Winning This Ramadan - Part 3
Shaykh Alauddin ElBakri (unverified)
1 moment mention “Mercy”:
- winning this ramadan right
- winning this ramallah can you remove the
- fmca part okay
- that's all and then and then
- from the title can we remove it from all
- of them at once yes yes
- okay the second thing is can you give me
- when is asia when is asia calling isha
- is at 9 15. 9 15. they're gonna they're
- going to start prayer 9 15 correct do
- you want to remove mca you know keep mca
- exactly part three just keep it part
- three
- thank you
- now
- um i want
- someone to warn me before asha by 15
- minutes because i need to do the juzo
- summary okay
- can you warn me like nine o'clock
- or even five to nine you tell me like
- this five to nine like this
- april first
- i don't have a mic
- foreign
- [Music]
- [Music]
- bismillah
- bismillah
- [Music]
- by the way i don't need it
- it was totally
- foreign
- um
- [Music]
- [Music]
- i
- come on
- thank you
- let's
- get ready to start
- first of all i would like to say to all
- of you
- ramadan
- and ramadan
- will bring the karam of allah subhanahu
- ta'ala
- to us
- so it's ramadan kareem it's because it
- comes from arab that is kareem you know
- so that's why
- you know it's a gift from allah and it's
- very interesting just to live the
- environment
- as we speak right now
- you have to kind of
- feel it in your mind and in your heart
- and your soul that all the gates of
- jannah
- have been
- opened one after another the prophet
- salallahu salem just wanted to give an
- imagination to people that he told them
- like from
- basically
- that the width of one door one gate
- and that's just to get you to understand
- it's a huge gaze
- and the prophet sallallahu alaihi
- wasallam said what they will come and
- those eight gates will be crowded
- you can't even get in
- that's insha'allah we are one of these
- people that will be
- pushing and crowding to intergen
- inshallah
- so
- i start
- as usually
- the traditional beautiful way in
- alhamdulillah
- foreign
- so what are we going to do today
- today we are going to do two things um
- we're going to finish this seminar that
- we started inshallah we'll try and maybe
- we'll continue
- after the eight raka if we'll see
- but i'll try to wrap things up but also
- towards the end we will do
- summary so inshallah you can go to the
- you know wbma mca my my personal uh you
- know facebook and you will find
- inshallah the
- summary
- um uh on every day after madrid you know
- after iftar by
- um
- what time is if not today was 7 35 you
- know
- you know so 7 35 see around
- 8 10
- you know we do a quick 5 to 10 minutes
- the summary so that when you come
- to hear the jesus from the imam
- you kind of have an idea what the imam
- will recite today
- so inshallah starting from tomorrow
- we'll be going live around 8 10 8 15
- just so that all the listeners are clear
- today we're starting early obviously and
- inshallah tomorrow will be our first day
- of fasting insha'allah
- so
- what we were trying to cover since the
- beginning
- are four topics
- they're all connected to one another so
- in the big picture we understand how
- ramadan works ramadan is like a matrix a
- system
- and the same one that designed those
- galaxies those
- you know stars with and black holes the
- same
- god that created allah
- and the same god who created
- is the same god same illah
- that sent for us this deen islam so
- islam on the surface it looks simple
- just like right now you look at
- you know the world everything sunrise
- sunset it's predictable it's simple but
- when scientists went down to the deep of
- the atom
- then
- everything started not making sense and
- they started talking about the subatomic
- particles and quantum physics to a point
- where the most famous saying
- of the
- physicists who are concerned about the
- atom and the smaller atoms they say
- if you think you understood
- quantum physics that means you did not
- understand it
- and those are the top-notch people in
- the field they say it's just so elusive
- how
- the the universe functions on a big
- level macro level totally different than
- it functions on a micro level the same
- illah allah subhanahu wa'ta'ala who
- designed the universe is the same that
- designed islam so let's not over
- simplify islam and think it's a simple
- simple not all the time it is simple and
- you know it seems the voice is coming
- back and forth so what are the four
- topics first topic we covered
- we talked about the month of ramadan and
- how the month of ramadan historically
- before there was ever fasting in ramadan
- it was a special month
- the story of islam
- your story my story why we are muslims
- today
- it's because of one night that took
- place
- in ramadan
- we have a there's a western tradition
- it's called birthday birthday party
- the day you were born
- you celebrate
- it looks cute when you're younger when
- you get older you don't want to do a
- birthday party you don't want to invite
- anyone you don't want to tell people how
- old are you and what is it there to
- celebrate you're closer to death by one
- year you didn't gain one year you just
- lost one year of your entire life so
- good luck
- we don't do that but
- subhanallah when it comes if someone to
- ask you by the way what's the birthday
- of islam
- first of all from the day allah created
- adam
- allah sent him with al-islam it's the
- same simple formula but very
- sophisticated remember simple but also
- deep
- and sophisticated
- but for us
- muslims the ummah of prophet muhammad
- sallallahu alaihi wasallam
- the birthday of islam
- is
- the month of ramadan
- the year that the prophet salallahu
- sallam was 40 years lunar years which
- means 39 solar years the way you and i
- count our age he was 39 the lunar years
- he was 40.
- and it happened most likely around the
- year 609 610 611. what year are we in
- today 2022.
- we're in 2022 in the year 14
- 43 hijriya
- very good so
- think with me now you and i are sitting
- people thought the end of the world was
- morocco anyone from morocco here
- mashallah
- so do you know what they called morocco
- they called it the west not a west
- there's no more
- there's nothing after that there is
- ocean then you fall off the cliff the
- after the atlantic one they did not know
- that there is people here muslims knew
- and muslim came to this land i believe
- before and that's why christopher
- columbus when he saw them he said those
- are morris
- the same year muslims lost spain is the
- same year christopher columbus landed
- here muslims lost spain around february
- march
- and on august
- you know queen isabella and king
- fernandez financed
- the
- italian sailor christopher columbus and
- he came here and he thought he landed in
- india
- so he said they look like indian because
- they didn't know there is a continent in
- the middle they were just trying to find
- a shortcut to china and india so that
- they have a shortcut he landed on a
- whole other land same year 1492.
- so
- to think about this we are right now
- sitting on the new west where are we
- california how far are we from the ocean
- half an hour
- what is this this is the new al maghrib
- that's why some people like to call it
- california
- california
- anyway we are at the newest there's no
- more west from here
- massive land continent there's more
- islands you go to hawaii you go to the
- uh
- samoan uh you go to the pacific
- islanders you reach to the philippines
- then to indonesia malaysia there is no
- more mass land from here so look at you
- and i year 2022
- what is 2022
- minus 610.
- yellow
- pull your phones and calculate it
- ain't nobody doing math with their head
- anymore
- so 2 000 minus 600 very easy you don't
- know how to do this simplify the amount
- that's 1400
- 610
- right so that's 1390 but then you have
- 22
- that's
- you know
- fourteen
- fourteen
- uh
- twelve so
- so you just go back and forth in your
- head fourteen twelve one thousand four
- hundred and twelve years
- what are we doing in the month of the
- quran in the month of ramadan
- we are back
- the same book
- the same book and alhamdulillah
- you know just another gift so that allah
- lift up our spirit
- five years ago they released what they
- found a hundred years ago almost in a
- wall in a masjid in yemen
- they took it they found a copy of the
- quran took it to birmingham they kept it
- there they opened it did god been carbon
- dating they found it dates back to the
- time of the life of the prophet muhammad
- we have a copy from when he was alive
- the christians went even christian
- scientists they said muslims should be
- really excited about this
- the oldest bible is the one written by
- mark 100 years
- after the rise of jesus ali salaam and
- nobody sure who wrote the gospel of mark
- it says the gospel of mark but did mark
- write it nobody knows
- the earliest copy of the torah
- scientifically historically that is
- written was written six to eight hundred
- years after musa alaihissalam
- historically
- i believe it was written at his time it
- was early but what we know the earliest
- copies written is 600 to 800 years after
- musa al-islam we have a copy of the
- quran when the prophet sallallahu salaam
- was there what are the four topics that
- we're talking about the month of ramadan
- is the month of the quran
- it is the birthday of islam it is the
- night in which the prophet sallallahu
- alaihi received the first revelation and
- the story started again
- 124
- 000 prophets how many
- 124 000 profits
- 316 messengers how many
- 316 messengers right
- i'm doing some you know repetition the
- prophet sallallahu alaihi should it be
- the same thing three times and they
- found out right now when you read
- something three times it sticks in your
- head
- 316 messengers how many prophets
- 124 000 prophets the final for the last
- time jibreel ali salam comes
- and
- it brings the final book in day one
- narration the prophet sallallahu salaam
- said allah revealed 105 books
- 50 of them were for the son of adam
- sheikh not mentioned in the quran seth
- in in according to the bible
- 50 of them humanity was new they needed
- laws they needed them you know so there
- is different but of watch of 105 we know
- five
- sohaf ibrahim sohafi musa which is a
- torah
- as zaboor for satan
- and finally al-quran this revelation
- came to him
- in one of the nights of ramadan in the
- cave of hera
- and it came at night not in the day it
- came at night and it made every night in
- ramadan blessed
- so the first topic we covered is that
- ramadan is the month of the quran
- let's talk about ramadan so we talked
- about ramadan i cannot repeat that
- lecture second topic
- fasting what is fasting we talked about
- seven levels of fasting each level
- matches one of your layers as allah
- mentioned
- in the quran where like seven layers one
- layer laying on the top each layer needs
- a fasting and each layer has a different
- type of fasting from your body to your
- nephs emotional heart
- mind deep mind rooh and depth seven
- layers
- and each one and we talked about that in
- the first time we covered two topics
- then last friday we talked about
- a taqwa
- because allah told us in the quran
- just in case you are confused and you
- don't come up with answers from your
- head why do we fast so that we can feel
- with the poor
- no that's not the answer from the quran
- we fast so that we can gain taqwa that's
- why we fast so we went over the word
- taqwa and how allah used it to describe
- different things we went over like 30 40
- different types of taqwa that allah
- mentioned in the quran and that was not
- all of them obviously that was still
- part of them so one of the things that i
- thought maybe i can do a one minute
- live streaming every day in ramadan and
- just read an ayah and arabic translated
- in english and speak about it something
- within a minute or two just to give you
- a new type of taqwa every day right so
- we talked about that
- the final piece is
- we didn't speak about al-quran
- and that's what we want to talk about
- first night of ramadan couldn't have
- been better planned by allah that we
- ended up talking about the quran in the
- month of the quran and the first night
- of ramadan alhamdulillah
- this why these four topics are because
- allah simply said i want you to fast so
- there's fasting so that you can gain
- taqwa so there is taqwa
- i want you to fast so that you can gain
- taqwa that's the first ayah 183.
- then
- 184 gives you some details 185 allah
- says i want you to fast no
- the month of ramadan is the month in
- which the quran was revealed so
- whosoever witnessed the month let them
- faster
- so allah says i want you to fast
- so that you can gain taqwa
- specifically in the month of ramadan
- because it's the month of the quran
- if that is not clear in your head then
- ramadan is mushy in your head then
- nothing there is no clarity and as we
- will find out today one of the names of
- al-quran that allah keeps on repeating
- in the quran
- is mubin
- mubin
- what does mubin mean it doesn't only
- mean that the quran is clear clear
- message no no it is clarifying
- clarifying if it talks about the topic
- it will clarify it for you and that's
- very important so
- four topics has to be clear in your mind
- the quran
- allah said i want you to fast in the
- month of ramadan because fasting leads
- to taqwa
- but i want you to fast to gain taqwa in
- the month of ramadan why why not any
- other month because the month of ramadan
- is the month in which the quran was
- revealed so now
- if ramadan is the month of taqwa rama
- ramadan is the month of the quran
- and if fasting
- leads to taqwa
- are you with me
- ramadan is the month of the quran and
- fasting leads to taqwa then now we want
- to find out what
- relation we want to close the matrix the
- circle what's the relation between taqwa
- and the quran
- because allah is building a case in your
- head you have to know what's going on
- when you read the ayat ramadan is the
- month of the quran i want you to fast in
- ramadan which is the month of the quran
- so that you can gain taqwa so now it's
- your job to connect between taqwa and
- the quran and that's what we will
- attempt to do tonight insha allah and
- whether before isha or after isha and
- inshallah around
- 855 if you can just do like this for me
- so that i can switch to the summary so
- [Music]
- if you went through this before keep it
- to yourself this is the first time hear
- me hearing me asking you this question
- then enjoy the question
- i'm going to ask you a question very
- simple question does any one of you
- here has the quran with him
- do you have the quran with you anyone
- here
- okay show me
- where
- you wanna go and get one
- you sit down
- anyone else you guys don't ah
- thank you raise it high
- anyone else
- where do you have it
- you have it time that's on the phone
- guys nobody it's on the phone masha
- allah we have the type because i'm the
- shaykh and the imam and i'm special i am
- bigger than you all right
- i beat you
- look how nice is this i asked here
- brother you know saying
- to get me the quran where are you
- here and he got me this i said
- find me a nice
- you know quran inside so
- you will not
- be able to understand
- the quran and for it to open for you on
- in ramadan until you change this once
- and for all in your life
- took over and so many wars broke and
- people like the idea oh i'm a prophet oh
- i get followers oh i get money oh so
- they started one after another claiming
- that their prophets they started
- attacking medina sahaba had to fight
- back so many memorizers of the quran
- died
- so
- say say no
- the memorizers of the quran are dying
- right and left
- and people have written the quran in
- their homes
- while the prophet salallahu is alive
- so why don't we put together a committee
- collect
- the copies that are written
- collect from all the memorizers and make
- one record one book like you know just
- one record
- one binder that has the record
- what was the answer saying
- no way
- you want me to make a bidah
- what you and i
- called the quran
- according to abu bakr siddiq
- and to the rest of the sahaba it was
- called bida
- and it was a bidah
- so you're confused why is it
- because the prophet sallallahu alaihi
- by the time he died
- full-time
- hard writers 30 writers another
- part-time another 30 writers total 60
- but the the the tough ones 30 writers
- even among the 30 writers they were five
- strong writers that they always got the
- quran when rasulullah received
- he will call them they will come he will
- recite it they will memorize it and
- write it down and go home
- but the prophet sallallahu alaihi
- wasallam
- after he did that he did not tell
- in his life hey all of you get all the
- copies in your homes
- and make it one copy and bring it to me
- one copy he never asked that
- it stayed where
- at home everyone with his copy
- this form
- this form even with this very nice
- binder right
- this form
- of a key tab
- especially with these thin pages is
- something new human beings started
- writing like this something new the
- printing you know the printing just in
- germany the first printing thing and you
- know it's just a hundred years old
- so
- people lived and died
- at the time of the prophet sallallahu
- alaihi
- and they haven't seen something like
- this especially in arabia
- that had
- maybe one percent of the population that
- knew how to read and write
- so
- it took abu bakr
- one month
- of nagging on the head of satan abu bakr
- telling him let's do it let's do it
- let's do it and say that what said i'm
- not doing it i'm not doing it i'm not
- doing it
- finally allah opened the heart and the
- chest of saying
- and then he called zayd abner
- who was from quraish memorizer of the
- quran one of the writers too and was
- very very academic subhanallah
- we invented the academic method
- he said to him and the hadith is known
- or omar has come to me and asked me to
- write it like this in one collection and
- i have refused but after a month allah
- opened my heart so
- choose people with you to be in a
- committee
- and go and collect it from everyone that
- memorizes everyone that has written put
- a method and tell it to me and then go
- and execute the job
- saydna zaid abnorth habit made an
- academic way what's the academic way
- i need
- for me to write even though i memorize
- the whole quran but i'm the head of the
- committee and even though the five
- people with me they're also memorizers
- of the quran but we're not going to go
- by what we do
- we are going to bring for every ayah
- two witnesses
- two memorizers at least and two writers
- two memorizers and two writers once you
- bring me the memorization and the
- written then i add it in this one copy
- this copy represents all the other what
- copies
- so what happened
- they did nothing
- stayed at it
- for a year or two until he finished the
- job
- and came to saydna
- and gave him the first copy
- the first universal collected agreed
- upon copy of al-quran
- the sahaba looked at it and they were
- fascinated they've never seen anything
- like this
- just so that you know
- 99 of the sahaba lived and died and
- they've never seen the quran in this
- form
- 99 of muslims
- 99.9999
- like elections in the arab world
- like 99 99.99
- you understand
- of the entire muslim world
- of the entire muslim world
- converted to islam from morocco to china
- xi'an china all the way to morocco and
- from north borders of russia
- south to south africa
- islam spread in 30 to 50 years like
- you've never seen before and without
- the sword you know the conquering had
- nothing to do with the converting
- as a matter of fact
- there are countries that muslims
- conquered and the people did not convert
- and there are countries that muslims did
- not convert and the people converted
- not a single muslim soldier landed in
- malaysia indonesia or singapore they all
- mostly became muslim
- but muslims landed and ruled like kings
- for 1 000 years in india
- for every one muslim in india and here i
- mean india bangladesh pakistan let's put
- them back together
- in one india and who created india
- aurangzeb a muslim king there was no
- india before there were small kingdoms
- small kingdoms and rajas and khans and
- everyone was ruling one or two cities
- the one who united all of india in one
- kingdom was a muslim king his name is
- he used to earn his living from writing
- the copies of the quran
- and then selling it in the market
- he never took a dime from the
- budget of the government so this
- in india muslims ruled for over a
- thousand years for every one muslim in
- india there is still two hindus
- because we never force people to become
- muslims it's a myth we never converted
- so where no muslim soldier landed
- everyone converted when muslim soldiers
- landed
- two out of three did not convert
- so islam did not spread by the sword but
- from morocco
- to where
- all the way to china and from turkey and
- anatolia all the way to where to
- southern south africa islam spread and
- not a single muslim saw this in their
- lifetime
- this was never a point of reference to
- what the quran is
- it's a point of reference to you and i
- in my imagination but your great great
- great great great grandfather who
- converted to islam you've never seen
- this
- and that's not why they converted islam
- because they saw the quran like this
- so the sahaba had a task at their hand
- they had a problem
- what do we call this
- what do we call it
- so in the arabic language
- one
- so when we put the soho together in one
- binder
- then it becomes mushaf
- the only people
- as far as i know
- in the muslim world
- that still call this its correct name
- are the egyptians
- do i have any egyptians in the room
- masha'allah
- your stocks are going high today
- inshallah
- and they even when they want to swear
- they don't say well quran they say well
- by the book of allah i did not lie by
- the book of allah i did this where's the
- word mushaf comes comes from the word
- did the sahabah call this quran
- no
- and if you want to enjoy quran starting
- tonight you need to clear that out of
- your mind and heart
- this is the mushaf okay so what's the
- difference in the mushaf when you open
- it
- definitely there is the record of
- so when does the mushaf that has the
- record of the quran
- when does it become quran
- it needs a human interaction
- you need to recite it loud
- why because the word quran came from the
- word qara
- meaning recited loud
- and reciting it loud
- makes it
- quran so when you recite the quran loud
- you take
- the word of allah from being ink on
- paper must have to become in quran
- the first word that was revealed is
- recite loud that's why
- whether it is
- [Music]
- but never recite the quran in your head
- in salah your lips have to always be
- moving and some breath is coming out
- even in the asar
- but they don't teach us that when we are
- young and we start reading in our head
- that's not called
- that's not quran that's in your head
- for you to count we need to move your
- lips without disturbing the people
- around you just move your lips you can
- barely hear yourself as long as you're
- moving your lips and the breath is
- coming out like the sahaba used to see
- the beard of the prophet moving from
- behind him in salat
- in every raka when he's reciting the
- quran you should also move your
- jaw and lips for this to become the
- quran so
- then what is the quran
- the quran
- allah described it with the most
- fascinating things
- it is
- i can barely hear
- allah
- foreign
- receive the quran
- always
- reciting
- rasulullah
- is listening
- when jibreel comes to the prophet
- sallallahu alaihi and he's reciting it
- to him
- he's coming in one of two formats one in
- the unseen and it's the most difficult
- on the prophet sallam when jibril used
- to descend down on him and rasool is
- sitting on his camel even his camel with
- big legs cannot sit down he had to set
- it down the camel
- pressure
- and then rasulallah will be sweating in
- a cold day
- that's one form of the other form which
- actually abundantly jibril is in a form
- of a human
- and the human as a human he sat in front
- of the prophet sallallahu and he recited
- quran and rasulullah
- heard it and it got engraved imprinted
- in his heart and he memorized it and
- then what
- and then he recited it to the people
- around him
- you understand
- so
- why in the world
- do we to the masjid to pray tarawih in
- ramadan
- do you know why so that we can
- experience the quran in its original
- form exactly like rasulullah sallam
- experienced it except jibril doesn't
- come on us nor he talks to us he already
- talked to the prophet salallahu
- what is the quran in its original form
- the quran in its own original form is a
- recitation that you hear understand
- internalize
- and practice and then it becomes part of
- you and recite if you recite it it
- becomes the quran if you don't recite it
- it's back to the muslif
- this has the record of the quran when
- islam spread people forgot the word
- mushaf and started calling this the
- quran
- if you go to the sahaba they never call
- this the quran they call it
- what was the quran so if i walked
- here and we had sahabi and sahabas and i
- asked him the same question
- which one of you has the quran they will
- all look at me confused what do you mean
- what do you mean i have the quran like
- do you mean i memorize it and you don't
- like do you mean i know a surah that you
- know do you mean you want me to recite
- something to you
- so what do we do
- during 30 nights of ramadan we come to
- the masjid and we hear the imam reciting
- the book of allah
- in the original form recitation and
- we're listening exactly like the prophet
- salallahu listen to it and it gets in
- our heart and that's why we try our best
- to come to the masjid every night and
- pray tarawih and witness the entire
- recitation of the quran other than
- reading it ourselves at home
- so both
- reciting is quran and listening to the
- quran what happens when you come to the
- masjid and listen to that you become
- part of the greatest chain of narrators
- a chain of narrator you listening it
- from your sheikh from
- who learned it from his shaykh who
- learned from his shaykh and william from
- his sheikh who learned from israel who
- learned from the prophet sallallahu
- alaihi
- who heard it
- from jibril alaihissalam who learned it
- from allah subhanahu ta'ala there isn't
- a greater synod that you can become and
- that's what happens when you come to the
- masjid and listen to the quran in the
- masjid from the imam reciting
- you become part of that silla you become
- part
- grant us the memorization of the entire
- quran in one day so that we can carry it
- where do we put this
- when we're done reading where do we put
- it
- where do we put this when we're done
- reading
- on the shelf
- the must-have you put it on the shelf
- where do you put the quran
- in your heart
- you need to liberate yourself from
- thinking that this is i have the quran
- no you don't
- i have the quran no you don't
- the quran is what is in your heart and
- what you understand and what you that's
- the quran this is the muslim you have
- the copy of the mushaf which holds the
- record of the quran no doubt this has
- nothing else but the record of the quran
- we're not i'm not saying that i'm not
- saying oh this is nothing no no this is
- great respect but the sahaba you know
- when
- rafa made seven copies
- he used to sit at home because they've
- never done and he used to sit down for
- hours at end
- [Music]
- and his wife will say
- you memorized this you've been sitting
- for hours what's going on he said come
- come look at the book of allah in the
- written format
- look this is this is totally strange to
- the sahaba looking at this was like whoa
- come look
- for us we think this is it
- for them
- this was very strange experience
- so we have to really bring back and
- that's why you know this is the most
- important point that i wanted to share
- with you
- tonight and if you look
- allah says in this in the record in the
- quran is the explanation of everything
- you go to google you see how many books
- in the library of the congress there is
- over 30 million books
- how 30 million books
- how's the quran have more than 30
- million books
- because you are thinking the quran is
- this
- the quran is the word of allah
- the quran has more than 30 million books
- the same god that created
- hundreds of and thousands of billions of
- galaxies is the same god who revealed
- this book
- the prophet sallallahu alaihi when
- people are resurrected on the day of
- judgment
- scholars not scholars when they stand on
- the day of judgment and they listen
- to how when the quran is recited and
- explained the prophet said
- as if no one ever read it and no one
- ever understood it when allah start
- bringing from the quran the treasures
- and the gems
- so
- liberate yourself and start now we're
- going to start when you hear the word
- quran we're not going to think this
- anymore when you hear the word mushaf
- this is the muslim
- what's in the mushaf the record of the
- quran
- where is the quran what is the quran
- what did allah call the quran
- what did allah call the quran
- and be careful arabic is very specific
- allah didn't call the quran
- he called it shifa
- muslims started writing the quran
- with an ink you know the old ink pens
- they write the quran then they take the
- paper and they like wash it with water
- then they drink the water
- allah didn't say it's
- he said it's shifa shifa is healing
- shifa is on a higher level dawah is on a
- physical level shifa goes way beyond the
- physics above and beyond what did allah
- call the quran
- what did allah call the quran
- the reminder
- what did allah call the quran
- by the way another point i need to
- clarify for you ya sheikh you said this
- is not why did allah call the quran
- isn't this kitab
- this is the modern
- meaning of the word kitab the words
- kitab at the time of the prophet
- salallahu meant
- an important message an important
- message it didn't mean a book like this
- what's the first surah revealed in in
- in makkah it is
- that is the book you're reading and
- what's going in your head
- but when surat al-baqarah was revealed
- there was no kitab like this so it's not
- saying
- what is it saying is not going what's
- going in your head you understand
- what is the meaning of the word kitab i
- really go very quickly here and
- already
- right
- so
- you know in this guitar like basically
- i just want to show you something
- very interesting
- this one letter just one letter
- is called kitab
- this is used to be this is the kitab of
- rasulullah
- to the king of rome hercules
- kisrah the king of persia mukakas the
- king of egypt najashi the king of
- abyssinian look look you want to look
- what kitab
- this is four and these are originals
- and they're true copies and they're
- saved
- one if you read
- and the arabs at the time the prophet
- they had no problem writing half of the
- word up half of the word down just like
- english you know when you have the word
- you put dash and then the last one here
- you see the word on the top the king
- these are four
- how many pages
- one
- kitab does not mean this this is not
- what a kitab meant at the time of the
- prophet sallallahu alaihi so liberate
- your mind the kitab means important
- message
- a leader of a tribe can bring someone
- whom he trusts he can give him a secret
- message send him to another leader of a
- tribe and that would still be called
- kitab even if there wasn't this
- kitab means
- important
- vital message you understand so
- this
- probably the first copy of almost
- probably it looked like this something
- like this no doubts no this probably
- they try and that's when they looked at
- this there wasn't many like this you
- know the arabs the most they got they
- would write the poem in like the paper i
- showed you before and they will hang it
- on they called
- this is how and this is how the quran
- transferred from one teacher to another
- men
- teaching men and women women teaching
- men and women beautiful masha'allah from
- one generation to another so
- rasulullah
- said to us that you know
- every time you recite quran tin hasana
- every time you what
- recite
- and he said i'm not saying alif lam mean
- one letter no alif letter lam letter and
- meme letter
- so am i think a question how many qurans
- do we have
- one how many surahs we have in the quran
- 114
- how many ayahs do we have
- many how many years rasulullah lived
- 23 years as a prophet from age 40 to 63.
- put 23 in the middle put 6 before and 6
- after that's the number of the ayat of
- the quran 6 2 3 6. got it how many
- words are in the quran
- 7 7 7
- 9 7
- how many
- 7 7 7 9 7 how many letters in the quran
- three hundred and thirty thousand
- seven hundred and nine letters
- multiply that by ten minimum and in the
- month of ramadan is multiply only allah
- knows and that's why
- you know when you look here in the
- beginning subhanallah the first surah
- that was revealed in madina
- so we'll go quickly over the jesus
- summary after surat al-fatiha surat
- al-baqarah you know
- five ayat about
- are you with me did i go too fast
- five ayat
- about the believers two ayah about the
- disbelievers who done and 12 to 14 ayat
- talking about who
- let's go with 12 talking about the
- hypocrites in makkah there was no
- hypocrisy the movement of hypocrites
- appeared in medina when muslims became
- strong subhanallah when you go
- immediately
- in the third page right first page
- second page first five ayat they always
- like to decorate it
- but there's you know then here
- third page fourth page here already
- allah issued a challenge to the whole
- world
- you wanna you wanna you wanna challenge
- bring another book like it
- no one answered the challenge every time
- someone in arabia tried to mimic the
- quran everybody made fun of him come on
- man we that's not that doesn't sound
- like that you understand then you go
- here next page immediately allah talks
- about the story of the beginning of the
- creation story of adam alaihissalam
- starts from here allah tells the angels
- i'm going to place
- an agent a sub cert you know
- uh vice gerund a representative on earth
- we worship you we're we're perfect we're
- good we do whatever you want allah says
- i know what you don't know
- i'm going to give adam knowledge and i'm
- going to give adam
- and once i give him the knowledge
- and once i give him the rule you make
- sujud to him iblis refused
- so then allah gave him a chance a police
- did not take that chance what ended up
- happening
- allah ended up
- punishing him and casting him out of his
- mercy after giving him multiple chances
- subhanallah so here we are
- in the next page subhanallah then allah
- tells the story of adam
- so adam ate from the tree allah said why
- did you eat from the tree told by allah
- i repent i ask for forgiveness allah
- forgive him so you have two examples
- you're going to either be stubborn and
- follow the example of shaytan or you're
- going to be
- soft-hearted and follow the example of
- adam alaihissalam our father when he
- in this ayat
- is there a blame on
- eve that she ate first no
- did shaytan come in the form of a
- serpent which means a snake and
- convinced eve to eat and then
- eve after she ate knowing that she
- shouldn't eat took the fruit gave it to
- adam adam didn't know from which fruit
- from which tree this fruit came he ate
- so when god asked him why did you eat he
- said it's that woman you put with me in
- heaven it's because of her
- you see
- and then after that god subhana ta'ala
- decided for the woman to go through the
- pain of monthly cycle the pain of
- delivery the pain of pregnancy the pain
- of this as a punishment to what she did
- in the quran the pain of pregnancy and
- delivery is the most rewarded and
- praised in the quran is called jihad
- the story of the quran about adam and
- eve fundamentally different than the
- story of the bible teach that to your
- children then we go and then the story
- of the children of israel comes and the
- beautiful story of satan
- is
- the most mentioned prophet in the quran
- 161 times
- the name of muslims in the quran 63
- times the next name ibrahim
- 25 times his mother made him 31 times
- how many times rasulallah was mentioned
- by name in the quran four times
- but
- in every other ayah allah speaks to him
- directly without mentioning his name
- every prophet in the quran allah called
- him ibrahim
- never allah called prophet by his first
- name out of respect
- there is no muhammad
- the highest level of respect for an
- arabic listener they know that
- of tafsir understood that the story of
- musa was very much detailed in the quran
- first jesus second third in general
- has the summary of the entire quran
- the five pillars of islam mentioned in
- surat al-baqarah the six articles of
- iman
- [Music]
- the story of the beginning of the
- creation in surat al-baqarah the
- financial transactions the longest ayah
- in the quran
- in surat al-baqarah the greatest ayah in
- the quran
- the most rewarded ayah in the quran
- if you read them in an evening
- you've got nothing to worry about
- you read them in the evening you have
- nothing to worry about rasulullah said
- if you recite the last of sultan baqarah
- huh it's enough for you if you recite
- surat and baqarah within three days at
- your home today you start finish first
- jerusalem tomorrow second jesus after
- tomorrow third jesus imran
- shaytan will not enter your house for at
- least a month
- surat al-baqarah is fully loaded do you
- understand
- everything in surat al-baqarah one of
- the most beautiful ayat in the quran
- also
- the last ayah revealed in the quran
- the last ayah revealed of the entirety
- of the quran is in surat al-baqarah the
- longest ayah in the quran is in surat
- al-baqarah the greatest
- people
- they come as two clouds they cover you
- on the day of judgement from the shade
- from the sun heat and
- everyone is scared you're sitting under
- two clouds
- don't let shaytan scare you from
- it's the easiest
- ask the memorizers of the quran
- the easiest surah to memorize
- for the memorizers once you get into the
- short ones
- that's the hard one
- subhanallah counter to what you think
- it's not what you think so i ask allah
- you know this was this very quick
- summary jesus summary because it
- continues to talk about the stories of
- the children of israel and we are about
- to go and pray and in the third fourth
- page allah says you know probably sixth
- page in first year was
- and it's too much people don't except
- the one who has sure so may allah grant
- us
- and focus on our salah you don't
- understand arabic no problem listen to
- the imam enjoy it imagine yourself
- sitting with the prophet sallallahu
- alaihi
- he's reciting the quran you're listening
- it doesn't get any better than that and
- may allah accept our from tonight
- make this ramadan the best ramadan of
- our lives not another ramadan the best
- ramadan may allah enable us to read the
- quran once and more than once may allah
- give us the energy to pray tarawih every
- night as much as we can may allah make
- us give us the energy to make tasbih
- this is the month
- of allah
- there's
