Talk · Your Relationship With Allah | 2025 Ramadan Series, part 7 of 31
What Do You Know? | Your Relationship With Allah Ep.6 | Sh. Alauddin ElBakri | Ramadan Series
Shaykh Alauddin ElBakri
- As-salāmu ʿalaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh
- Welcome back to Tawassaw's Ramadan series for the year 1446
- Last episode we talked about the state of the human and his defects that Allah exposed to the human The Noble Quran
- We will move on with that and explore more verses that expose ourselves to us
- because this will affect your relationship with Allah SWT
- Allah tells us in the Quran
- (and you ˹O humanity˺ have been given but little knowledge)
- And you have only been given little of knowledge
- The human does not like to be dumbfounded
- It's very interesting that when we go from being children that we know nothing about nothing
- and we don't care if someone tells us you don't know
- Once we switch to being teenagers and we start developing the adult psychology
- we become very insulted if someone tells us you don't know
- You kind of fight it back
- No I know!
- It's very interesting how you know teenagers act as if they know everything suddenly
- Why?
- Because the human hates to be dumbfounded and that's an encouragement to go and learn
- But what we find from scientists
- that the more you learn and the more you know the more you discover how much you don't know
- Scientists just about 50 years ago they used to tell us the universe is made of atoms
- Right now we find out that only 4% of the universe is made of atoms
- 96% we have no idea what's going on
- We have identified it and categorized it in two categories
- Dark matter and dark energy
- This shows that 96% science today and all of those who are in the field of science
- when they talk so confidently and they are so sure about God not existing
- they actually only know about 4% of what's going on in this universe
- or what exists in this universe
- If that's not the fulfillment of the verse when Allah says
- (and you ˹O humanity˺ have been given but little knowledge)
- and you have only been given a little knowledge
- then what does? 4% versus 96%?
- This goes on, Allah the Mighty and the Majestic tells us that in our relationship with Him
- we have to make peace with the idea that we don't know and Allah knows
- that we might like something that is bad for us
- (Perhaps you dislike something which is good for you)
- Maybe you hate something and it's good for you
- and maybe you love something and it is bad for you
- and Allah knows and you don't
- It's very important to realize that our relationship with Allah
- is not relationship of equals, we're not equal to God
- We are honored to be His servants, His slaves on earth
- and He's the most merciful SWT
- Allah SWT remedies that
- When Allah tells you you have been only given little knowledge
- when Allah tells you I know and you don't know
- He has a remedy for that
- and this remedy came in the first five verses in The Noble Quran
- (Read, ˹O Prophet,˺ in the Name of your Lord Who created, created humans from a clinging clot.
- Read! And your Lord is the Most Generous)
- Read and your Lord is the Most Generous
- (Who taught by the pen)
- He taught with the pen
- We the human beings are the only species that write with the pen
- and here is the verse that says
- (taught humanity what they knew not)
- He taught the human what he knows not
- So Allah SWT Has opened the door for us
- that we would seek His knowledge
- we would seek to learn from Him
- and that Allah will happily with generosity
- teach us that which we don't know
- You see this goes even with what we know
- Sometimes we read things in the Quran
- and you will find Muslims before non-Muslims
- They will object on something in the Quran
- I am not gonna do that because I don't understand it
- The fact that you don't understand something
- does not mean it's not true
- That it's not for your benefit
- Who's talking?
- You the human about who?
- About God Almighty the One who created you?
- The One whose name is All-Knowing
- How can we have a healthy normal relationship
- with Allah SWT
- when we cannot make peace with this point?
- The entire establishment of Islam
- is that you would submit to Allah SWT
- that you trust Allah
- You trust Allah's judgment
- You trust Allah's laws
- You trust when He tells you do this
- Don't do that
- Open your mind
- This is very very important
- and until and unless we realize this point
- and until we start seeking knowledge
- the knowledge of this religion of the faith
- and the knowledge of the life
- Very interesting in the recent times
- as science is advancing day after day
- we're finding that these scientists
- are becoming Muslim
- that their science did not push them away from Allah
- but rather brought them closer to Allah
- as Allah said in the Quran
- (only the knowledgeable ˹of His might˺ are ˹truly˺ in awe of Him)
- That truly the one who fears Allah
- of His servants are those of knowledge
- and Allah did not specify in this verse
- which knowledge
- like the knowledge of the religion
- or the knowledge of the life
- So we're finding doctors, astronomers
- you know physicists becoming Muslims
- and that is because we find
- that there is no contradiction
- between the holy scripture of the Quran and science
- As a matter of fact
- science goes through waves
- We know, we don't know, we know
- and it seems they always come back
- to what is in The Noble Quran
- It's very very crucial
- and essential for your relationship with Allah
- to make peace with Allah knows
- and you don't know
- that when Allah set Islam
- the laws of Islam
- he set them for your own benefit
- that whether you understand the wisdom
- behind what Allah is saying or not
- should not be the decisive factor
- for you to follow it or not
- We follow, we grow in our faith
- and then believe me
- my experience has been
- Allah will always show you the point
- If you don't know what's the point
- of why Allah said this or that
- just submit and believe me
- Allah will show you the point
- and you will be the happiest person in life
- that you obeyed first
- and then you learn the reason why second
- May Allah the Mighty and the Majestic open our hearts
- teach us what we don't know
- increase our knowledge
- as Allah instructed the Prophet to make prayer
- (and pray, “My Lord! Increase me in knowledge.”)
- Ameen Ya Rabb Alameen
- Wasalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh
