Talk · Your Relationship With Allah | 2025 Ramadan Series, part 2 of 31
He Knows You Best | Your Relationship With Allah Ep.1 | Sh. Alauddin ElBakri | Ramadan Series
Shaykh Alauddin ElBakri
1 moment mention “Prayer”:
- Assalaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh
- Last year we dedicated the Ramadan series for our brothers and sisters in Gaza
- and a year later and 14 months after the beginning of this war
- the people of Gaza are still going through pain and suffering day and night
- non-stop, relentless death and destruction, hunger and famine
- When we speak and discuss this series, we're not in a void, we're not forgetting our brothers and sisters in Gaza
- but rather if we end up with a better relationship with Allah SWT
- maybe one of us will make prayer and Allah will accept his prayer
- and Allah SWT will stop this massacre, genocide and tragedy from happening
- May Allah SWT use us as means to stop war everywhere in the world
- to bring peace and justice and guidance and love and bonding between human beings
- instead of the hatred that is spreading everywhere
- When we talk about relationship with Allah SWT
- it is very important that we realize that our relationship with Allah is different than any other relationship
- Why? In the world of relationships you get to know the other person
- and the other person gets to know you, you start, you go slowly
- then it goes faster, certain events happen
- you get bonded with the other person
- That's the natural way of starting and growing relationships
- but with Allah it's very interesting
- Allah knows you before you knew yourself
- and it's very important to see what Allah told us about ourselves
- What was the beginning of the story?
- Glory be to Allah, before Allah created Adam
- Allah made an announcement in the world of heaven to the angels
- (When your Lord said to the angels, “I am going to place a successive ˹human˺ authority on earth.”)
- Lo and behold your Lord declared and announced to the angels that I will put on earth a vicegerent
- a representative, someone who will establish My will on earth
- This announcement shows that Allah SWT has set for us the mission, the vision and the goal
- but when Allah SWT wanted to create Adam PBUH
- before He created him, He created for him a universe
- skies and the earth, galaxies
- right now after launching the James Webb telescope
- we went from seeing two to four hundred billion galaxies to seeing two trillion galaxies
- and that's not even it
- Glory be to Allah, when we look at this vast creation
- and then we read in the Quran that Allah said that I've created for you
- whatsoever is on earth and whatsoever is in the skies, skies plural
- This is fascinating! This tells me I think that we will explore space
- and we will be able to benefit from other planets or other solar systems
- or maybe Allah SWT was talking about the rain that comes down from the sky
- but I always wonder what does it mean
- and what did Allah SWT intend when He said (I subdued and subjected to you
- that which is on earth and that which is in the skies)
- So Allah created for us a whole universe
- What an abundance! What a generous God!
- Allah SWT created a huge universe for us the human beings
- and that shows you what did Allah SWT think of us before He brought us to life
- this is very very very important
- Allah SWT, when He created Adam
- Allah SWT taught Adam the names of all the things
- so Allah honored Adam with knowledge
- Allah did not hold back from Adam, did not tell him don't eat from the tree of knowledge
- this narrative is in the Bible, it's not in the Quran
- Allah SWT taught Adam the names of all the things
- (He taught Adam the names of all things)
- So look at the intention before we come to life
- Allah SWT created the universe
- then taught us the names of all the things
- and then Allah took from the loin of Adam his children
- and threw them around him, scattered them
- and the Prophet PBUH said
- that Allah put between the eyes of every person a ray of light
- like a light, a flashing light
- So Adam saw all of these dots of lights
- he said: "Who are these oh Allah?"
- He said: "These are your children"
- What is the hint?
- Allah has given each and every one of us a light from Him, a gift
- it's part of the instinct, it's part of our pure innate nature
- that we come to life with that goodness in us
- that light that Allah has gifted us already
- Allah SWT for us
- He made the earth inhabitable
- (And Allah ˹alone˺ spread out the earth for you)
- Allah made the earth for you like a land that you can travel on
- We see right now in other planets
- it's either mountains or valleys, there is no flat
- we see on other planets that it's either freezing or it's on fire
- we see other planets don't even have rock and water
- they're made of gas
- our planet was designed carefully for us to come
- and Allah SWT
- when He created each and every one of us
- He picked your heart, your soul, your mind, your body, your face, your physical features
- a very unique combination
- which means each and every one of us is so unique
- that there is no one like you exactly ever
- from Adam PBUH to the last human that will live on this earth
- I see people today they're dying to make themselves look different
- either by putting tattoos or body piercing or a certain haircut
- it's just looking to be unique and different
- they don't realize and we don't realize
- that each and every one of us is so different and so unique
- this if you discover it
- you will discover so many things
- you will realize that the goodness that you bring to this world
- no one else can bring it to this world
- because your combination is unique
- and the evil that you can bring to this world
- no one else can bring because the combination is unique
- So this should ignite in you a personal relationship between you and Allah SWT
- Why?
- Because Allah SWT created you like no one else
- and He wanted you, you, specifically you
- with your face, with your voice, with your personality, with your heart, with your soul
- with your mind, with your deep consciousness, that uniqueness
- Allah wanted you to exist
- Oh my God! You start feeling now there is a personal relationship between you and Allah SWT
- We are very lucky as Allah SWT set for us the stage with honor
- (Indeed, We have dignified the children of Adam) Allah SWT says
- (carried them on land and sea, granted them good and lawful provisions
- and privileged them far above many of Our creatures)
- We have honored the children of Adam
- and We've given them the ability to live on the land and on the sea
- and We have endowed them with so many blessings
- and We have preferred them over a great portion of Our creation
- a great preference
- Don't walk around the planet with your head down
- don't walk around thinking that you are nobody
- that you are insignificant
- that you own nothing
- that you have nothing
- don't evaluate yourself the way that people evaluate you
- Look at what Allah said about you and enjoy that
- live up to that
- claim that honor
- everyone is born with an honor
- but it's up to us to claim it or waste it and put it to waste
- My dear brothers and sisters
- everything I have told you is mentioned as a verse in the Quran or a Hadith
- and it's really interesting when Allah SWT says
- (O humanity! What has emboldened you against your Lord, the Most Generous,
- Who created you, fashioned you, and perfected your design,
- moulding you in whatever form He willed?)
- Oh human, what made you so deceived, so unaware of your Lord
- Who created you from nothing
- Who portioned you
- Who straightened you up
- Who endowed you with so many gifts
- Who assembled you
- Glory be to Allah, you're unique, unique, unique, unique soul, unique body, unique heart
- this is very interesting
- and we want to claim that honor that Allah SWT has put for us on this planet
- this is very important to know
- because it's important before you start a relationship with Allah
- that you know what Allah thinks of you
- Let's put our low evaluation of ourselves aside
- let's put the temptation that we face in life aside
- let's put the whisper of Satan and the devil inside our head
- that keeps on beating us and convincing us that we are wrong, dishonorable, evil sinners
- let's put that aside and let's listen to the One who made us and brought us to existence
- what does He, God Almighty, Allah thinks of us?
- What a beautiful way to start the journey with Allah
- May Allah SWT help us this Ramadan to claim that honor
- to build that relationship and to meet His expectations of us
- Ameen Ya Rabb Alameen
- Wassalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh
