5 moments mention “Ramadan”:

  1. Assalaamu 'Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh
  2. and welcome back to Tawasaw series for Ramadan 1446
  3. My dear brothers and sisters, it's very interesting
  4. how Allah SWT in certain verses in the Quran, He tells us what He wants for us
  5. Now it's up to us to want what Allah wanted for us or not, so this is not kind of
  6. something that will happen to you, this is something that you have to choose
  7. but Allah made His
  8. intentions clear to us Glory be to Him, the Exalted
  9. Now in these verses, one of the most fascinating verses is in the verse that talks about fasting in Surah Al-Baqarah
  10. After Allah explained to us when to fast? How long to fast?
  11. What are the exemptions from fasting? At the end Allah said
  12. (Allah intends ease for you, not hardship)
  13. Allah wants things to be easy for you, He does not want things to be hard
  14. and difficult for you. Allah SWT shows us in these verses that we should not mix
  15. between things being smooth and easy and between going in some sort of pain
  16. Meaning, when we fast, yes, we will feel hungry, we will feel thirsty, we will feel tired
  17. we will feel sleepy, but does that mean that our life is not gonna get any easier or our life is gonna get harder?
  18. No
  19. We even human beings without a revelation through observation
  20. we came up with a statement that says "No pain, no gain" and
  21. the pain that we go through in Ramadan
  22. will lead to so much gain that it will make your life
  23. easier the rest of the year and the rest of your life when you follow the teachings of Islam
  24. specifically fasting, why? Because fasting is all about self-control
  25. Are you in control of yourself or is yourself in control of you? That's the biggest question
  26. Why do people fall into addictions?
  27. Because their self becomes the master and they become the slave, because they could don't know how to stop
  28. because their self dictates what they do or what they don't do
  29. in Islam
  30. disciplining ourselves, which is mentioned in the Quran as "Nafs" the self, is one of the
  31. goals, one of the
  32. trainings that we have to reach to and accomplish in order to reach to our goals in Islam
  33. My dear brothers and sisters, this discipline through fasting, will lead us to so many things in life
  34. that will lead to our financial success
  35. social success because we learn how to say "No", most people in life don't know how to say "No"
  36. We, in Ramadan, we say "No" to even that which is halal
  37. Imagine saying "No" to what is haram, tthat will be easier because what is haram is
  38. harmful
  39. and destructive
  40. and addictive
  41. and expensive and it will lead to your demise and that's why in Ramadan we go through this
  42. discipline and we go through the idea of "Yusur" where life becomes easier
  43. (Allah intends ease for you, not hardship)
  44. The point of this religion is not to make your life difficult and hard, the opposite
  45. it's to make your life easy. This determines the relationship between you and Allah. How many Muslims feel bothered
  46. and they feel loaded by Islam? They fast and they cannot wait till the day is done
  47. They go to Hajj and they cannot wait until they leave the crowds
  48. They give charity and they cannot wait until they get away from the poor people
  49. What a way to practice a religion! That's not how we practice our religion
  50. We practice it with love and passion and when we see that even though we go through difficulty in fasting
  51. in waking up for Fajr and prayers, in going to Hajj, in giving charity
  52. That pain will lead to so much gain that the pain will become
  53. nothing to talk of and nothing to be mentioned
  54. My dear brothers and sisters, may Allah SWT
  55. inspire us this Ramadan to be on the right track and to see that Allah wants for us
  56. as He said in the Quran after talking about Wudhu
  57. (and laid upon you no hardship in the religion)
  58. He did not put upon you in this religion a difficulty
  59. So I hope we see our religion that way and that will change the dynamic of the relationship
  60. between us and Allah, we will always be excited to practice our faith
  61. and we will always be aspiring to do more not less
  62. Ameen Ya Rabb al Alameen
  63. May God’s blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad and all his family and companions
