  1. Assalaamu 'Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi  Wa Barakatuh "Peace be upon you"
  2. Welcome to "Tawasaw" Ramadan series
  3. As-Sirat al-Mustaqim "The Straight Path"
  4. We finished the first station, which gave us our purpose
  5. to know Allah, to love Allah, to worship Allah, and to obey Allah.
  6. Most believers think that the job is done and mission accomplished when we do that.
  7. But that's not the case.
  8. Allah SWT
  9. had set up for us goals to meet
  10. and to fulfill in this world,
  11. and he created us to establish these goals.
  12. That's our mission and our job in this world.
  13. And the first one is to establish justice.
  14. You see, Allah explains to us in the Quran that the whole universe
  15. was established on justice and without justice, humanity will fail.
  16. It restores my faith in humanity when I see people from around the world,
  17. from all the nations across cultures and languages.
  18. They go out and protest for Palestine and for the Palestinian people.
  19. That shows that the "Fitra" the pure innate nature
  20. that Allah put in people is still alive.
  21. This world is a test for us, and it's a challenge.
  22. And for the believers.
  23. The first and biggest challenge that Allah gave us
  24. is to establish justice. In  an Ayah in The Noble Quran,
  25. Allah put three out of the four goals in one line
  26. (Indeed, Allah commands justice, grace,  as well as generosity to close relatives)
  27. "Allah commands" and this style "ِAllah Commands"
  28. This expression has been only  used two times in the Quran,
  29. and both times they came with the topic of justice.
  30. Allah commands that you establish justice and you establish excellence.
  31. And here it means giving and goodness to establish goodness on earth
  32. and to be good to your kinship, which refers to one of the colors of mercy.
  33. And this will help us to define our journey, especially the goals.
  34. When it comes to justice, Allah  SWT, in two Ayahs of the Quran
  35. used two expressions interchangeably.
  36. Allah commands you, believer and calls you the believers
  37. to stand up for Allah and be witnesses for justice. The other way,
  38. Allah is asking you the believers
  39. to stand up for justice and be witnesses for Allah. Switched
  40. the word "Allah" and "standing up  for justice" with the expression.
  41. Why is that very important?
  42. Because one of the names of Allah is "Al Adl"
  43. The Just One, The Fair One, "Al Muqsit" The One who's Fair.
  44. And these two words "Al  Adl" and "Al Qist" Allah SWT
  45. Himself is "Al Adl"
  46. and "Al Muqsit" if they are mentioned in one sentence,
  47. that means they have two different meanings.
  48. If they are used in separate sentences, that means they have the same meaning.
  49. What are the two meanings?
  50. "Adl" refers to justice.
  51. And justice here means equality.
  52. You give everyone the same portion.
  53. For example, all people shall be treated equally under the law.
  54. That's called justice, but fairness.
  55. It means you'll give more to the one who deserves it.
  56. And you'll give more to the one who needs it.
  57. For example, we put ramps for people with wheelchairs.
  58. That's giving more.
  59. Yeah, we give them more because they need it.
  60. And these two meanings, justice and fairness, are all over the Quran.
  61. And Allah asks of us to be strong believers
  62. and to stand up for justice and Allah SWT
  63. There is nothing that He despises
  64. more than injustice, which we call aggression and oppression.
  65. So many Ayahs in the Quran forbid us
  66. from being unfair and injustice and from oppressing others.
  67. Actually, in the two Ayahs that I mentioned, one of them, Allah
  68. said, stand up for justice, be witnesses for God, and don't
  69. let the hatred for some people in your heart
  70. make you treat them unjustly
  71. and unfairly, separate your feelings from justice and fairness.
  72. In the second verse, Allah SWT
  73. says, I expect you to stand up for justice, even if it's against yourself.
  74. If you did something wrong, you should  say, I was unfair, I was injustice.
  75. Or even if you have to witness against your own parents,
  76. or even if you have to witness against your relatives
  77. or someone who is rich or poor, you don't care.
  78. When it comes to fairness and justice.
  79. It's one standard with everyone. In the Quran
  80. Allah starts with asking us by not oppressing ourselves.
  81. How does someone oppress themselves? When they walk away from the truth
  82. to falsehood and to darkness
  83. And then Allah asks of us not to oppress.
  84. The closest to us.
  85. Your spouse, your children,
  86. your brothers and sisters,
  87. and sometimes your parents. Allah SWT
  88. asks of us to stop ourselves
  89. when we see ourselves transgressing
  90. and to remind ourselves that we're not in control.
  91. We're not the powerful.
  92. We're not the ultimate controller of this world.
  93. But to remind ourselves of our faith that Allah is watching above us
  94. and that there is a Day of Judgment, and that the story is not over yet,
  95. and that we will be judged for every action and word that we take.
  96. If it is good, we will be rewarded good.
  97. And if it's evil, we will be punished for it.
  98. That faith in the Day of Judgment works like a policeman inside the believer
  99. that stops him from transgressing and oppressing others.
  100. My dear brother and sisters, what we see in the world today
  101. requires us, the believers, to stand up together for justice.
  102. Subhanallah “Glory be to Allah”
  103. always the oppressor, cries
  104. foul and plays the role of the victim.
  105. And he cannot see himself that the whole world can see
  106. that they are unfair and unjust  and oppressors and aggressors.
  107. But then they say, we are the victims and we have the right to defend ourselves.
  108. The world has heard so much of this,
  109. and Insha'Allah, when the believers come together,
  110. Allah SWT will bless their efforts and they will be able to
  111. establish justice and fairness to the best of their ability.
  112. May Allah the Mighty and the Majestic,
  113. save us from Shaitan "devil" on from oppressing ourselves
  114. or oppressing others.
  115. May Allah make us from the carriers of the torch of justice
  116. Ameen Ya Rabb Alameen
