2 moments mention “Relationship with Allah”:

  1. As-salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh
  2. Welcome back to Tawasaw Institute's
  3. Ramadan series for 1446, your relationship with Allah SWT. My dear brothers and sisters
  4. We have been exploring the human in the raw
  5. Without the human going through this processing factory of Islam and then coming out of the other side as a Muslim
  6. The best human product, from a human to a Muslim being processed through the factory of Islam
  7. Allah tells us that the human in general is in one of two states
  8. State number one is something good happening to him or her, things are going good, they're going well
  9. What's the reaction of the human in that case? Allah tells us in the Quran that
  10. (for humankind is ever stingy!)
  11. Allah SWT says that the human, when he has so much
  12. blessings from Allah
  13. Usually, the human in the raw
  14. without the processing of Islam, the human would want this
  15. blessing only for him, does not want to share it with anyone else and
  16. it makes that human feel arrogant
  17. boastful
  18. Selfish, big ego, why?
  19. Because that human was able to accomplish something
  20. Allah SWT in the first five verses that were revealed to Prophet Muhammad PBUH
  21. (Read, ˹O Prophet,˺ in the Name of your Lord Who created, )
  22. Verse number six, seven and eight, it says
  23. (Most certainly, one exceeds all bounds
  24. once they think they are self-sufficient. ˹But˺ surely to your Lord is the return ˹of all˺)
  25. In these three verses
  26. Allah states the problem
  27. then Allah in the next verse states the cause of the problem
  28. then Allah the Mighty and the Majestic states the solution and the
  29. remedy for the problem. What's the problem? That the human goes overboard
  30. oppresses, becomes
  31. a tyrant, becomes
  32. a despot
  33. goes overboard. You know, tyrant means oppressor, despotism means
  34. transgressing the boundaries
  35. (Most certainly, one exceeds all bounds)
  36. Nay the human becomes a transgressor and an oppressor
  37. When?
  38. (once they think they are self-sufficient)
  39. When he sees himself becoming rich
  40. Doesn't need anyone
  41. young
  42. healthy
  43. powerful, usually power does that to you and lots of money
  44. Then you go overboard, you start oppressing, you become an aggressor
  45. Allah SWT describes for us the remedy for that
  46. (˹But˺ surely to your Lord is the return ˹of all˺)
  47. Remember that you will go back to your Lord and you have to answer for what you have done
  48. The answer to that is the Day of Judgment, a deep belief and a deep
  49. impact of that belief that there is a Day of Judgment should stop you from being an oppressor
  50. should stop you from being an aggressor
  51. Glory be to Allah, you know, people with all of this attack on the faith and having a faith
  52. Like you will find the atheists attack the believers, oh so many religious wars
  53. Actually, historically, the religious wars are far less than the wars that were driven
  54. Not in the name of God. Genghis Khan did not believe in God nor he declared war
  55. Because of religion and yet him and his descendant wiped out
  56. Between 11 to 12 percent of the world's population at that time
  57. The first World War was not initiated based on religion, the second World War was not initiated based on religion
  58. Many of the massacres that happen in human history have nothing to do with religion
  59. It has to do with one human feeling that he's invisible
  60. unstoppable
  61. powerful and he will become a curse on mankind
  62. Nay the human transgresses when he sees himself self-sufficient
  63. What's the remedy for that? To believe that whatever you do in this world
  64. you will have to answer for it on the Day of Judgment. If you have that faith deep in your heart
  65. you will not even oppress one human
  66. You know what? You will not even oppress a cat or a dog or an insect or a bird or a fish
  67. Because you know, you will have to answer for it on the Day of Judgment
  68. This belief on the Day of Judgment is very essential and crucial for
  69. stopping a believer
  70. from oppression and when that becomes activated
  71. your relationship with Allah will go higher and higher and you will be closer to Allah
  72. That's why in so many verses in the Quran Allah couples the faith in the hereafter with Him
  73. (And there are some who say, “We believe in Allah and the Last Day,”)
  74. Believe in God and the Day of Judgment, God and the Day of Judgment, out of the six pillars
  75. the most coupled two pillars after believing in Allah and his messenger is believing in Allah and the Day of Judgment
  76. Because that's the faith that stops people from going crazy. May Allah SWT
  77. make it that His blessings to us will not be the reason why we become
  78. oppressors and aggressors, but rather we will become merciful
  79. giving
  80. charitable, loving and we will embody the names of the beauty of Allah SWT
  81. May Allah make this Ramadan
  82. inspire us to be like that
  83. Ameen Ya Rabbal Alameen
  84. Wasalamu alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh
