  1. Bismi'Allah "In the name of Allah"
  2. Alhamdulillah “All praise and gratitude belongs to Allah”
  3. Peace be upon the Prophet of Allah, and upon his family and companions and whoever stood by him
  4. My dear brothers and sisters
  5. Assalaamu 'Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh "Peace be unto you"
  6. As we record the series about As-Sirat al-Mustaqim "The Straight Path" for the month of Ramadan.
  7. 1445 Hijri I want to dedicate this series
  8. for our brothers and sisters of Gaza.
  9. When we talk about As-Sirat al-Mustaqim "The Straight Path"
  10. we're talking about Surah Al-Fatiha
  11. without which no Rakat is accepted.
  12. No prayer "Salah" is valid.
  13. Surah Al-Fatiha has an introduction, a very important introduction
  14. in which you praise Allah SWT
  15. he's the most compassionate, most merciful owner of the day of judgment.
  16. And then you'll get into the contract, the contract between you and Allah SWT
  17. which we call in the religious
  18. vocab, the "Covenant"
  19. This covenant between you and Allah SWT is
  20. (You ˹alone˺ we worship) Oh Allah
  21. (and You ˹alone˺ we ask for help)
  22. We worship you, and in return we ask for your help.
  23. But then the climax of Surah Al-Fatiha
  24. is (Guide us along the Straight Path)
  25. As-Sirat al-Mustaqim "The Straight Path" expression
  26. has been mentioned in the Quran more than 40 times.
  27. That's how important it is.
  28. The straight path
  29. If you ask physicists: "What is the shortest distance between two points?"
  30. They will say: "A straight line" as if Allah SWT
  31. is telling us that the shortest distance between you and
  32. your success is my path.
  33. Many people think that Islam and the way of Allah is the long way.
  34. Actually, it is the shortest cut to success as it often will stop him
  35. for Allah to put the word, "Al-Mustaqim" "the straight" in every language
  36. When we describe a person that is a good person,
  37. we say he's a straight person, straight shooter,
  38. and we want to describe a person that is not good,
  39. We say he's a crooked person, so Allah SWT
  40. is giving us the hints, even through our languages,
  41. that this path will make up straight, steadfast person out of you.
  42. As-Sirat al-Mustaqim is referring to a path that is straight,
  43. and this is the beauty of Surah Al-Fatiha and the beauty of our faith
  44. that all what Allah wants from you is to see you traveling on the path
  45. because you cannot be on the straight path
  46. if you are not traveling, that means you are stagnant.
  47. You are sitting down, you're not on a path.
  48. You are on the path only if you're moving
  49. and Allah wants us to keep on asking him.
  50. Keep us moving, keep us going.
  51. Allah will not judge you if you reached your goal or not,
  52. but he will judge you if you tried and traveled and moved
  53. in the right direction or not, As-Sirat al-Mustaqim
  54. leads straight to a Allah SWT, Allah SWT said
  55. Allah said, “This is the Way, binding on Me"
  56. This path leads straight to me.
  57. Subhan Allah "Glory be to Allah" and in another Ayah
  58. (Surely my Lord’s Way is perfect justice)
  59. Say my lord is on a straight path
  60. which means this path leads straight to Allah SWT
  61. Allah SWT called his book, in his book
  62. that it is As-Sirat al-Mustaqim "The Straight Path"
  63. Allah SWT called The Teachings of the Prophet PBUH
  64. that he sent him to guide people to As-Sirat al-Mustaqim
  65. (And you are truly leading ˹all˺ to the Straight Path)
  66. And the most important thing that the only one that
  67. can guide you to the straight path is ِAllah SWT
  68. So put all of your sincerity together on this journey.
  69. If you're sincere, if you really want it, if you really insist on it,
  70. Allah SWT will give it to you and will lead you to him.
  71. Insha'Allah Lord of all Worlds
  72. In this journey, we try to define
  73. As-Sirat al-Mustaqim, between the purpose,
  74. the goals, the resources,
  75. the curriculum and method,
  76. the system and the hurdles and the enemies on the path of As-Sirat al-Mustaqim
  77. The collection of that, will create, Insha'Allah
  78. a clarity on the path to Allah SWT
  79. For every point that we will mention, there will be either an Ayah
  80. or a Hadith for there in lies the truth.
  81. When you hear the word "As-Sirat al-Mustaqim" meaning the word
  82. "straight path" immediately,
  83. it is normal to assume
  84. that you know this "Sirat" path has a beginning,
  85. has an end, has a goal,
  86. has a purpose, has lanes,
  87. has signs, has directions.
  88. This should be clear in the mind of every Muslim.
  89. Yet in my travels around the Muslim world
  90. and the entire world, even the non-Muslim world,
  91. when I meet Muslims and I ask them, can you describe for As-Sirat al-Mustaqim?
  92. People are
  93. dumbfounded and they, you know, they give answers here and there.
  94. So I was struck by that.
  95. This is what we ask Allah SWT in every Rakat
  96. (Guide us to the Straight Path)
  97. And as we know, our scientists beautifully said that this Duaa "prayer" was immediately
  98. answered, from the beginning of Surah Al-Baqarah
  99. (Alif-Lãm-Mĩm)
  100. (This is the Book! There is no doubt about it1, a guide for those mindful ˹of Allah)
  101. You ask for guidance guide us to the straight path, immediately.
  102. Allah says this is the book in it there is no doubt
  103. guidance to those who have righteousness.
  104. So the Quran gives us details here
  105. and there about As-Sirat al-Mustaqim
  106. in details, beginning, end,
  107. and all through and what we will attempt in the series,
  108. especially in the month of Ramadan
  109. as this Ramadan is so different
  110. because we will never forget, this should never happen again
  111. and we should really start looking
  112. at the way out of this misery that we are in as a Muslim Ummah "nation"
  113. May Allah the Mighty and the Majestic guide us to As-Sirat al-Mustaqim
  114. As you read the Quran on a daily basis,
  115. let's take this journey together, because whatever we're discussing here,
  116. you will read it in the Quran during the month of Ramadan Insha'Allah
  117. So let's purify our intentions.
  118. Let's get excited.
  119. Let's bring all the vim that we can
  120. and all the strength and all the sincerity and all the seriousness
  121. in honor of our brothers and sisters in Gaza, but more for the sake of
  122. Allah SW, who created us and put us on this planet for a reason.
  123. So I say, let's start together.
  124. Bismi'Allah "In the name of Allah"
  125. Tawakalna ala Allah, wala hawla wala quwwata illah bi'Allah
  126. in the name of God "Allah" we start, we rely on Allah
  127. and there is no power in us to change
  128. or to move anything or to transform, except with the help of Allah.
