- now welcome to another iteration of Anan
- Foundation webinar uh for the sake of
- benefiting the general Community
- inshallah the topic today ISO better
- together and our guest
- is as a brief introduction
- is an Islamic scholar and Community
- leader of Palestinian descent after
- studying Islamic and international law
- and history in Jordan he moved to the US
- in 1996 he co-founded Iman in Chicago
- mine in Fresno and the support life
- foundation in Oakland in 2018 he
- established the taso Institute to
- empower Muslim youth he is dedicated to
- uniting Muslims through education and
- Community Service uh before I hand over
- the figurative mic to she I do want to
- encourage anyone and everyone watching
- listening tuning in however that may be
- to visit thean Foundation website esan
- foundation.org check out the different
- projects see uh which specific project
- may pull on the heartstrings uh for you
- to donate and support any amount will go
- very far in that region of the world
- again isan foundation.org without
- further Ado I'll go ahead and hand over
- the invisible mic to our guest for today
- um we I thank Allah subhana
- tala for everything that we enjoy and
- um as every and each and every one of us
- almost feel
- guilty uh enjoying these blessings while
- our brothers and sisters and laza are
- not
- um I want to remember them in the
- beginning and at the end of my speech
- and say Ya Allah have your mercy upon
- them feed the hungry quench The Thirst
- of the
- Thirsty clothe those who are
- naked give shoes to those who are
- barefooted heal those who are sick and
- wounded and accept as Martyrs those who
- have
- died and Grant them Victory Ya Allah at
- the end of the very hard long
- struggle um
- alhamdulillah um want to thank uh my
- young brother Imam Bilal for the
- introduction and I want to thank uhan
- foundation for hosting me may Allah
- subhana
- tala uh continue to bless the
- team uh from the founders to the
- managers to the workers and in all the
- countries in Africa and
- worldwide uh may Allah put Baraka in the
- Work ofan Foundation as they
- truly help the helpless and give voice
- to the
- voiceless and um are there for the
- people who need it the most you
- know uh and they're doing a making a
- difference both on the not only in
- basically handing out food
- uh to the people in West Africa and now
- even in East Africa but rather also give
- them
- Education Health
- Care uh
- training uh you know job training so in
- other words instead of giving the uh
- fish they are teaching people fishing
- and giving them the fish pole so that's
- the uh alhamdulillah and I have someone
- as who work withan seen their work on
- the ground and created a partnership
- between support life Foundation andan
- Foundation uh we mashallah they're the
- best people on the ground to implement
- the projects that we partnered with them
- on in West Africa may Allah put Baraka
- and accept from us uh all of our small
- humble little good
- Deeds um so
- I you know this is just a general talk
- and I was asked to talk about the
- concept
- of and the concept of is mentioned in
- the Quran so many times in many
- different
- suras uh but the people hear the
- word uh the most on uh in in the context
- ofah because it's short Surah and many
- Muslims uh recite it memorize it and and
- love
- it uh this
- Sur
- IM and we know that when im says
- something big like this he must have
- contemplated on it Allah he said if
- Allah has not revealed of the Quran
- except it would have been enough that's
- a big statement definitely coming from
- big one of the major of this
- um um so then maybe we can explore a
- little bit and the meaning of within and
- within the rest of the Quran and that
- will be something that will benefit us
- insh um Subhan
- Allah in in
- Allah starts by uh using time were last
- by
- time uh and the word as also in Arabic
- means an era a certain era so for every
- one of us uh we experience the world
- through our
- era uh so yes the world has been there
- for thousands of years before us and
- even millions of years before Humanity
- showed up on this planet
- and probably planet Earth Will Survive
- few million years after you know our
- Extinction on this
- Earth um
- so but what difference does it make to
- you and I how many thousands of years
- there was before how many thousands of
- years they will be after all what we
- deal with is our era our time so it's uh
- it's it's beautiful that Allah like
- subhana T did not say
- by time he he spoke he used the
- word by the era which era your era my
- era every time someone reads Al it's
- talking to him about his era meaning
- your
- lifetime and all the events that
- happened around you and around your
- lifetime truly uh the human is
- in great loss in the state of loss and
- that's uh something interesting like why
- would Allah say that and
- linguistically there has been three
- tools of
- confirmation uh to to make to confirm
- the meaning that this statement is very
- very very
- true uh Allah
- said this is normal this is a statement
- but Allah said First Tool of
- confirmation the Lamb by itself
- is which means a tool of confirming the
- meaning is also so Allah could have
- said that's also proper Arabic
- or complete so number one tool is there
- is
- a before is by
- time first
- to so three
- words two confirm uh the meaning and and
- this
- meaning this is before it it mean an
- oath by time this is true this is a fact
- this is real this is uh the state of
- being in this Ayah Allah like takes us
- out of our like he invites us to leave
- our time and look at our whole lifetime
- time especially on this earth like from
- an up from an upper
- look um Subhan Allah I was sitting down
- with a brother this brother was um rated
- in 2008 I think as one of the best eight
- investors in the
- world uh his predictions were almost all
- right and he continued to be one of the
- best investors but he was rated by
- Forbes Magazine
- as one of the best uh eight investors in
- the world basically uh in
- 2008 um and he sat down with me and
- showed me how he sees from an investment
- point of view from a stock market point
- of view through diagram how he sees this
- Surah like how he analyzed it and he
- drew for me this basically this diagram
- and I don't know if you can see it or
- not but there is this is basically the
- horizontal is time and the vertical is
- the resource so if you look at here here
- is time this is the ver the horizontal
- and then there is here when you look
- there is health wealth knowledge these
- four are the four resources that we get
- usually in life right so now we are born
- here in this point time starts okay so
- then how did he see see that we come to
- life very weak if our mother did not
- feed us the first day we will die so we
- come here with very little strength very
- weak could possibly die in one day or
- two days if we don't eat then we get
- stronger and stronger and stronger and
- stronger until we reach the peak of our
- life the peak of your strength for every
- person it's different then but in
- general we get older and then this start
- going down and down and down and down
- until this point here could becomes the
- point of our death right so this is the
- end of our Lives that's here the point
- of our death and that's it so we come to
- this life if we draw from Health we will
- go Health goes up then Health goes down
- until we
- die so that's the first diagram we draw
- this is what he drew for me and I felt
- it was I wanted to share sh that with
- you and I wanted to also say this was
- not my knowledge I learned it from
- someone else may Allah reward him then
- we come to WTH see when you come to this
- world you come with nothing zero right
- so also when we were born we came out
- with zero right
- and we went up and became
- wealthy and by the time we go back to
- zero so this is the second line here but
- now it's wealth we go from zero then you
- become very very wealthy then you even
- if you stay wealthy here by the moment
- of death you lose all of your wealth
- like let's say you became wealthy and
- you didn't become poor like let's say
- this even became the same line here here
- here the second you die you drop to
- zero so this diagram could be up and
- down or could be up stays up but then it
- has to drop down to zero because when
- you die you can't take it with you when
- you go you cannot take anything with you
- so then there is a third diagram which
- is we come to
- life Allah brought you out of your
- mother worms knowing nothing so the
- third line let's say if this is zero
- when you're born knowledge you know
- nothing Allah says you come to this life
- knowing nothing then you get older if
- you actually live long which many people
- wish to live long they don't know when
- you get older you become sick and tired
- and sick and to a point where you don't
- want to live anymore like you don't know
- that when you are young you know that
- when you get older you don't know that
- when you're young you only know that
- when you get older and older and older
- and very sick and very tired and can't
- get up out of bed and sometimes you
- can't go to the bathroom by yourself and
- people have to help you et this is a
- problem right so then you come in with
- so much you know with the third one is
- knowledge you no no no no no no then as
- you get older you start forgetting
- forgetting forgetting
- forgetting by the moment of death like
- your knowledge is zero it's gone except
- if you wrote something for the sake of
- Allah a knowledge that will benefit
- people then uh it will uh remain that
- knowledge but you your knowledge Your
- Capacity is
- gone so by time the human is in a great
- loss we still did not explore this
- Subhan Allah the only thing that we come
- up with full full is time meaning when
- we were born it was determined how long
- we're going to
- live so let's
- say we like let's say the highest level
- is 80 years old here is 80 right on the
- top let's say when you were born you
- didn't know but Allah said you're going
- to live 80 years old you you don't know
- I don't know when we're going to die but
- let's say that is that so as life goes
- right then you're going towards your
- death it's actually going down down down
- down until you meet your death so you
- are in a state of loss so even
- though this is 100% loss every day that
- passes of your life you're losing it
- right and this is wealth you become you
- come with nothing you leave with nothing
- so you will lose it health you come very
- weak you leave very weak and you will
- lose
- it uh knowledge you come knowing nothing
- you know you leave knowing nothing and
- so health wealth and knowledge and then
- finally time you're constantly in a
- state of loss
- this is very beautiful way of explaining
- this Surah by an intelligent man may
- Allah reward him and uh bless
- him brother Jamal for teaching me that
- so the idea here is I I took this to
- heart and I started always like I draw
- this sometimes when I'm traveling to
- remind myself of where am I in life
- right because at the end you're going to
- lose it all so
- now now for
- and for someone who a non-believer who
- actually don't care and an evil person
- let's say they say for an for someone
- who spent his life like just fooling
- around and partying around and hurting
- other people not not only you know just
- fooling around but actually you know
- when you hit this point the very scary
- thing is that that's not the lowest
- point of your life yet because your life
- will extend after death your life will
- extend after death there's the life in
- that grave the life in that day of
- judgment and then life after the day of
- judgment so there's three more stages
- coming so for a CF in the grave it gets
- worse on the day of judgment it gets
- worse and in Hellfire they just drop and
- it gets worse and it's constantly a
- prophet sallallahu alaih wasallam said
- people will be dropped
- uh uh people will be will
- drop in Hell Fire they will be in the
- state of falling for 70
- years and they still cannot find the
- bottom of Janam imagine falling if you
- fall for 7 Seconds you feel it's seven
- hours if you fall for seven minutes you
- feel it's seven months if you fall for
- seven weeks you feel like your whole
- life how can you even possibly the the
- longest fall we feel
- is 1 second 2 seconds like from your bed
- down I don't know if you jump if you are
- on a plane usually Landing is the last
- half an hour of the
- flight but we we can't even experience
- anything more than half an hour Landing
- from a plane now imagine seven years not
- half an hour not seven hours not seven
- days not s seven years and you can't
- find
- the you and I may Allah never
- and you know and and this is not only
- the cfir the prophet sallallahu alaihi
- wasallam in the Hadith said a person and
- could be a Muslim that person that says
- a word of like says something that
- displeases
- Allah some people curse Allah
- himself some people curse his messenger
- sallallahu alaihi wasallam some people
- curse the Quran some people curse
- Islam some people curse the purest
- people around the prophet sallallahu
- alai wasallam the
- and like why would you want to curse the
- best of the best people on the planet or
- the prophets and Messengers or Allah or
- Islam or Quran like they have so much
- anger in them they will curse and they
- intentionally curse something very holy
- to show you that I don't care and I'm a
- big deal and I can curse the holiest of
- the Holy the prophet sallallah alaihi
- wasallam said a person could say a word
- heard of Allah's displeasure that will
- throw him in Hellfire for 70 years and
- he will not find a bottom for it so the
- issue here is after death it doesn't get
- better because there's life in the grave
- there will be torture life on the day of
- judgment there will be torture then
- dropping in hell right so Allah so we
- ask a question okay how can can we break
- this because every human will go through
- this Muslim cfir good person bad person
- you're going to have to go through this
- cycle in life this is for everyone uh uh
- Subhan Allah so the idea here is for a
- Believer for a
- Believer um okay how can we break this
- the question so literally after Allah
- said and now we see through a diagram
- that this will happen to everyone then
- says
- accept so now we can break this sad
- depressing cycle it's not even a cycle
- linear like going down and down and is
- there a way to break this yes there's a
- way four
- steps four
- things let's take the first two except
- those that in this life in this
- lifeu
- Iman is something
- that you gain through knowledge through
- learning through seeking knowledge
- that's why because wasallam is our uh
- role model Allah told him in the Quran
- know that there is no God but one God
- doesn't know of course he knows he's the
- one who guided us to that is just like
- keep seeking knowledge keep growing in
- your
- Iman build your IM on
- knowledge because Islam and Iman is not
- something that you
- inherit what you inherit from your
- parents whether your parents are Muslims
- or not Muslims is f the state of Purity
- the state of pure innate nature the pure
- innate
- nature uh pure innate nature this F in
- Islam we say every child is born pure
- innocent sinless and with with some
- goodness in them right so whether you
- are a Muslim meaning born to Muslim
- parents or you're born to non-muslim
- parents you're born with them that so
- with that Allah is fair and just with
- everyone Allah give us all the same
- chance and
- opportunity um now after you hit puberty
- what do you do after that now it's now
- it's based on you now it's your choices
- you're no more a child you're not
- excused anymore and as you know as
- Muslims we don't have this concept
- teenager teenagers is excused from being
- intellectual from being responsible for
- being rational in Islam we don't have
- that teenager is just a young adult
- that's it we train them we teach them
- but we treat them as an adults and there
- is nothing more beloved to a 13 years
- old whether a boy or girl nothing more
- beloved to them than treating them like
- adults they love it they're sick and
- tired of being treated like a children
- for 13 years they're done with that
- stage in their life they don't want to
- be talked to as children they want to be
- talked to as
- adults and that's what Islam gives them
- we will talk to you as an adult we will
- treat you like as an adult so shape up
- and act like an adult so now with this
- Choice like the idea that we Muslims
- especially born Muslims have is that I'm
- a Muslim why because my parents were
- Muslim that's not how you gain
- Iman and that Iman that you just
- inherited from your parents you think
- because your parents because some of us
- their parents they're Muslims and
- masallah they're good Muslims they're
- good Muslims but some of us are parents
- are Muslims and they're not good
- Muslims so you didn't even have a chance
- to learn to have a good example as you
- so whether your parents are great
- mashallah or whether your parents had
- struggle in their life in Islam it
- doesn't matter Allah asks us to respect
- our parents even if they're not
- Muslims Allah said if they're not
- Muslims and they're telling you leave
- Islam do not obey them but befriend them
- become their friend so there's no excuse
- for
- mistreating your parents you cannot say
- my parents were bad I'm going to
- mistreat them no not in
- Islam but now we're not talking about
- your parents and your relationship with
- your parents your relationship with your
- parents should be beautiful and good
- even if they're not good and beautiful
- to you you don't answer evil with evil
- you answer evil with good but we're
- talking about you how can you have Iman
- Iman means belief not not only like not
- only a belief a belief that is active I
- believe in English a belief that is
- active is called Faith like this person
- got faith meaning they got like active
- Iman like their faith makes them hopeful
- their faith makes them positive their
- faith makes them grateful their faith
- makes
- them patient and have endurance
- perseverance their faith is not a
- stagnant belief it's it's an active
- Faith active Iman and that's very very
- very important to have uh and that's
- what Allah refers to Iman is like active
- Faith it's not only a belief I believe
- in Allah sure do you live by that I
- believe in the messenger of God great do
- you live by that do you live do you try
- to model your life after the model after
- the lives of the prophets and Messengers
- and their beautiful wife wives and
- daughters and companions whether their
- Companions and disciples were men or
- women do you are you trying so that's un
- called belief this belief that turns
- into Faith active faith can only be
- gained through knowledge it's not
- something you inherit from your
- parents even what you inherit from your
- parents is if your parents when you were
- young spoke to you about Allah spoke to
- you about Islam that means they taught
- you knowledge that means that's why you
- have IM because you learned it from your
- parents but just because your parents
- are Muslims doesn't make you like have a
- complete perfect nice Iman no that's
- something you have to work on yourself
- by gaining knowledge
- so means you have to be an active
- learner so that you can have active
- belief which we call in English Faith
- active faith in Arabic the word Iman
- includ includes both belief and
- Faith then number
- two and they did Good Deeds they they do
- good deeds and this um uh
- expression and they did the Good
- Deeds it's showing that they are they
- turn their faith into action
- and that action is continuous not one
- time not two times not every day and
- every moment if possible when you
- remember so it's very
- important and they did they
- acted means they acted and acted here
- means acted continue to act will act
- it's a past continuous tense basically
- did and they are now and they will in
- the
- future and very interesting this word
- it's plural
- of means good something good but it also
- have a hint of something it means you
- will use it also this is and this is
- meaning this is good and this is not
- good this is actively good for you this
- is actively not good for you like it's
- actively good for you to drink a lot of
- water during the day or some water like
- to drink to be hydrated it's actively
- not good for you to drink alcohol so
- this
- is is active good and
- means something fresh also if you say uh
- uh this is not fresh vegetables you can
- use the
- word right also it
- means means some that that that that
- fixes you did an action that fixed a
- problem so is in Arabic is to fix an
- issue so you can we can use it even on a
- fixing a car you brought me your car I'm
- a mechanic I did is on your engine I
- fixed your engine so the
- word is a very beautiful
- word Deeds that benefit others so it's
- not only a good deed it actually benefit
- others
- actively a deed that fixes something
- fixes a problem like problem of poverty
- problem of hunger problem of
- homelessness problem of God knows what
- like it fixes it is is it is to fix
- something and from that came the word
- the
- adjective and Allah did not
- say they did a good deed he said and
- they did Good Deeds
- is plural
- of so and that's one type of like to
- pluralize a word in Arabic there's
- different ways
- there's and and and and this word is
- like uh very uncommon by the way this
- way of
- making also like for example
- it's a plural
- of and it's a general
- term it's amazing that Allah used this
- expression this expression
- in is the last time Allah
- used and this expression if I'm not
- mistaken it's like number 63 in the
- Quran meaning
- this like Allah describes the Believers
- they have an active faith and they
- practice their faith they turn it into
- Good Deeds
- 63 times in the Quran if I'm not
- mistaken maybe 66 67 but I know that
- that the the lowest number is around 62
- 63 this
- expression they had active faith and
- they did the good deeds in the Quran the
- last time it's mentioned in the Quran is
- in this Surah the chapter of time the
- chapter of in
- alquran the beautiful thing about the
- word it's General Good Deeds
- praying five times a day General it's a
- good deed and it's an
- obligation helping the homeless stopping
- by buying him a hot meal giving him a
- that's not an obligation but that
- is you make it an obligation on yourself
- that's a a general Good Deed helping
- someone with a flat tire on the road
- just please if you're trying to do that
- on a highway uh I would recommend you to
- stop but not get down from your car I've
- lost so many dear people because they
- got down from their car and another car
- hit them so if you're in the highway and
- you see someone that needs help let them
- stay in their car you stay in your car
- you call the uh the roadside
- assistants uh that will save your life
- and their lives don't try to change a
- flat tire on a highway the cars don't
- see you and they come at a high speed
- and then both of you will be gone the
- helper and the helped and we don't want
- that um so the idea of helping someone
- with a flat tire that's generally Good
- Deed smiling in the face of someone you
- see someone down you say hello how are
- you Salam alaykum how are you how's it
- going can I help you are you
- okay uh you try to make cheer up someone
- someone is in financial problem they
- can't pay the rent that's a general Good
- Deed uh someone um fell under debt
- cannot pay their credit card you help
- them that that's a good deed I don't
- know what it is it's anything anything
- and Allah described the Believers that
- they
- do they believe they have active faith
- and they do good deeds
- now if you from the people who believe
- and did Good Deeds then then Allah is
- saying it in the form of a plural
- meaning where's your crew where's your
- like let's say gang the good gang
- obviously where's your crew where's your
- crowd where's the people that you're
- going to serve Allah with and do good
- deeds with so there's in this ayat
- there's an invitation to Collective
- group
- work Allah didn't say except the
- believer no he said except those who
- believed
- Believers and they did Good Deeds
- plural and they advised one another to
- stick to the truth and they advised one
- another to persevere to
- endure so they advise one another to
- stick to the truth
- why because once you do good you believe
- and you do good deed you're going to be
- from the
- minority and you might start slipping
- away you might start losing your faith
- you might start
- uh becoming weak so you need someone to
- say stay strong stick to the truth we're
- together in this we can do it we're a
- compute we're we're a group of Believers
- we do good deeds we help Humanity we
- help the planet we help animals we help
- we we nurture and preserve and and grow
- anything that is good on this Earth
- don't give up you know so to remind
- someone of the truth don't deviate from
- the the path don't get so depressed and
- now next thing we know you're doing
- Haram and drinking and on drugs and this
- because of pressure no no no pressure
- leads to growth pressure is good for the
- believer pressure creates the Four
- Seasons pressure
- creates uh experience it creates growth
- it's it it filters the good from the bad
- even inside you pressure makes the bad
- go away if you want it that way
- obviously so so the idea here is stick
- to the
- truth the word taas in Arabic is also
- very beautiful word it's a
- word um uh a
- word uh
- is the word is say a word that is used
- in the
- Quran as
- um as a word that refers
- to giving a sincere
- wholeheartedly advise to someone that
- you love and you cherish like when the
- father or the mother are on their death
- bed and they give the final advice to
- their children
- that's it's an advice that is comes with
- from the most sincere compassionate part
- of your soul and heart and mind so Allah
- says the Believers advise one another
- in Arabic is a word that uh can be two
- ways it mean two meanings Al meaning
- Truth Versus
- Falsehood and Al meaning rights human
- rights like rights your rights the
- people's rights planets like plants
- rights animals rights right so Al in
- Arabic has it means Truth Versus
- Falsehood that's one definition of the
- word Al also Al in Arabic and in the
- Quran refers
- to meanings right versus oppression so
- Truth Versus Falsehood right versus
- oppression or aggression or taking
- rights away right so I can say our y
- brothers and sisters they say when they
- say this is mine they
- say this is my right and what they mean
- I own this this car is
- right this is this is my right meaning I
- own it this is very beautiful way how
- yanes speak you know uh and they use
- this word so H
- is Truth Versus Falsehood and H is Right
- versus oppression any right
- so they advise one
- another stick to the truth Truth Versus
- Falsehood don't deviate they advise one
- another don't take the rights of the
- others don't oppress them don't be
- aggressor don't do this don't do
- that and they um and they advise one
- another to have perseverance and
- endurance I feel that people keep on
- translating the word sa in the Quran to
- the to patience or I am patient and when
- you ask them what do you mean like you
- your patient they say I'm going to wait
- until the problem goes
- away that's not the sa that is referred
- to the Quran the sa that is referred to
- in the Quran is beyond that because
- anyone can do that I'm just going to
- wait till the problem goes away let me
- let me just wait let me see if the
- problem is going to go away no when
- pressure hits you when the test that
- trial tribulation hit you you stick to
- the principles of your Dean you you you
- you keep on practicing your faith you
- keep on doing your five daily prayers
- you give your charity you smile you
- don't oppress others just because others
- oppressed you you don't give up on the
- principles of your faith
- right they say there's three types of sa
- one perseverance in doing
- what is good and what you are obliged to
- do prayers fasting charity H pilgrimage
- you know
- this to endure and and keep on
- practicing what your obligations and the
- Good Deeds the good things not because
- oh you went through hardship you come
- and say oh I've been praying my whole
- life and I've been praying Dua to Allah
- but didn't happen nothing happened etc
- etc etc so I'm going to just give stop
- praying now you don't have sa you
- stopped your
- endurance your perseverance your
- consistency your
- persistency that's what subber means so
- persistency in doing good persistency in
- not doing evil stay away from that which
- is forbidden stay away from oppressing
- others stay away from being an aggressor
- stay away from lying cheating backbiting
- slandering all of that number
- three uh uh uh
- this and number three is perseverance so
- perseverance saber to do good saber to
- stay away from Evil and Haram and bad
- and the last subber is to have saber
- when hardship hits you I don't know you
- become sick I don't know you lose your
- money I don't know you lose a loved one
- you don't lose your IM because you got
- pressured you actually stay with Allah
- and they say the highest is that's like
- the fourth level of sa first level to do
- good
- consistently second sa is to stay away
- from Haram
- consistently third sa is to um uh
- uh
- stay with strong Iman when hardship
- hits and keep on doing what you're
- supposed to do keep on your Dua and and
- Quran and and
- and number
- four that you are always with Allah
- you're consistent persistent you will
- persevere you will
- endure with Allah and for the sake of
- Allah anything
- so this is something very very important
- to understand and uh uh you know just
- just to uh conclude that yeah you know
- Subhan Allah if we think that this is
- dun right like this is uh let me write
- here this is
- alun and uh this
- is and let's say this is like basically
- hell God forbid inshallah and this is
- like a
- j heaven right basically
- heaven or
- Paradise uh this is basically here
- after so basically if this side of Our
- Lives let me draw a line here if this
- side of our life is our this life that
- we come with nothing and then we leave
- with nothing and this side is life you
- know like Hereafter or life after right
- um and then this is let's say Jenna here
- and the bottom here like let's say God
- forbid this is hell right so right so
- then then what happens when you are
- here this is the you see there's a
- beginning and there's an end here
- there's a this is the end this is the
- beginning so here is what we call finite
- this is finite this is limited here is
- what we call called infinite
- forever they shall live in there forever
- for eternity twice Allah put
- confirmation twice forever for eternity
- right so this is what happens when you
- do a good deed what happens when you do
- one two three
- four you break this cycle of loss
- because here this is the point of death
- if you die as a loser you never believe
- it gets worse it's not going to get
- better people kill themselves they go
- through suicide thinking if when they
- die it's going to get better it's not
- going to get better that's the scary
- stuff that's that's why you don't want
- to ever ever ever get to kill
- yourself from here the believer bounces
- up and is going to get better and better
- and better all the way going to
- Jenna and it's going to be Infinity
- basically like no stopping it just keeps
- on getting better and better and better
- and better instead of here getting worse
- and worse and worse and worse it keeps
- on getting better and better and better
- and better and better and what happens
- when you do this one two three 4 let me
- write here one two three four this one
- this one two 3
- four what happened you basically let's
- say there's a moment here I don't know
- this moment
- this moment is finite it's one minute
- but in that one minute you smiled in the
- face of person you had a good
- conversation you had a sandwich in your
- head and you passed it to a hungry
- person you spoke the truth to a tyrant
- you invited someone to the truth to
- Islam and you shared with them your your
- faith and you know you left them to they
- can make their decision on their own but
- you tried right so this is every moment
- here is finite you did a good deed in
- this one moment so this dot is one
- moment it's just a DOT what happen when
- you do this dot you go from here you
- turn that which is finite to that which
- is
- infinite so the moments here and
- Hereafter they're infinite moments like
- time doesn't stop like there's no time
- basically it's over no Sunrise no Sunset
- no so what happens you go from from here
- to here and that is the phenomenal thing
- about being a Muslim you're constantly
- transferring moments from being finite
- to being infinite finite to infinite
- finite to infinite that's every time you
- do the one two 3 4 you're sitting down
- right now
- learning right from this program
- whatever you know webinar arranged byan
- Foundation may Allah reward them for
- arranging this webinar you know you're
- doing this and you're like basically
- you're going from here to here this is
- insane right so so you're sitting down
- learning right now this is called you're
- in number one every moment you spent
- right now you transferred number one
- from finite to
- infinite you go then you go and apply
- let's say you decide to donate toan
- Foundation right um because of their
- projects with everyone I as I told you
- job training education for Children
- Health Care uh F feeding etc etc amazing
- right or you decide to let's say donate
- to taasa taasa we teach youth we teach
- all ages young old men
- women even though at this moment in the
- world I encourage you to to donate to
- the poor people especially people in
- Gaza and people in Lebanon and Syria and
- all of these Subhan
- but the idea here
- is number two find a partner in faith
- partner in faith that's that's a whole
- model that we have at is we always find
- a partner of faith and then you grow up
- with them in your IM so you remind each
- other stick to the truth and don't
- oppress others don't take the rights of
- others and stick to the truth don't
- don't deviate from the truth and number
- four you you you you you say let's when
- you are alone you you fall easily when
- you are with other people that have the
- same agenda you you basically get better
- and
- better
- endurance this cannot be done when you
- are alone this has to be in a teamwork
- setting and that's why Allah expect us
- to be an um like a Community of Faith an
- community that actively
- is active in their Iman in their faith
- active in their action active in
- sticking to the truth active in stopping
- oppression from happening active in uh
- perseverance and endurance during the
- easy times and the hard times right
- sometimes when life becomes easy it's uh
- it's uh it's also a test people forget
- Allah because everything is going
- perfect they think we don't need Allah
- they don't say that loud but that's what
- they think right and that's what Shan
- makes them go astray so uh that was my
- presentation for
- today and brothers inan foundation and
- uh I'll leave it to give it back to you
- to Le the second
- part yes I'm
- sorry for the well structured
- presentation the it's it's very rich
- there's a lot of very good food for
- thought very uh practical points of
- benefit for myself and anyone and
- everybody else uh that's you know tuning
- in to benefit from this inshallah just
- for the sake of time I know you have a
- lot going on and for any time that you
- set aside for this my L except the time
- effort the
- preparation BL you and and your family
- always me if I can uh conclude with with
- one uh one one question if somebody
- found themselves struggling with the
- second and if they maybe from this
- webinar maybe from you know something
- that happened in their lives if they
- feel that they want to shift gears and
- they want to get out of uh maybe going
- in the wrong direction out of a bad
- situation and they have this spark of
- inspiration I want to change and go in
- the right direction I want to join those
- doing these four things what practic
- iCal advice would you have for them if
- they want to now shift gears and and
- transition to going in the right
- direction I mean alhamdulillah so one of
- the Allah tells us that we have an enemy
- unseen uh enemy which is Shan and we
- have a beautiful unseen supporter which
- is Angels
- Mala and people complain about Shan but
- from what we can see from the prophetic
- sayings that any given Muslim has 10
- Angels joining him from to that's the
- day shift and then they give it to the
- next shift of evening from to so you at
- any given time you have 20 angels 10 in
- the morning 10 in the evening and they
- switch and they report to Allah the
- people angel in the morning report to
- Allah then the one in the evening report
- to Allah uh so you have 20 angels and
- you have one devil that's trying to
- mislead you so you're you're in a good
- shape you got a whole army with you so
- don't worry about that but what one of
- the tricks of Shan is science right and
- and our life experience even if there's
- no science say it's like time moves in
- one Arrow like it always going forward
- right so what Allah invites Us in the
- Quran you did something good you did
- something evil right do you want to
- change it yes then go through the
- process of Toba what's Toba repentance
- what are the process of Toba four steps
- stop what you're doing wrong right
- now if you're smoking stop smoking
- you're drinking stop drinking if you're
- I don't know messing around committing
- adultery and fornication stop today
- right now stop today make the intention
- I'm not going to do it
- again stop it number one make the
- intention that you will not do it again
- number two show remorse to God number
- three follow a bad deed with a good deed
- number
- four and Allah
- says I will forgive you not only I will
- forgive you I will erase the bad Deed
- from your record obviously unless there
- is a human right involved meaning you
- took someone's money you can't just
- repent to God you have to give them back
- their
- money you have to give them back their
- money
- um
- so except if you're a Believer you're
- not in the state of loss you're in the
- state of gain so what happens Shan one
- of his tricks is to make you live in the
- past so he pushes you in a time errow
- that goes
- back this going back in time and living
- in the past and constantly victimizing
- yourself because I don't Know What You
- Did in your past or I don't know what
- your mom did to you what your dad did to
- you what your God knows boss or friend
- or someone did something violated you
- right they could
- have you know I use this with people
- that went through rape right I said
- that's that was not your fault right
- someone attack don't live in the past
- because when you live in the past you
- become
- delusional because you cannot go back
- into to the past the past is gone time
- always moves in one Arrow the direction
- of time is always moving forward you
- cannot go right left up down backward
- you can only go forward in space you can
- go in all eight directions like front
- back right left up down sideways you can
- move in all directions this is living in
- the past living in the past is from the
- devil The Devil Makes You delusional
- there is you cannot live in the past so
- what does Allah propose literally move
- forward move forward with time how one
- intend not to do the action again two
- stop doing the action three um show
- remorse and make prayers to God right
- that he will accept your
- repentance uh for if you heard someone
- took someone's right give it back to
- them
- five follow a bad deed with a good deed
- the good deed might be that you returned
- the money that you
- stole that's the good deed so you
- restored someone else the good deed
- might be you spoke evil about someone in
- front of someone you're back bited and
- slander you go back in front of that
- person you say I was wrong that person
- is good and I was wrong to backbite them
- now you made the other person whole and
- complete
- again this issue don't become delusional
- this idea and I feel it's a it's it's a
- like a double sword of the Shan on one
- side he makes you live in the past on
- the other
- side he makes you live in the state of
- helplessness and
- hopelessness
- and paralyzation like you become
- paralyzed and you do everything except
- the thing that you should do which is
- repent with the four to five steps of
- repentance you do everything you get
- depressed you you get sad you get angry
- you going God knows and then he he with
- this sadness and depression he tells you
- oh you've been regretting so much you've
- been sad so much you've been in pain and
- depression so it's time to go and have a
- drink you go now and disobey Allah all
- over again in the name of I want to
- forget what I did wrong okay you don't
- forget about it nor you live the past
- you just remember okay so now I go 1 two
- 3 four five move forward Allah said not
- only I will forgive the sins in the past
- that's number one I will forgive it
- forgiveness in Arabic is to
- cover cover number
- two Allah erases it because
- he's is different than so there's three
- mechanisms of forgiveness that Allah
- uses that no one else can use number one
- he covered this sin you when you look at
- your book of deed if you were able to
- look but if you look you you know it's
- there but it says it's
- forgiven then Allah does number two
- forgiveness level two
- forgiveness Allah erases it erases it
- like you take an eraser you erase it so
- now you look there's no oh he did the
- sin then God forgive him no no no
- there's no
- sin number three Allah will go back to
- that bad deed and will write on it that
- you actually did a good deed so when you
- wake up on the day of judgment you're
- looking expecting to see the bad deed
- that you did instead of it you see that
- you did a good
- deed no one can do that but Allah subh
- tala this is insane this is unbelievable
- this is beautiful because there is only
- one
- God and that one God can do what no one
- else can why because there is no other
- God that can do what Allah can do it's
- only one it is only one that can do this
- and that's Allah people instead of going
- for
- Allah that can do things that no one
- else can do they go for Shan and they
- become delusional and they live in the
- past and they live in guilt and they
- live in regret and they live in
- depression and they live in sadness and
- then they go and do more Haram to make
- to forget the depression and sadness and
- it becomes a cycle you do wrong you get
- depressed you go do more wrong to forget
- the wrong that you did which means you
- now you have another wrong you get
- depressed you give up you go and do more
- wrong and then Shan C catches you in
- that that's what Allah warned us from in
- the Quran we should never ever do that
- but
- again so essentially at the at the core
- of that that uh
- taking that step in in in the right
- direction Toba is really the The X
- Factor it's the GameChanger if someone
- connects with Toba and they uh look at
- okay what do I need to correct what's
- between me and Allah between myself and
- Allah's creation and like you said
- earlier in connection with it's not the
- way that patience uh is seen even though
- sa as you mentioned is is much broader
- than just this idea of patience it's
- it's not something passive it's
- something active so man is active is
- active our Dean commands us to action so
- Toba likewise is something active it's
- not uh sufficient to just think about
- asking Allah for forgiveness but to
- actively ask Allah for forgiveness and
- then to explore creative ways how can I
- replace this bad deed with this good
- deed and then Allah will open doors to
- facilitate things further inshallah for
- the the wonderful presentation may Allah
- the time the effort May Lord bless you
- anything as we wrap up anything that you
- want to share in connection yes uh
- actually when you were I see that you
- type that you type highlights when I'm
- talking and in one of your highlights
- you wrote uh pressure can be good or bad
- I actually believe that pressure is
- always good for the believer uh it's
- never bad it's always will make you a
- better person out of you and um that
- what I say that's what I believe because
- if pressure happens if it happened you
- didn't trigger pressure on yourself like
- if you brought pressure on yourself then
- stop it and stop pressuring yourself but
- if pressure is imposed on
- you you're driving perfectly fine on the
- highway perfectly speed limit 65 mil
- hour seat belt everything is perfect in
- your lane and someone comes and slams in
- you next thing you know you're paralyzed
- from the neck
- down you can live in depression for the
- rest of your life or you can think that
- that is since it happened and since
- Allah allowed it to happen it can only
- be good and you will you have to set up
- your mind that this is something good
- this is a pressure this is will last my
- lifetime usually when you're paralyzed
- from the neck down you can never have
- your sense back but since it happened
- and it was out of my control it was not
- a result like I
- smoked to death and then I ended up with
- a lung cancer that's a different issue
- that needs a repentance stop and turn
- around uh I'm talking about outside of
- your control pressure it means the fact
- that it happened it means Allah allowed
- it to happen the fact that Allah allowed
- it to happen and you are a Muslim that
- says there's no God but one God and you
- put your trust in
- that means Allah allowed it to happen
- only for a good reason only for a good
- reason so move on with the good reason
- don't go negative don't think it's bad
- don't let it destroy you no pressure
- should be destructive to AV if you did
- something wrong you know what to do
- repentance 1 2 3 four five we already
- spoke about that if it you didn't do
- anything wrong and someone wrong to like
- now the the people in GZA back again at
- the end of this
- presentation like these children these
- men wom you know 2 million people
- they're having bombs what wrong did they
- do they're literally telling them move
- from north to south while they're moving
- they're hitting them if they don't move
- they hit them in the South they're
- hitting them they're heading everywhere
- so is that their fault no that's blaming
- the
- victim that and telling them oh you're a
- victim because you like you brought it
- on yourself there's nothing like that in
- Islam
- but at the end of the day we know that
- Allah will reward them so much and this
- everything that happened to them will be
- good what I'm worried about is US did we
- do enough to help them that's where we
- should worry but if something happens
- outside of your control and is
- pressuring you to the max relax it's
- from Allah deal with it with your IM
- with your active Faith look at it
- positively because IM will make you see
- everything positive and use it as a
- chance to grow and mature and become
- stronger as it's known they say the hit
- that doesn't kill you or break you it
- makes you stronger right so that's my uh
- conclusion may Allah accept the again
- the the time and the effort
- for Reflections and especially in
- connection
- with and having company and being around
- the right
- people than for hosting me I'm sorry
- thank you for hosting me
- YouTube I I was gonna ask if if people
- wanted to find more of your work with
- with taasa where can they find you where
- can they offer may Allah bless you so if
- you put taso.org t a w s aw.org
- and you there's two buttons one it says
- contribute you can contribute by
- donating or you can contribute by
- volunteering and taasa is a set of
- programs established on mentoring like
- bringing back the prophetic model in
- teaching mentoring mentoring mentoring
- it's a prophetic model uh that we're
- trying to revive we're not inventing
- anything new so basically it's
- mentorship the old mentors the younger
- within a training and guidelines and
- like a an well organized structure the
- purpose is to literally just apply
- that's a whole point of as an
- organization is to empower and enable
- Muslims to practice in their daily life
- collectively as a group so we invite
- anyone to come suggest donate help um
- give us their expertise in whatever
- field they have we we would love to have
- that the time is very appreciated I know
- you have a lot of different thank you
- coming on you're connected to a lot of
- different good may Allah accept
- all Allah have his utmost Mercy on the
- people of and give them Victory and give
- them security and give them an end to
- this pain and suffering
