4 moments mention “Relationship with Allah”:

  1. Assalaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh
  2. Last year we dedicated the Ramadan series for our brothers and sisters in Gaza
  3. and a year later and 14 months after the beginning of this war
  4. the people of Gaza are still going through pain and suffering day and night
  5. non-stop, relentless death and destruction, hunger and famine
  6. When we speak and discuss this series, we're not in a void, we're not forgetting our brothers and sisters in Gaza
  7. but rather if we end up with a better relationship with Allah SWT
  8. maybe one of us will make prayer and Allah will accept his prayer
  9. and Allah SWT will stop this massacre, genocide and tragedy from happening
  10. May Allah SWT use us as means to stop war everywhere in the world
  11. to bring peace and justice and guidance and love and bonding between human beings
  12. instead of the hatred that is spreading everywhere
  13. When we talk about relationship with Allah SWT
  14. it is very important that we realize that our relationship with Allah is different than any other relationship
  15. Why? In the world of relationships you get to know the other person
  16. and the other person gets to know you, you start, you go slowly
  17. then it goes faster, certain events happen
  18. you get bonded with the other person
  19. That's the natural way of starting and growing relationships
  20. but with Allah it's very interesting
  21. Allah knows you before you knew yourself
  22. and it's very important to see what Allah told us about ourselves
  23. What was the beginning of the story?
  24. Glory be to Allah, before Allah created Adam
  25. Allah made an announcement in the world of heaven to the angels
  26. (When your Lord said to the angels, “I am going to place a successive ˹human˺ authority on earth.”)
  27. Lo and behold your Lord declared and announced to the angels that I will put on earth a vicegerent
  28. a representative, someone who will establish My will on earth
  29. This announcement shows that Allah SWT has set for us the mission, the vision and the goal
  30. but when Allah SWT wanted to create Adam PBUH
  31. before He created him, He created for him a universe
  32. skies and the earth, galaxies
  33. right now after launching the James Webb telescope
  34. we went from seeing two to four hundred billion galaxies to seeing two trillion galaxies
  35. and that's not even it
  36. Glory be to Allah, when we look at this vast creation
  37. and then we read in the Quran that Allah said that I've created for you
  38. whatsoever is on earth and whatsoever is in the skies, skies plural
  39. This is fascinating! This tells me I think that we will explore space
  40. and we will be able to benefit from other planets or other solar systems
  41. or maybe Allah SWT was talking about the rain that comes down from the sky
  42. but I always wonder what does it mean
  43. and what did Allah SWT intend when He said (I subdued and subjected to you
  44. that which is on earth and that which is in the skies)
  45. So Allah created for us a whole universe
  46. What an abundance! What a generous God!
  47. Allah SWT created a huge universe for us the human beings
  48. and that shows you what did Allah SWT think of us before He brought us to life
  49. this is very very very important
  50. Allah SWT, when He created Adam
  51. Allah SWT taught Adam the names of all the things
  52. so Allah honored Adam with knowledge
  53. Allah did not hold back from Adam, did not tell him don't eat from the tree of knowledge
  54. this narrative is in the Bible, it's not in the Quran
  55. Allah SWT taught Adam the names of all the things
  56. (He taught Adam the names of all things)
  57. So look at the intention before we come to life
  58. Allah SWT created the universe
  59. then taught us the names of all the things
  60. and then Allah took from the loin of Adam his children
  61. and threw them around him, scattered them
  62. and the Prophet PBUH said
  63. that Allah put between the eyes of every person a ray of light
  64. like a light, a flashing light
  65. So Adam saw all of these dots of lights
  66. he said: "Who are these oh Allah?"
  67. He said: "These are your children"
  68. What is the hint?
  69. Allah has given each and every one of us a light from Him, a gift
  70. it's part of the instinct, it's part of our pure innate nature
  71. that we come to life with that goodness in us
  72. that light that Allah has gifted us already
  73. Allah SWT for us
  74. He made the earth inhabitable
  75. (And Allah ˹alone˺ spread out the earth for you)
  76. Allah made the earth for you like a land that you can travel on
  77. We see right now in other planets
  78. it's either mountains or valleys, there is no flat
  79. we see on other planets that it's either freezing or it's on fire
  80. we see other planets don't even have rock and water
  81. they're made of gas
  82. our planet was designed carefully for us to come
  83. and Allah SWT
  84. when He created each and every one of us
  85. He picked your heart, your soul, your mind, your body, your face, your physical features
  86. a very unique combination
  87. which means each and every one of us is so unique
  88. that there is no one like you exactly ever
  89. from Adam PBUH to the last human that will live on this earth
  90. I see people today they're dying to make themselves look different
  91. either by putting tattoos or body piercing or a certain haircut
  92. it's just looking to be unique and different
  93. they don't realize and we don't realize
  94. that each and every one of us is so different and so unique
  95. this if you discover it
  96. you will discover so many things
  97. you will realize that the goodness that you bring to this world
  98. no one else can bring it to this world
  99. because your combination is unique
  100. and the evil that you can bring to this world
  101. no one else can bring because the combination is unique
  102. So this should ignite in you a personal relationship between you and Allah SWT
  103. Why?
  104. Because Allah SWT created you like no one else
  105. and He wanted you, you, specifically you
  106. with your face, with your voice, with your personality, with your heart, with your soul
  107. with your mind, with your deep consciousness, that uniqueness
  108. Allah wanted you to exist
  109. Oh my God! You start feeling now there is a personal relationship between you and Allah SWT
  110. We are very lucky as Allah SWT set for us the stage with honor
  111. (Indeed, We have dignified the children of Adam) Allah SWT says
  112. (carried them on land and sea, granted them good and lawful provisions
  113. and privileged them far above many of Our creatures)
  114. We have honored the children of Adam
  115. and We've given them the ability to live on the land and on the sea
  116. and We have endowed them with so many blessings
  117. and We have preferred them over a great portion of Our creation
  118. a great preference
  119. Don't walk around the planet with your head down
  120. don't walk around thinking that you are nobody
  121. that you are insignificant
  122. that you own nothing
  123. that you have nothing
  124. don't evaluate yourself the way that people evaluate you
  125. Look at what Allah said about you and enjoy that
  126. live up to that
  127. claim that honor
  128. everyone is born with an honor
  129. but it's up to us to claim it or waste it and put it to waste
  130. My dear brothers and sisters
  131. everything I have told you is mentioned as a verse in the Quran or a Hadith
  132. and it's really interesting when Allah SWT says
  133. (O humanity! What has emboldened you against your Lord, the Most Generous,
  134. Who created you, fashioned you, and perfected your design,
  135. moulding you in whatever form He willed?)
  136. Oh human, what made you so deceived, so unaware of your Lord
  137. Who created you from nothing
  138. Who portioned you
  139. Who straightened you up
  140. Who endowed you with so many gifts
  141. Who assembled you
  142. Glory be to Allah, you're unique, unique, unique, unique soul, unique body, unique heart
  143. this is very interesting
  144. and we want to claim that honor that Allah SWT has put for us on this planet
  145. this is very important to know
  146. because it's important before you start a relationship with Allah
  147. that you know what Allah thinks of you
  148. Let's put our low evaluation of ourselves aside
  149. let's put the temptation that we face in life aside
  150. let's put the whisper of Satan and the devil inside our head
  151. that keeps on beating us and convincing us that we are wrong, dishonorable, evil sinners
  152. let's put that aside and let's listen to the One who made us and brought us to existence
  153. what does He, God Almighty, Allah thinks of us?
  154. What a beautiful way to start the journey with Allah
  155. May Allah SWT help us this Ramadan to claim that honor
  156. to build that relationship and to meet His expectations of us
  157. Ameen Ya Rabb Alameen
  158. Wassalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh
