very hard it's very hard like
1706. really genuinely very hard I do not
1707. underestimate their struggle and now the
1708. struggle is passing down to middle
1709. school and in the last year it passed
1710. down to elementary school we're gonna
1711. have to do so much to save our children
1712. and if we can save just our local
1713. children alhamdulillah then they can
1714. save their neighbors and you know
1715. everyone else but we have a lot of
  1716. programs check our website
